00:00 So the incident that we're here to talk about today happened just before Christmas
00:05 where a 999 call came in about a baby that was currently not breathing.
00:09 As soon as we got to the initial location, Tom parked up and I got on the vehicle.
00:14 As I got there, I was trying to calm down the mother, and Tom immediately requested the mother to pass the baby towards him
00:21 and he grabbed the baby and started doing CPR.
00:24 It all happened very quickly. When we got there, there was no emergency services on scene.
00:28 We could hear that they were travelling, but we weren't thinking about that at the time.
00:31 We were just thinking about the baby. It happened in the street.
00:34 There was lots of neighbours out, everybody was there.
00:36 By that point, all the emergency services had turned up.
00:38 So like my colleague said, we ushered everybody into the house just to give the family a bit of respect really
00:43 and some dignity so everything wasn't unfolding in the street.
00:46 That's when the emotions really hit for me, definitely, and just the enormity of what had happened.
00:53 The first thing I thought about when I woke up the day after was the baby immediately.
00:58 I was obviously concerned for her safety.
01:00 Just playing back everything in slow motion, the heads all around the eyes and things.
01:03 Yeah, I feel really proud of what we've done on that day.
01:07 I feel like we've done our job, though.
01:09 I feel like anybody in those circumstances would have done what we've done.
01:13 But I do feel proud of myself.
01:15 It is nice to get recognition from Cleveland Police.
01:18 Everybody's been fantastic towards us, mentioning it.
01:22 I'm just glad that the baby's alright.
01:24 Looking back, I do feel privileged and honoured with my colleague to be a part of that.
01:28 So I'm really honoured to be a part of Cleveland Police and doing that kind of stuff, doing my job.
01:32 I'm really proud.
