We try out an escape room in Birmingham - and Cillian Murphy spoke to us
They've been rapidly growing in popularity over the past few years, Escape Rooms offer a challenge wrought with suspenseful storylines. To beat the January Blues and try something new, I'm here in the Jewellery Quarter at Escape Live to try out the experience for myself.

00:20 got to help Arthur, solve some crimes, do some different things to eventually finish
00:25 your mission within 60 minutes to then get yourselves out of the room.
00:31 Escape rooms are essentially puzzle games where players must complete a series of tasks
00:36 in order to escape the room they're in.
00:38 They're more than often themed around storylines and here at Escape Live, they pull out all
00:43 the stops to make an immersive interactive experience for players.
00:47 Brummies should also be happy to hear they offer a Peaky Blinders themed game, where
00:52 players attempt to infiltrate Alfie's gang, a welcome diversion from the harsh reality
00:57 of those winter blues, while also keeping the brain active and fostering camaraderie

01:05 We sort of say escape life at Escape Live, so you're putting yourselves in an immersive
01:11 situation and whether it's families, couples, businesses, companies, different groups, we
01:17 have people on their first date, we have engagements, we have all sorts of groups from different
01:21 walks of life come and play these rooms and they all absolutely love it.

01:25 You get competitive but it's also working as a team to solve different things.
01:28 It's working as a team to solve different puzzles, again to reuse that teamwork to come
01:34 together to escape that room and there's no feeling like it, the celebration you get when
01:38 you successfully get out of one of our rooms.
01:41 A perfect indoor activity to enjoy with friends over the winter, Escape Live is here in the
01:47 heart of the Jewellery Quarter and has so far made quite an impression on the people
01:52 of Birmingham.
01:53 You probably won't be surprised to hear we have a lot of Peaky Blinders super fans which
01:58 do exist, whether they're from Birmingham or from all around the world, we have a lot
02:02 of people from all around the globe come and visit us to play this game just because of
02:06 the Peaky Blinder rooms.
02:07 America, Holland, Germany, but the Brummies specifically, they're always the most passionate
02:11 about it.
02:12 We've had people that have come in with Tommy Shelby tattoos on their legs and they're so
02:15 passionate about playing these rooms and it just makes them feel like they're in the programme,
02:22 in the episodes, it's great.
02:24 We're so proud of it, we've got an official partnership with the BBC, they helped us design
02:27 the rooms, the actors themselves did the voiceovers, so if you are going to play one of our Peaky
02:31 Blinder rooms, Cillian Murphy speaks to you.
02:35 It's real life, it's so immersive, it really makes you feel like they're part of it and
02:39 being in the heart of Birmingham really makes you feel like you're in that situation as
02:42 well so linking that along with being in touch with all the local businesses, the community
02:48 itself, it really makes us stand out.

02:55 because of these things, just the immersiveness itself makes you feel like you're in it.
