Prescott Gateway Mall completed a $2.5 million renovation and will reopen as Pine Ridge Marketplace on Jan. 1, 2024. Prescott’s premiere shopping center will transform into a retail, lifestyle and experiential destination with a growing collection of retailers, restaurants, eateries and entertainment venues. 00:00 When I was a teenager I wanted to change my name. My mom said no, but Chris you've

00:06 changed the name of where we are now. I'm here with Chris Lupo. He is the new

00:10 co-owner of what used to be called the Gateway and now new name unveil it.

00:17 Pine Ridge Marketplace. I like it. Yes, well you know we we took ownership of this

00:22 property about a year ago and spending a lot of time doing renovations and

00:27 bringing it back to where it should be. We spent 2023 completed those renovations

00:33 and now you know we thought what better way to get the message across the

00:36 community than to rename to Pine Ridge Marketplace. Because you poured in quite a

00:41 bit of capital. Yes. And what were the improvements that you made? Oh geez.

00:46 Landscaping, lighting, parking lot, heating and air, the list goes on and on.

00:52 Fireplace. Fireplace. Extra hot. You're gonna be introducing the community to a

00:58 lot of events. You want this to be not just a place to shop but to have events

01:03 for the community. So what can some residents expect this year? Well we we

01:08 just came off of Christmas. Had great Christmas events. I met Santa. Halloween

01:12 was a tremendous success. Great turnout. We got Easter around the corner so

01:15 Easter Monday you'll be here taking pictures. We have events like the car

01:19 shows. Coffee and cars every month. Chamber of Commerce holding events and

01:23 we're always looking to expand and work with the community. That's where on our

01:27 website if you follow us on social media you'll be able to see a lot of that. What

01:30 kind of feedback have you gotten from the community? Well it's been great.

01:34 Social media. We're very very happy to have a community like Prescott that is

01:38 vocal because we want to hear from them. Yeah. We want to know what we can do to do

01:41 to do better. So they're glad there's new ownership and they're excited to see

01:46 what plans we have and the new tenants that we're working on. So we're just

01:50 grateful and that's where we've been reaching out to our locals on social

01:55 media. Chris whenever I met I almost called it the old name Pine Ridge

01:59 Marketplace. PRM. I always see a lot of hustle and bustle by Aspire. Yes. For

02:05 those who don't know what it is tell me about that because it seems different.

02:09 They don't have that at every mall. No no not at all. They've done a great job.

02:12 You know indoor pickleball courts now outdoor pickleball courts. They're

02:16 holding tournaments. They have banquet facilities, bowling, golf simulator. The

02:22 list goes on. Food, beverages. Just been a great great place for the community. As

02:26 you can see when you go there it's always busy and we're very very happy to

02:29 have them in the mall. And it's reasonably priced. Like if you're not a

02:33 member but you just want to play pickleball for the day or you're maybe

02:36 traveling just in town for a couple days. It's not as expensive as you might think

02:40 to hang out and play there. And you said bowling. Yeah they have a couple bowling

02:44 lanes in there as well as golf simulators. And I just saw recently a

02:48 jiu-jitsu studio. So they continue to expand and we're we're happy to see that.

02:53 Look out. Yeah. Okay. You get me in there. Sharpen some elbows. A little Brazilian

02:58 jiu-jitsu coming at you. Yeah. That's basically because I'm terrible at

03:02 pickleball. Do you play? A couple times and it's it's addicting. It's great. I know.

03:06 My dad who's 80 plays every single day. Yeah. Now for somebody like him this

03:11 would be great because you're indoors. But you could also play outdoors. Play outdoors as

03:15 well. And for the temperature here in Prescott to have that flexibility is

03:19 just a huge bonus. Yes. Right. Because there are seasons here unlike some places

03:23 in Arizona. Y'all do have some seasons. So you can come in, enjoy community events,

03:30 shopping and of course behind us is is the food court. You can't have a

03:33 shopping center without a food court. No. No. And we're working on some new lounge

03:37 areas, new furnishings in the food court, some charging stations and just make it

03:42 comfortable for people to come and enjoy, read a book, you know be able to meet a

03:45 friend and stay. I love that. This is America. If you and your teenagers and

03:52 their friends can't just hang out and lounge at the mall and use the free Wi-Fi

03:56 then what's the point? Yep. If people want more information tell us where to look.
