More scintillating action as we start to approach the business end of #Dakar2024 . These are the highlights from Stage 10 in AlUla as Ricky Brabec took an important victory to strengthen his overall lead with two stages remaining. Meanwhile Frenchman Guerlain Chicherit scored his first win at this year's Dakar in the Ultimate class and his compatriot Sebastien Loeb cut overall leader Carlos Sainz' advantage down by more the 7 minutes to 13'22" ahead of the final two stages.

00:00 (September 2016, France)
00:05 On board with Xavier Dessoutre and Martin Bonnet yesterday
00:09 as they passed the only remaining pair who could realistically stop them winning this Dakar.
00:14 - Are you OK? - Yes, I'm OK.
00:21 - We have to be careful. - Yes.
00:26 We don't care.
00:29 Y left, 260.
00:31 - Is it him? - No, it's not him.
00:36 It's the Portuguese.
00:38 It's perfect.
00:40 Let's go, we're not stopping.
00:42 Y left, 260.
00:44 We can still win the Dakar.
00:45 - That means you can handle it a bit more. - Yes.
00:49 Let's go.
00:51 Yes!
00:55 Let's go.
00:56 Let's calm down.
00:57 (Day 13, Dakar)
01:01 Welcome to Day 13 of Dakar 46.
01:05 Coming up, another top three takeover on Stage 10
01:09 and Honda wonder if they can shut out the final podium.
01:12 It's howdy-howdy as they prove teamwork can make the dream work
01:16 but another flex from BRX who haven't given up yet.
01:20 In the closest of all the categories, Anduka says au revoir to Alexander
01:24 and stretches his lead.
01:27 Engines on, take a deep breath.
01:29 Roadbooks at the ready and even if it takes all day,
01:32 let's just drive and let's just ride.
01:35 It's Aloha Alula again.
01:43 Here six times so far.
01:45 This time it's a loop.
01:46 614km including the liaison with 371 racing kilometres.
01:51 With the final day being a short special with few dangers,
01:55 Stages 10 and 11 are the last realistic chances for an assault on the title.
02:00 Rikki Brabeck, number one overall and number one today.
02:03 The American and his Honda appear to be unbeatable but it's not over yet.
02:08 Adrian did a good job and I'm really happy to be at the finish Stage 10.
02:15 So with two days left, the team's looking really strong
02:18 and I'm 100% right now.
02:20 For the second day running, it was a Honda 123,
02:24 Van Beveren third, 20 seconds back.
02:27 And Nacho Corneco and him are fighting for the podium.
02:30 Another impressive ride from the Chilean.
02:32 Ross Branch lost another 3 minutes 45.
02:38 He must be looking over his shoulder now at the red and black pair
02:41 trying to displace him.
02:42 Rikki is a step up the level and he's doing well
02:51 and it's going to be hard to catch him but we've still got one more long day
02:54 and we'll see how it goes.
02:56 Yesterday we spoke to Harit Noah, the Indian Rally 2 rider
03:01 who's gone through the whole Dakar without knowing his results.
03:04 Well, he doesn't know but today he finished top of the class in Rally 2
03:07 and fifth overall. A phenomenal performance.
03:10 If you're looking for signs, Rikki Brabeck has been top 7 every day
03:15 but hadn't won a stage till today, similar to Kevin Benavidez last year.
03:19 And he wears the number 9 just like he did in 2020.
03:22 I haven't done any Dakars. This is my first, yeah.
03:26 The days are a lot longer and we cover way more distance than I expected.
03:32 I do keep looking at the results because I do want to do my best.
03:46 Having kind of fun but it makes me very tired.
03:49 You know, the original bi-motor is very tough discipline.
03:53 When I do freestyle I know what to expect here.
03:56 I have no idea what is under the ground or where some stone is going to be hidden
04:01 or what's in the next corner. So, it's full of surprises.
04:06 Alright, bye bye.
04:09 Rikki Brabeck has ridden for 44 race hours in total since the start of the rally.
04:14 Spare a thought for Xavier De Bosch who's done 90 hours.
04:18 But it matters not to the Catalan. He's riding with the All One Team,
04:22 a group of friends here in memory of their friend Alex Libre who died in 2017.
04:27 Alex's twin brother Carlos is also here. Some things mean more.
04:32 Rikki took today's stage in the bikes and in the T4s his girlfriend of 5 years,
04:37 Sarah Price, won her first special.
04:40 In doing so, she became only the third woman ever to win a stage at the Dakar
04:45 after Jutta Kleinschmidt and Cristina Gutierrez.
04:48 Price is running out of time to emulate Kleinschmidt's overall win in 2001 though.
04:56 De Soultre's lead is still 20 minutes.
04:59 This is how things look with two days left.
05:08 Destiny remains in the hands of Manuel Andujar in the quads.
05:12 He's now nearly 9 minutes ahead of Alexandre Giroud.
