00:00 The Philippines has advanced to the countries that are most safe in Southeast Asia.
00:04 This is based on the study of American-based Gallup Analytics.
00:08 The Philippine National Police or PNT has approved the survey results.
00:13 Patrick De Jesus is in the report.
00:15 Rise and shine, Patrick.
00:16 The Philippines is one of the safest countries in Asia based on a study.
00:24 In Southeast Asia, the country has advanced.
00:27 Next is Vietnam and Indonesia after obtaining the Law and Order Index score of 86 in 2022.
00:35 According to American-based Gallup Analytics, which published the study,
00:40 a survey was conducted with more than 1,000 respondents in each country.
00:44 The PNP said the study results will help improve the country's economy.
00:51 Last year, the crime rate was 8% based on the PNP's statistics.
00:56 It adds up to the considerations of our investors and tourists who are going to a place.
01:04 We know very well that these two aspects, the investors and tourists,
01:10 plays a big role in the boost of the economy.
01:13 Aside from the efforts of the police to maintain order,
01:17 the community also agreed to participate.
01:21 The community engages and reports if there are any suspicious activities.
01:29 And of course, the media plays a big role because it's a wide region.
01:34 With this free, what do you call that, flow of information and communication,
01:41 there's two ways to have interaction and engagement.
01:45 And with that, all the wrongdoings we see in the community, even crime,
01:51 it leads to a peaceful community. That's how I look at it.
01:55 Not only is it an ordinary crime that the police are monitoring,
01:59 but also cybercrime, where artificial intelligence or AI can be used in various forms of scam.
02:07 I agree with that fear. That's what we are, actually realistic.
02:11 Because based on our statistics, it really escapes.
02:14 For our part, we are addressing it via updating our equipment and the applications we use,
02:24 but also, including our police.
02:27 According to Acorda, they will train their cybercaps for more intense cyber patrolling.
02:34 Patrick De Azuz for the Morning Show of the Philippine City, Rise and Shine.
