Pongal is a popular harvest festival celebrated with great zeal. The festival is celebrated especially in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Pongal marks the end of the winter season and beginning of the harvest season. Pongal is observed over four days and holds great cultural significance in South India. This year, Pongal 2024 will be celebrated from January 14 to 17. Bhogi Pongal is celebrated on day one of the festival.
