00:00 The New York Giants are at a crossroad at quarterback.
00:03 Incumbent Daniel Jones will be coming off another significant injury-filled year,
00:07 which saw him suffer his second neck injury in the last three seasons,
00:11 as well as a torn ACL that could potentially affect his mobility, at least on the onset.
00:16 And with the Giants slotted to draft sixth in the 2024 draft, the question now becomes,
00:23 do they run it back with Jones or do they look to draft to get someone else?
00:28 Predictably, General Manager Joe Shane in his year-end press conference
00:32 didn't offer any clues into his thought process. But here's what we do know.
00:36 Shane has already said that the expectation is for Jones to be the quarterback in week one of
00:41 the 2024 season if he is healthy. But expectations, of course, can change if other, more enticing
00:48 circumstances pop up. And just because the plan right now is for Jones to start in week one if
00:54 he's healthy doesn't mean that he's the long-term answer. The Giants, remember, structured Jones'
00:59 contract to include an escape hatch midway through the second year. So it's certainly possible that
01:05 if the team does add a young quarterback via the draft, the plan could be to roll with Jones until
01:11 a young quarterback is ready for the bright lights, very similar to what the Giants did back
01:15 in 2004 when they traded for Eli Manning. Whatever the case, the Giants quarterback
01:21 situation is certainly intriguing and a lot of questions still need to be answered over
01:26 the coming months. Keep it here on Giants Country to see how it all plays out.
