20:51 - Yeah, I would have been surprised
20:53 if they would have allowed him to continue that round.
20:54 I mean, and it's not the fact that the eye was bad.
20:57 Listen, we both have bad eyes in fights.
20:58 We kept fighting, but we weren't getting hit
21:00 as clean and as often as Robles,
21:02 but that was the problem.
21:04 - Also, it's not a championship fight.
21:05 It's not that, you know,
21:08 you're not making that kind of money in this fight.
21:10 There's not--there is a lot on the line
21:12 every single time you fight as a fighter,
21:13 but this isn't that level.
21:16 And, you know, you don't want to have a career-risking injury
21:19 in a fight of this level where, you know,
21:22 we don't give you the championship fights here.
21:23 We give you great fights, as you guys know at home,
21:25 but at the same time,
21:27 safety is--always has to be prioritized here
21:30 in all sports, especially in combat sport.
21:32 - Stopped for the first time as a professional,
21:37 Eric Robles,
21:40 as Tapia came out fast.
21:44 - Came out fast and finished strong.
21:45 - Yep. - Did Tapia, but Robles, man,
21:47 ton of heart, very, very game.
21:50 Came back in some of those middle rounds
21:52 with some beautiful combinations
21:53 when he was answering Tapia's--
21:55 nice, good right hand there from Robles.
21:57 And Robles was game throughout,
21:59 and I said, like I said, in those middle rounds,
22:00 started to find his rhythm a little bit.
22:02 There you see a nice uppercut,
22:03 scrapes the face of Tapia,
22:05 but it was that left hook to the body
22:06 that really got the attention of Tapia
22:09 in that fourth round.
22:12 And then, bang, these right hands from Tapia.
22:14 Came out that fifth round, said,
22:15 "Listen, I'm on a different level.
22:17 I'm gonna show it."
22:18 And it was target practice that entire round
22:20 from Tapia as he was targeting that eye,
22:23 that damaged left eye with those right hands
22:25 and beautiful uppercuts.
22:27 And I think the doctors did the right thing
22:31 by stopping that fight, 'cause that eye was gruesome.
22:34 - Ladies and gentlemen,
22:36 on the advice of the doctor,
22:38 referee Gene Delbianco has stopped this fight
22:42 at the end of round five.
22:44 Your winner, by technical knockout,
22:49 and still undefeated,
22:52 Cesar Mateo "El Tijuanaro" Tapia!
22:57 [cheers and applause]
23:00 - Big win for Cesar Mateo Tapia.
23:05 And the biggest thing is the trust he had
23:09 in Justin Fortune in the corner, Pauly,
23:11 because we could all see that he clearly made an adjustment,
23:16 and that was the beginning,
23:17 the true beginning of the end.
23:18 - Yes, when you fight a disciplined fight,
23:20 good things happen, and he started fighting
23:21 in a very disciplined manner,
23:23 held a good game plan, and, uh,
23:25 he's a good guy, and he's a good fighter.
