00:00 It's the new year.
00:01 Meredith's looking gorgeous and glowing.
00:03 How are we feeling?
00:04 Close.
00:05 We're close.
00:06 Any day, any-- well, not any day now,
00:08 but we're getting close to the any day now phase.
00:10 Is Buddy ready?
00:12 You know, he's three, so as ready as he can be.
00:15 I think he understands what's going to happen.
00:17 He's a pretty smart little guy.
00:18 So I think we're definitely doing our best
00:20 to prepare him for the fact that there
00:22 will be another human being living in our home.
00:26 But yeah, I think he's excited about it.
00:28 Did you spend the holidays with Kurt and Goldie?
00:30 Because they are Santa and Mrs. Claus after all.
00:32 They are.
00:33 We did.
00:34 We spent it here in LA because we didn't travel anywhere.
00:37 It was just at home.
00:38 It was--
00:39 Just cruising on the highway.
00:41 Yeah, honestly, being in LA or like a big city,
00:44 like a transient city like LA, it's great.
00:46 Everybody goes home for the holidays.
00:47 You get anywhere in 20 minutes.
00:48 It's unbelievable.
00:50 Went to Kings games.
00:51 It was great.
00:51 It was like no traffic.
00:52 I loved it.
00:54 But it was easy and, you know, tried
00:56 to make it as less stressful as possible.
00:58 Holidays can be stressful for people.
01:00 So we were like, this is a no stress holiday.
01:03 And it was.
01:03 It was great.
01:04 I love it.
01:05 Well, I love having kind of innocent things haunted
01:07 for me forever.
01:08 Like I think about like Final Destination 2,
01:10 I can't drive behind a log truck.
01:12 How excited are you to be a part of that
01:14 and destroy pools for people?
01:17 That's the goal.
01:19 Like, you know, Creature of the Black Lagoon
01:21 and your swimming pool, Jaws and your swimming pool,
01:23 it's great.
01:23 You know, it's like that's what makes good horror,
01:25 where you take something very inane and mundane,
01:29 something that everybody, you know,
01:31 has been in a swimming pool for the most part
01:33 or seen a swimming pool.
01:34 And it's like there's, you know, the only thing you can do
01:36 is hit your head and fall in.
01:37 That's the danger.
01:38 But when there's something lurking underneath,
01:41 it's every--
01:42 I had it as a kid where you jump in the pool at night
01:45 and you're like, did something creep up to the drain?
01:48 You know, and so you play on that.
01:50 And it's a movie I can't believe never got made
01:52 or didn't get made before in different iterations.
01:54 So I'm excited to bring it to life.
01:56 Yeah, it really draws from like these '80s inspirations
01:58 that I love.
01:59 Yeah, yeah, it does.
02:00 It has-- Bryce used a lot of inspiration
02:03 from different films that he had watched over the years.
02:05 And there was a movie called The Nest
02:07 that he referred to a lot that was very good.
02:10 But yeah, it was just an original idea.
02:12 That was what I liked about it.
02:13 The conceit was original.
02:15 And it was an original one where you're like, how did that--
02:17 how did they have not done this before?
02:19 So I thought it was good, yeah.
02:21 Do you remember the first thing that was like ruined for you?
02:23 Like, mine was probably that log truck in Final Destination
02:25 2, or maybe the shark in Jaws.
02:27 Like, I think about this movie every time I go to do this.
02:31 The Strangers was really scary.
02:32 That movie wrecked me.
02:34 Yeah, The Strangers was scary because it
02:35 was like one of the first movies where it was like,
02:37 it could happen to anybody.
02:39 And it was really well done.
02:41 So yeah, that movie kind of ruined like--
02:44 a little bit like being home alone, where you're just like,
02:46 you're knocking the door.
02:47 And I'm like, I feel like they did everything
02:49 and they still couldn't win.
02:50 Last question, are you back on Thunderbolts yet?
02:52 I know you had a couple--
02:53 you guys got some fall starts, so.
02:54 Yeah, not yet.
02:57 We can't say exactly when or what or how, but it's coming.
03:01 And it'll be coming soon.
03:03 Excited to start.
03:05 Hopefully it starts.
03:06 That'd be awesome.
03:08 But you know, they keep you in the dark for the most part
03:11 until you're--
03:12 three weeks into shooting, then you know you're shooting.
03:15 Before that, if you're a weekend,
03:17 anything can happen.
