00:05 So we're about a week into the new year at this point and if you're taking part in the
00:08 Veganuary Challenge, this is around the time when you know, you might start missing some
00:13 of the things that you've given up for the month.
00:15 But if it's meaty cravings that have got you down, I wouldn't worry too much.
00:19 There are more and more alternatives available than ever before really and pretty much anything
00:25 you might be missing, anything you can imagine, you'll find a pretty decent alternative for.
00:29 So I'm actually going to be trying tonight Redefined Meat's Lamb Kofta Mix.
00:35 This is a brand new range available through Ocado.
00:38 It boasts some pretty impressive environmental credentials and yeah, we'll give this a go,
00:43 see how it turns out.
00:46 So my initial thoughts, the kebabs had this super meaty texture when you bit into them
00:50 and a really nice sort of rich umami flavour just all on their own.
00:54 But they also really soaked up the spices in the Ra's al Hanout rub really well, gave
00:59 them this lovely fragrant nutty more complex flavour with a little bit of heat to it.
01:04 It just went perfectly with a little bit of tahini and this tzatziki type sauce that I'd
01:08 made.
01:09 They stayed together really well even though I was only using these sort of thin bamboo
01:13 skewers.
01:14 I can imagine it would be much the same if you rolled them into kofta style bowls.
01:19 So that was really great structurally.
01:20 They did get a little bit leaky in the oven which you know, made them kind of tricky to
01:25 grill, meant I had to keep rebasting the spice mix onto them.
01:28 But it was nothing really that you couldn't just sort of work around.
01:31 Alright, so we've cooked them up looking pretty good and now all that's left is to give them
01:36 a go.
01:37 They're staying on the stick pretty well which is a pretty good sign.
01:41 Overall, the mix makes a pretty solid lamb mince substitute.
01:46 It's super versatile, I could see using it in all sorts of things really.
01:51 You know, it's really, really good, really tasty.
01:54 There's a lot going on for it here, a lot in its favour and yeah, I'd give it a solid
01:58 8.5 out of 10.
