00:00 Many New Yorkers are so excited to see the snow return. I get it, but there are some travel problems on the road again as we head outside of the city and into the suburbs of New Jersey and out toward the new Long Island as well.
00:11 AccuOthers Bill Waddell is live in Central Park this morning where the action is happening and the snowless streak has officially ended. Bill?
00:18 Yeah, that's right Christina. Good morning. A lot of people out here taking selfies and videos, saying hi. I'm good, how are you?
00:27 This is where meteorologists measured more than an inch of snow on the ground here in Central Park.
00:32 And we're actually getting not just snow, but we're hearing that ting of a little bit of a wintry mix starting to bounce off of our jackets.
00:40 Our AccuWeather exclusive winter pass calling for up to two inches of snow here in the city today.
00:46 And don't be surprised this afternoon, you could see more of that wintry mix and some ice a little bit later this afternoon.
00:53 Now the view, not just here on the ground, but especially up above a few dozen floors up looks pretty impressive with all the snow, especially early this morning.
01:03 We even saw people out here jogging in shorts, but most people are bundled up.
01:07 One of the most excited people to see the snow, Miss Gilman.
01:12 She's a science teacher and her students will be learning all about the ingredients needed for snow to make it to ground level here in the city.
01:22 They're going to be so excited. A few weeks ago when there were just snow flurries, they were like running to the windows.
01:27 Oh my gosh, it's snowing. This is cool. So it's a real treat.
01:31 Right now in our unit on weather and climate, so this fits perfectly into our curriculum.
01:36 It's absolutely beautiful. If you look at Central Park, it's like a picture postcard. It is absolutely lovely.
01:46 Miss Gilman says class is on schedule in the city and at most schools, but she had to walk just over a mile to get to her bus stop in Teaneck, New Jersey for her commute this morning.
01:57 There's a snow emergency there, so she couldn't park at her usual lot to get on the bus.
02:02 Now here in Manhattan, most city streets are just wet.
02:05 They have been heavily salted, but of course there are some road troubles as you've been talking about north and west of the city.
02:11 For people trying to fly in and out of New York, it's been a difficult day.
02:15 LaGuardia and JFK, they are both at the top of the list right now for the most delays and cancellations in the country.
