Transportation Cooperatives: Bilang ng mga sasakyan sa Metro Manila, mababawasan kapag naipatupad na ang PUV Modernization Program

00:00 Let's go back to the story of Bien Manalo earlier where the workers were happy with the news of the continued mass transit of passenger vehicles until dawn.
00:11 This is part of the PUV Modernization Program.
00:15 Bien Manalo is here for the live detail. Bien?
00:22 That's right, Dian. Many of our fellow citizens working from the graveyard shift were happy with the opening of the transportation service in the evening and early morning.
00:35 That is still part of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program of the government.
00:43 In a study conducted by a Dutch multinational company that studies navigation and traffic data, Metro Manila is already showing the worst or the most severe traffic congestion in several metropolises around the world in 2023.
00:58 This is one of the ways for the PUV Modernization Program to be implemented in the Philippines.
01:06 According to Transportation Cooperatives, an attached agency of the Department of Transportation, the number of vehicles in Manila will definitely decrease by the time the PUV Modernization Program is implemented.
01:21 The vehicles that will be released by the cooperatives will be the right ones and the ones that are needed. So, if this is done properly, we will not see that there are too many vehicles, a few passengers, but the number of vehicles for the passengers is just right at that time.
01:43 Transportation Cooperatives also insisted that this is also the reason for the lack of vehicles during rush hour.
01:50 And it is constantly passing by during the evening and early morning that it will be a big help for the workers in the graveyard shift.
01:59 The reaction of some of our fellow citizens up to this point
02:02 It's good because especially for the faraway places, there are workers who are far away and they don't have a hard time getting in and out of work.
02:13 It's very helpful because nowadays it's hard to ride and the line to the buses is long. And at the same time, like me, my out time is at 2 o'clock. So, it's easier for me to go home to my family.
02:33 That's quite good for the grave shifter. It's also a benefit for the grave shifter especially for those who are compromised sometimes, the safety and security of the graveyard workers.
02:50 So, I think the idea is good. Hopefully, justice or chance will be given to the graveyard workers to have that benefit.
03:01 According to the LTFRB, more than 38,000 jeepneys are expected to pass through Metro Manila legally next month.
03:11 And that's the update. Back to you Diana.
03:16 Thank you very much, Bien Manalo.
