LTFRB, bukas na i-recalibrate ang PUV modernization
Transcript
00:00 The LTFRBO, or Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, agreed to recalibrate
00:06 or re-study the implementation of the PUV modernization.
00:11 This is after hearing the motu proprio hearing of the House Committee on Transportation
00:17 the complaints of operators who have been in a co-operative and corporation
00:22 according to the drivers and operators who attended the hearing.
00:25 Even though they complained about buying a modern jeepney and making a garage
00:31 which is a requirement of the LTFRBO, their name is not included in the corporation.
00:36 And it seems that they lost their rights to their vehicles.
00:40 There were also operators who complained about the carnapping of the corporation
00:45 while some were told that they were only forced to join the co-operative and corporation
00:52 because they will not be given a permit to travel.
00:56 Congressman Romeo Acop, the chairperson of the committee,
01:00 agreed to the LTFRBO because of the delay in the December 31 deadline for the PUV consolidation.
01:06 Only 10% of the route rationalization was completed and 70% of the consolidation.
01:15 That is a small accomplishment in spite of their budget of P5.5 billion for modernization.
01:23 LTFRBO Chair Teofilo Guaniz III explained that the PUV modernization is a continuous program
01:30 and that is why the rationalization is being done continuously.
