06:35 But then comes Louis with a jab.
06:37 That jab has been working perfectly for Louis Lopez

08:08 And then Louis was able to move laterally
08:11 and land those jabs, straight jabs, straight jabs, straight jabs.
08:15 A lot of back and forth action this round.

08:22 these guys have to be throwing upwards of 60, 70, 80 punches per round.

10:37 what do you do when you see that everything that you throw,
10:41 the other guy is taking in both directions?
10:44 Yeah. For Briseño and for Lopez.
10:46 Yeah, they're both taking the shots,
10:48 and they're both giving the shots.
10:50 It's going back and forth.
10:52 One of them has to take ring generalship.
10:56 They're both like to be on the inside.
10:58 Luis is doing a lot better at moving laterally,
11:01 just like he's doing right there.
11:03 If he moves laterally, he takes that away from Briseño.
11:06 The moment they get close, that's when Briseño has success.
11:10 So Luis has to move a little bit more, but it's limited.
11:13 You can only move so much.
11:15 Once again, double uppercut by Briseño.
11:19 Oh, he gets caught again, Lopez, with another uppercut

11:37 two or three seconds with either guy throwing a punch.
11:40 Right. No, this round was just high output, high output.
11:45 And not only high output, but high power output.
11:49 They weren't just throwing punches to throw.
11:50 They were throwing punches to hurt each other.
11:52 They were throwing punches, sending down body to the head,
11:55 uppercuts, snappy jabs.
11:57 Both fighters are doing an excellent job on the inside.
12:01 This is a tough, tough round, tough rounds,
12:04 couple of rounds for the judges to score.
12:06 And not only that, but neither guy seems to be out of breath.
12:09 I mean, both seem to be in great condition,
12:13 great fighting condition.
12:16 And that's the shot that really is doing a lot of damage
12:19 for Briseño, is that short right uppercut.
12:22 Yeah, he's landing it because Luis is leaning forward,
12:25 and when he leans forward, he leaves himself open
12:27 for that uppercut.

13:52 and then tries to exit out, but Briseño's there,
13:55 coming forward the whole time.
13:58 It seems like Lopez's punches have a little bit more
14:02 punch to them.
14:04 Every time that he connects, it seems like it rocks
14:07 Briseño a little bit.

14:13 There it is, that jab.
14:15 That's been a powerful weapon for Lopez
14:18 throughout the fight.
14:20 Good right hand also by Lopez.
14:23 And I can see--I can see how Briseño gets all his victories.
14:26 He just wears down his opponent.
14:28 He wears him down, and once he gets tired,
14:30 he takes advantage.
14:33 And--and he said it.
14:35 If I'm gonna win tonight, I'm gonna need to knock him out
14:38 because I know he's the house fighter.
14:41 And that's what he's going for.

14:51 Both looking for whatever opening they can find.

15:27 And towards the end of the round,
15:29 they both want to make sure that they leave a statement

15:44 You know, and I say, "Usually, I see who wins by
15:49 who's the guy that I'd like to be in that round

15:54 I wouldn't want to be either one in any of these rounds.
15:58 Yeah, that's exactly the same thing my coach says.
16:01 The way he judges a fight is like, "Okay, who would I rather be
16:04 at the end of this round?"
16:06 And, yeah, I wouldn't want to be either one of those two.
16:09 I don't want to be either one of these guys.
16:11 'Cause they're gonna be feeling it later on
16:13 and even worse tomorrow and the next day.
16:16 And inside, even though Briseño has the reach advantage,
16:21 he does a lot of his damage inside.
16:23 Oh, yeah.
16:25 I think that's his strategy, wear down his opponents.
16:28 You know, the punches on the inside aren't too hard,
16:31 except that uppercut.
16:32 He's able to leverage it really well.

16:39 both unanimous decisions.

16:44 and that's a big one.

17:35 But we're definitely seeing the punches by Briseño
17:40 maybe a little bit less powerful
17:44 than the ones that Lopez is landing.

17:50 Yeah, the speed on Luis' punches
17:53 are much quicker than Briseño.

18:05 because he turns his hip a little bit more.
18:07 Yeah, he's able to transfer his weight on those punches,
18:11 whereas Briseño uses a lot of arm punches,
18:13 but they're effective.
18:15 You know, they're effective. They're landing.
18:17 You know, and even though the punches may not be as hard,
18:20 you're still causing damage.
18:22 And that's ultimately what you want to do.
18:25 Slow down your opponent.
18:29 On the inside once again.
18:32 We really haven't seen him
18:35 anywhere other than mid-distance and on the inside.
18:39 Oh, good left hook there by Briseño.
18:43 And now up downstairs.
18:45 And then Luis comes back with a one-two.
18:48 You know, this is a type of fight
18:55 that I don't know how it's gonna be scored by the judges,
18:59 but I wouldn't mind seeing this fight again.
19:01 If it ends like, you know,
19:04 a very close fight, why not see it again?

19:10 Now the crowd gets into it, yelling, "Luis! Luis!"
19:15 But the guy from Guadalajara
19:18 still has something to say about it.
19:22 And what makes Buffon difficult to figure out
19:25 is that he throws from weird angles.
19:27 You know, he'll throw lead hooks, lead uppercuts,
19:30 lead right hooks.
19:33 He's mixing it up really well.
19:36 Well, it's been-- we're more than halfway
19:43 through this fight, and these guys
19:46 are throwing left and right and every which way.
19:50 Yeah, this is a main event for a reason.
19:53 You know, both fighters are being tested.
19:55 You know, there's a lot of cards that I've seen,
19:57 a lot of pay-per-view cards,
20:00 where, you know, you have
20:03 10, 12 fights,
20:05 and there may be one fight in the night
20:08 that you're like, "All right, that was a good fight."
20:10 Yep.
20:11 And the rest all, you know, even the main event
20:13 puts you to sleep.

20:15 We've had absolutely incredible fights all night long.
20:18 Every single fight has been entertaining.
20:22 I've seen a lot of-- you've seen a lot of different things
20:24 from all fighters tonight.
20:26 So, yeah, it's been an excellent, excellent night.

23:30 I think this is maybe the clearest round

28:25 that might be the telling part.
