01:23 Along with some career changes over the past couple years, there's also been a big shift

01:28 in Steve's personal life. In 2022, he shared a statement saying he and his wife, Sheree Gustin,

01:34 were separating after 23 years of marriage and that she was pregnant with her fourth child,

01:39 not his. It was news that came after Sheree shared this photo of her side profile holding

01:45 her baby bump. Writing alongside the pic, life sure is full of surprises.

01:49 My marriage right now is the best that it's ever been in my entire life.

01:54 That was Steve gushing about Sheree a year before they split,

01:58 when ET caught up with the soap star after they celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary.

02:03 I'm trying to be the best husband I can be, the best dad I can be, the best co-worker I can be

02:07 daily. Just being aware of things and working on those things that there might be a little

02:11 weakness or a deficit in and that's what I'm trying to do.

02:14 But shortly after their choice to split, Steve filed for divorce, which was finalized last month.

02:20 Steve's General Hospital return comes two years after he was fired from the soap for not complying

02:25 with the show's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Unfortunately, General Hospital has let me go

02:31 because of the vaccine mandate. I did apply for my medical and religious exemptions and both of those

02:38 were denied, which hurts. I don't think anybody should lose their livelihood over this.

02:46 Steve has played Jason Morgan on and off since 1991.