05:15 The defending champion needs a huge effort tomorrow.
05:18 Toyota Gazoo Racing occupy 4 places in the top 10 of the ultimates.
05:33 There are 6 Toyota cars in the top 10.
05:35 There are 6 Toyota Hiluxes there in total.
05:38 But as in the last 2 years in the T3s, the American Seth Quintero dropped out of contention
05:44 despite some fleeting good results.
05:46 Today though, he played good Samaritan.
05:54 Having launched himself off this ledge and damaged his suspension,
05:57 which made him retire from the stage,
05:59 the 21-year-old American ran back to the offending jump
06:03 and warned the next driver through of the danger.
06:06 That next driver through was Eugenio Amos of Overdrive Racing.
06:12 Carlos Sainz ran into trouble with punctures.
06:19 The Spaniard had already picked up 2 and got a third.
06:22 Carlos had 3 punctures and he only had 2 good wheels,
06:25 so Mathias had to give him new wheels.
06:28 It wasn't supposed to be super hard today or a particularly demanding stage,
06:32 but actually there were loads and loads of punctures.
06:35 Audi's team tactics paid off, with Mathias Ekstrom on hand to provide assistance
06:41 and more specifically those spare tyres.
06:44 Then Stefan Pederhansel arrived, Sainz got going again,
06:47 but lost about 7 minutes to Loeb, ending the stage 25th.
07:00 Guillaume de Mevius was another who suffered with puncture problems.
07:03 He's 4th overall.
07:05 Today he was just ahead of Saoud Varyawa, the youngest driver at the Dakar.
07:09 He's just 18.
07:11 Seb Loeb sped past the Belgian on his way to, not another win, but more punctures.
07:17 Loeb finished 16th on the special,
07:19 but made the 7 minutes he needs each day to catch Sainz by a yamboo.
07:25 (BRAZILIAN CHAMPIONS)
07:27 It was a difficult day for all the top names, including Brazilian Lucas Moraes,
07:48 but he has a 25-minute gap in 3rd overall, ahead of de Mevius.
07:53 Carlos Sainz has made an official complaint against Romain Dumas,
07:57 who he claims blocked him at some point.
07:59 The Spaniard wasn't happy at all at the finish.
08:01 I just lost 7 minutes or 8 minutes.
08:11 I have to wait for Mathias because I was running out of tyres.
08:14 We got back yesterday with a jack problem.
08:20 It was leaking.
08:22 And this morning we arrived late to the start because it was leaking again.
08:25 We got it out, it wouldn't go back in,
08:27 and it's frustrating to lose so much time for something so silly.
08:30 Everyone has something to moan about then it seems,
08:41 but the road doesn't lie and we have two days left of this heavyweight title fight.
08:45 I'll tell you who wasn't moaning today though, Guerlain Chicharit.
08:49 A win, a huge result for the Frenchman,
08:51 who's in a battle for 4th overall.
08:53 He's now ahead of Serradori and 20 minutes adrift of Guillaume de Mevius.
08:57 It's always nice to get a stage win.
09:03 I've been chasing it for a while now.
09:05 It allows me to go up two places overall with 5th,
09:08 and that's exactly where we wanted to be.
09:10 Perhaps we can even go higher.
09:12 In normal circumstances, 3rd.
09:14 I don't think we'll manage that, but we're going to fight.
09:18 Here we go then, with two days left.
09:20 Under 14 minutes between Sainz and Loeb.
09:23 It's looking exciting.
09:24 Bear in mind, Sebastian Loeb does not enter this FIA World Rallyway Championship.
09:28 There are no particular worries for Mitch Guthrie and Kellan Walsh in the challengers.
09:34 They're one day closer to holding their arms aloft in the Ambu.
09:38 They did lead for much of the early part of the day.
09:40 In the end though, Brazilian Marcelo Gastaldi had a clear run to a maiden stage.
09:47 Before today, the best result for Michiel Becks and his Dutch crew in the trucks
09:50 had been 6th on stage 4.
09:52 Today, 3rd.
09:53 Two more days to stay out of trouble for Maciek Tomasek and Zwander.
10:02 The three Czechs will go one better than last year
10:04 and lift that coveted Dakar trophy.
10:06 Cieszku Sink heads up another all-Dutch crew,
10:10 which after a very difficult start to this rally,
10:13 has been getting better and better.
10:14 A 5th, a 6th and now two consecutive wins for the young blood Dakar team.
10:19 Barring disaster, it's all too easy for Martin Maciek,
10:23 who last year won five stages in the trucks.
10:26 In 2022, Red Bull didn't win T3s.
10:29 2021, Manuel Alduca took the quads.
10:32 2020 was the last time Carlos Sainz won.
10:34 And 2019, the last time the final podium was three bikes from the same brand.
10:38 All of that could be repeated as we reach the climax of Dakar 46.
