00:00 Hey Vogue, I'm Quinta Brunson and I'm getting ready for the Emmys.
00:05 You want to come get ready with me? Come on. Come on in.
00:09 The difference between the Emmys last year and this year is, last year was my first everything.
00:21 First time going to the Emmys, first time being nominated for an Emmy,
00:25 first time going to an awards ceremony, period.
00:28 I won't call it overwhelming, but it was whelming.
00:31 And this year, there's a beauty in the relaxation of being like, "Okay, I'm here again. This is nice."
00:37 It makes me think of those actors who just go every year and they're like, "Why do they look so bored?"
00:43 And it's like, because they come here every year. But it's a nice comfort.
00:47 Our show is nominated, my cast, they're nominated, so of course I'm rooting for them.
00:51 If I were to win this year, I would not bring my phone up. It's too distracting.
00:55 I'm asking me to shout them out. My family and friends are very considerate.
00:59 They would never say, "Shout me out," but I can't help it.
01:01 We are in glam right now. This is what happens before you go to an awards show.
01:10 You do this for about two to four hours before you go to a show.
01:16 Last year was our first Emmys, and we're going to stay consistent.
01:20 This is now her signature look. She loves it. We've gotten so many compliments.
01:24 She's been fighting me on it, and now I have complied.
01:27 He's lying. I told him I like this look so much that I want it to be signature.
01:31 I love the way it looks from every angle. He fought me on it.
01:34 Alex is so good at hair that he wants to show off all the different kinds of hair he can do, which he can't.
01:39 But we're going to land on a signature because I think it's important.
01:41 This is called the #2 Combo Quinta Special.
01:45 We talked a little bit about how Quinta wanted to feel, so I took some key words from that,
01:51 which was effortless, timeless, classic.
01:54 Alex said she's been here before, so she wanted to feel like, "I've been here before."
01:59 With the glam, we went simple. Just a classic winged liner that I feel like packs its own power.
02:05 Without changing my face completely, I just don't want to look totally different.
02:10 I think sometimes that can happen where makeup can make us look totally different,
02:16 but I really do like looking like myself.
02:19 - Well, you have beautiful curls, though. - Thank you, bro.
02:22 I think I always look good in the old Hollywood feel.
02:32 I loved Eartha Kitt. I loved Judith Jameson. I love Betty Boop.
02:38 I know that's a cartoon, but big eyes, big ass head.
02:43 I always felt very inspired by her.
02:47 Honestly, I was more inspired when we landed on this Dior dress.
02:50 It just has that classic feel to me, but it's very modern at the same time,
02:55 which is what I like to bring to the table. I think I like to bring that to the table through my art.
03:00 I like to do stories when I dress people, so for this weekend, we chose something a little more old Hollywood.
03:08 We chose a beautiful Christian Dior haute couture piece.
03:11 What that means is it's a haute couture dress. It is one of one.
03:15 So a client can actually buy this dress off the runway and nobody else can get it.
03:20 More importantly is look at this fabric. It is supposed to be crinkled.
03:25 That is the beauty of this dress.
03:28 You know, some people, the haters are going to say, "Oh my God, why didn't she steam?"
03:31 We've steamed. This is the beauty of the fabric as well as the draping.
03:36 Draping, Madame Gray did it beautifully, and Christian Dior does it beautifully.
03:41 That is an art. The inside is absolutely beautiful.
03:45 It is one, two, three corsets inside.
03:48 It's the netting that actually makes the beauty of the dress.
03:52 Quinta chose a beautiful Christian Louboutin shoe that we did get dyed.
03:56 These are going to hurt at the end of the night, but they are quite beautiful.
04:00 I feel great. I feel like everything we talked about.
04:05 I feel classy and classy, and second Emmy's around.
04:09 I don't know, I feel like a little princess.
04:13 When I first saw this dress, I wasn't immediately like, "Oh, that one."
04:17 I saw the color and I was like, "Oh, that's a pretty color. Let's see about that dress."
04:22 Then we put it on and something just felt like all of the things I was describing.
04:27 Alright guys, thank you so much for getting ready with me to go to the Emmy's.
04:34 Now we have to go to the Emmy's, so bye Vogue. Thanks for joining me.
