Ilkley Toy Museum new exhibition for 2024

00:00 Hi, we're at the Ynclitor Museum. I'm Alex Samuel, I'm the owner of the museum,

00:05 and we're looking at some new exhibits which are out for the 2024 season. We have the

00:13 volunteer boat which is made by American company WS Reid, and this is one of the larger models

00:20 that they did, beautifully lithographed with lots of detail, and it's original sailors on board,

00:27 and flags, beautiful array of flags. Also new for this year are a beautiful automata of a Russian

00:38 lady, and when wound up she plays a lovely tune, moves her head, and pours a nice cup of tea,

00:44 made by Lambert in about 1890. We have new additions to our Humpty Dumpty circus by

00:54 Schoenhut, all about 1920. A couple of new interesting figures, Articulated Monkey,

01:01 and the Gentleman Hobo, both really nice additions to that, what is becoming rather a large circus now.

01:09 Also we have out a wonderful pair of black cloth dolls, probably from Martinique,

01:20 which are quite unique, I've never seen anything like these before, showing the mistress of the

01:26 house and her housekeeper as they go shopping, the housekeeper with her shopping on the top of her

01:33 head, and a little pocket on the front to keep her money in. Housekeeper just slightly dressed

01:40 more plainly than the mistress of the house. There's just some of the things we've got out

01:46 that are new for 2024.
