01:16 The target of the school is to provide high-quality secondary education to the student athletes, as well as sufficient training for their sport.
01:24 The National Academy of Sports is that school for student athletes aspiring to be the next generation of Olympians.
01:33 So we hope to bring them from home to podium and create the next generation of Jaidelin Diaz, EJ Obienas, Carlos Yulos, and others in the focus sports of NAS.
01:46 The formation of NAS is in accordance with Republic Act No. 11470, which was passed by former President Rodrigo Duterte in 2020.
01:55 Aside from judo, the other sports in NAS phase 1 are swimming, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, table tennis, taekwondo, and weightlifting.
02:08 In addition, Arroyo encouraged other student athletes to enroll and study in NAS, which provides full scholarship benefits.
02:17 We are inviting all the young student athletes graduating from elementary this school year and those who are grade 7 and would like to do a lateral entry into grade 8 at the National Academy of Sports.
