NUX Mighty Space - Demo | Guitar World

The NUX Mighty Space is a portable, 30-watt stereo wireless modeling guitar amp for electric and acoustic guitars and bass.
But the Mighty Space, as Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario points out in this demo, is also so much more. “It’s an amp, an amp modeler, a multi-effects processor, an amp head, it has a built-in wireless and it comes with a wireless transmitter, a drum machine and a looper,” he says.

00:00 What's up? Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out an incredible modeling guitar, acoustic and bass amplifier
00:06 that will blow you away with its versatility and tone. The Nu-X Mighty Space. Let's check it out.
00:13 [Music]
00:39 So, what is the Nu-X Mighty Space? In a nutshell, it's a powerful and portable 30 watt stereo wireless modeling amp
00:47 for electric and acoustic guitars and bass. But it's many things. It's an amp, an amp modeler, a multi-effects processor, an amp head.
00:56 It has a built-in wireless and comes with a wireless transmitter and a drum machine and looper.
01:03 The amp sounds great as is, but once you pair it with its companion app or use the Mighty Editor software on Mac and PC,
01:11 you have unlimited flexibility with its plethora of features and your tonal possibilities are nearly endless.
01:17 [Music]
01:25 So, what is it that all guitars want? You can agree, we just want to get up and running without any fuss
01:30 and the Mighty Space comes with everything you need to do just that and get started.
01:35 The amp comes with Nu-X's B5 wireless transmitter that works wirelessly up to 100 feet
01:42 and the amp is also battery powered and can last over 7 plus hours off playtime on a single charge.
01:48 It also comes with the NMP2 footswitch for drum and looper control or for switching through presets.
01:55 So, before I even show you and get to the app, let's use this Mighty Space as a standalone amp.
02:01 [Music]
02:15 On the top, you can see all the standard amp controls and for its sound,
02:20 it features dual 4-inch coaxial speakers that are loud and clear.
02:25 [Music]

03:40 So, how does it achieve the realistic amp-like tones?
03:43 Like Nu-X's MG400 modeler, which I reviewed and loved,
03:47 the Mighty Space's Sonic engine houses two powerful DSP chips for Nu-X's high-definition white box amp modeling algorithm
03:56 or TSACHD, which stands for True Simulation of an Analog Circuit and Core Image Post Effects,
04:04 which translates to you're going to feel the difference in playability
04:08 and experience realistic amp and cab sounds from the Mighty Space.
04:13 What's amazing is you can drive external cabinets like a 412 via its speaker out jack.
04:19 [Music]
04:38 So far so good, right?
04:40 Now, let's get to the Mighty Space mobile app.
04:43 [Music]
04:52 Right now, you're looking at the Mighty Space edit window where you have seven presets to choose from,
04:57 which are the same as the amp from which you just heard.
05:00 You can also select by using the active button which presets are active by simply unchecking the other presets.
05:07 This is great if you only need a few presets if you're playing live and just to quickly go through.
05:13 Now, below that, you'll see the signal path block chain with nine processing blocks that you can easily rearrange
05:21 or adjust the order anywhere in the signal path.
05:24 You can even move a delay before the amp or in front of the amp, for example.
05:28 At the moment, I have the amp block open so you can see what model amp I'm currently running
05:34 and the control set of EQ and amp settings to adjust.
05:38 And if you wish to change the amp currently in operation,
05:41 simply touching the amp button will show you a list of 21 model amps to choose from.
05:47 From there, you can select the IR impulse responses block to select 34 premium built-in IRs,
05:54 which include guitar cabs, bass guitar cabs, acoustic guitar IRs, and chop tone IRs.
06:00 And scrolling down further, you'll see an additional 20 user slots for third-party IR loading.
06:06 You can select other blocks to choose from and edit parameters from over 43 effects that include gates,
06:14 compressors, modulation, reverb delays, EQs, and EFX, which includes overdrives, boosts, distortions, and fuzz.
06:22 And if you wish to tweak any of the presets or create your own, don't forget to hit save.
06:27 Moreover, if you'd rather use your computer, you can, and get even more tones and IRs from the Mighty Space
06:34 by using Nu-X's intuitive Mighty Editor software for your Mac or PC computer.
06:39 Nu-X is consistent in firmware updates, so you can pretty much bank on Nu-amps and cab sims at some point.
06:45 Just keep on checking Nu-X's online page and Facebook page and groups.
06:49 Next up is the drum machine with a bunch of patterns and genres to play along to.
06:54 And you can control volume, EQ, and tempo, or tap the tempo if you wish.
06:59 Moving over to the looper, you have total control.
07:14 And again, both the drum and looper have foot-switchable control.
07:23 [Drums]
07:39 The Mighty Space's USB-C port allows live streaming for computers and mobile phones,
07:45 and supports normal, dry-out, re-amp, and loop-back routing.
07:50 Finally, there's the Jam Track section, where there are backing tracks and artist tracks to play along to and with,
07:56 and you can even add your own custom tracks.
07:59 One of the coolest features here is you're able to change presets within a track.
08:03 This is called adding events.
08:05 Simply click on the overwrite icon to the right, find the timecode, or move within the song,
08:11 and hit the add button, which prompts you to pick one of your presets to embed.
08:15 You can keep doing this as much as you like, or remove it by clicking the trash icon or the clear all button.
08:22 What's great is it just allows you to concentrate on playing and swap different sounds on the track.
08:28 [Music]
08:55 The Mighty Space is the total package as a formidable guitar and bass/modeler combo amp
09:01 for players who want to get right down to playing without any fuss and want absolute control over their sound.
09:07 The amp comes with some of the finest guitar tones available,
09:10 and when paired with the mobile app or Mighty Editor software,
09:14 it offers endless versatility to get your playing up to speed or simply laying down music tracks.
09:19 Of course, another huge benefit is its portable design and wireless control
09:23 allows you to take it anywhere from the studio to the stage.
09:27 This is one Mighty amp that many players will be talking about.
09:31 Definitely check it out.
