The People’s Palace and Winter Gardens has been awarded £850,000 worth of funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

The money is intended to go towards a restoration project which will see renovation and preservation works throughout the building to protect the museum and community space for future generations.

This is expected to cost £35.9 million in total.

Next, the entire contents of the former Debenhams store on Argyle Street is set to go to auction.

The shop was closed permanently at the start of 2021 while the building is now set for redevelopment.

The auction will include mannequins, furniture and unsold goods.

And finally, the Ted Baker in Princes Square is set to close after operating for 36 years in the centre.

Bosses have said they are searching for a more affordable unit.
