05:42 So we hope that the Philippine side will stay committed to the One China Policy
05:47 and respect China's internal affairs and handle the Taiwan question prudently.
05:54 In this issue, it seems that the issue is not yet over.
05:58 After Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro called the first statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry
06:04 regarding the issue that it seems that it was dismissed in an insult to President Bongbong Marcos and the whole country.
06:11 The Chinese Foreign Ministry has now responded.
06:14 It said that it will not accept any kind of insult against Taiwan and will fight it.
06:20 It also urged the Philippines to comply with the One China Principle
06:26 and to stop using the wrong terms and actions against Taiwan.
06:31 The DFA or Malacanang has no new statement for now.
06:36 For GMA Integrated News, JP Soriano, 24 Hours.

06:43 And good news, the pension that will be received by the poor senior citizen will double from January.
06:51 But there is still a problem in the distribution of what and how much the new pension will be.
06:56 Let's find out in the coverage of Ivan Mayrina.
06:58 [music]
07:01 At the age of 62, they say that they are facing a big challenge for Laudencio Arabe.
07:06 They have a brother and sister, but he has no job and no one to rely on for his expenses.
07:11 It's good that he's a senior citizen.
07:13 That's why he is helped by 500 pesos per month social pension.
07:17 It's helpful, but not enough.
07:20 It's really not enough. Sometimes I owe my maintenance, food, and even my money.
07:25 That's why Laudencio is very happy with the news of the DSWD that their pension is being increased for poor senior citizens like him.
07:33 Good news, from 500 pesos last year, it will be doubled. It will be 1,000 pesos per month.
07:40 More than 4 million senior citizens will benefit from the program that was promised of 50 billion pesos.
07:45 It will start in January, but like before, it will not be released for a month.
07:50 It will still be collected every two or six months.
07:55 It will not be transferred to the National Commission of Senior Citizens or NCSC, like what is expected in the law.
08:02 The law has a directive that says within the three years, it will be transferred to NCSC.
08:07 And we want to say to NCSC that we are ready.
08:11 Whatever is administratively viable that the DSWD is doing, they are doing.
08:17 On our end, we are studying because we want, if possible, because of the law,
08:22 they should be given monthly.
08:25 NCSC has updated its own database to ensure that all the rights should be reached.
08:32 They also went around the establishments to ensure that their discount is correct for the seniors.
08:38 For GMA Integrated News, Ivan Mayrin, Akatutok, 24 Hours.
08:44 More than 300 routes in Metro Manila have non-consolidated jeepneys, according to the LTFRB's list.
08:52 Despite that, the agency does not worry that the number of commuters who can ride is lacking since February.
08:59 Akatutok's Joseph Moro.
09:01 The Land Transportation Office or LTO is used to arrest the unconsolidated traditional jeeps since February 1.
09:11 Until January 31, the franchisees of traditional jeeps can only ride.
09:16 The impounding areas in Metro Manila and Region 3 and 4A are also ready.
09:22 The list of registered units is being prepared to know who will be arrested on February 1.
09:28 According to the LTO and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB,
09:33 more than 40,000 were given by the franchisees in Metro Manila, but only 22,000 were registered.
09:40 That's why it's possible that 20,000 color rooms are running in Metro Manila.
09:45 Either they don't let us run or they let us run but we're in a color room.
09:51 But the LTFRB thinks that the unregistered units are not on the streets anymore.
09:56 That's why they're looking at only more than 600 unconsolidated traditional units from more than 22,000 registered jeeps.
10:05 According to the LTFRB, more than 300 routes in Metro Manila have unconsolidated jeeps.
10:14 Some of these routes are trips from Atapuntang Divisoria to Manila, from Camuning to Quezon City to Manila,
10:22 and jeeps to Quezon City, Pasig, Makati and Paranaque, but they can only ride in Edsa.
10:29 Edsa is a route that is on East Avenue, BIR Avenue and Quezon Avenue.
10:35 It's a route that is not consolidated yet.
10:38 Many students and workers are hoping for this route.
10:42 But according to the LTFRB, they will not allow unconsolidated jeeps to pass from February 1.
10:51 The LTFRB is not worried that there will be a shortage of public vehicles.
10:58 Those are small routes.
11:00 These are secondary routes that are being passed by other buses.
11:06 In the first two weeks of February, LTFRBs are allowed to ride in the streets if there are roads that are lacking vehicles.
11:14 The 600 unconsolidated vehicles can still join the established corporations and cooperatives.
11:21 If they really don't want to pass, according to the LTO, they can still use traditional jeeps as private jeeps.
11:28 You need to drop your unit in your franchise.
11:31 If there is no franchise, you need to register as a private vehicle.
11:37 He doesn't need his motor anymore.
11:40 He doesn't need it anymore.
11:41 Well, you need to pass a motor vehicle inspection.
11:45 For GMA Integrated News, Joseph Morong, for Tutok 24 Hours.
11:50 Some motorists blocked the road to the other side of the Edsa Busway in Mandaluyong City.
11:56 What they don't know is that there are people waiting for the MMDA.
12:00 Raffi Tima is in Tutok.
12:01 The MMDA has been in operation for three months against those who pass through Edsa Busway.
12:09 But until now, there are still many motorists who do not remember.
12:13 In Edsa Siobulibard Underpass, motorists are blocking the road to the other side of the Edsa Busway.
12:20 But before they reach Edsa Siobulibard, they are already returning to the right lane.
12:28 At the end of the underpass, there is a waiting MMDA.
12:31 Many of the people who are caught are just passing by the busway.
12:39 Most of them are surprised when they hear how much they need to pay.
12:44 Sir, this is a bit heavy. It's P5,000.
12:47 I have no idea, sir. I just drove here, sir.
12:52 The motorists are confused, especially those who are riding a motorcycle, about why they are passing through Edsa Busway.
12:58 Sir, I was avoiding the busway. I was avoiding the bus lane.
13:03 I know, but I feel like it's a bit spacious. If I don't pass through, I'll just get hit by a truck.
13:10 According to the MMDA, private vehicles are being reduced who are passing through the busway.
13:16 But when there is traffic, some of them cannot stop and they get lost.
13:20 They can only make their journey faster.
13:22 Whether there is a barrier or not, we know that it is prohibited to enter there.
13:27 So as motorists, we should know what is right and what is prohibited.
13:32 We need discipline to have a smooth flow in our traffic system.
13:38 In Mandaluyong, traffic enforcers are helping to fix the traffic lane
13:43 while fixing the Telco posts for the LGU's underground cable project.
13:48 It seems that motorists who are fond of crossing the traffic lane are not well-mannered.
13:52 They prefer to pass through the motorists' lane.
13:55 The traffic they want to avoid is getting worse.
13:59 Some motorists are not disciplined and the road is narrow.
14:03 Don't wonder why the problem is getting worse.
14:07 For GMA Integrated News, Rafi Tima reporting for 24 Hours.
14:13 In Cabana, Quezon City District 2, we were able to submit signature forms
14:23 to the identified body of a deceased person in Pamayanan or Dampa.
14:28 It is a group of people from Maralit, Tagalong Sod.
14:31 They were willing to hide their identity.
14:34 But he said that before October, they already held the forms to submit signatures
14:40 that they are supporting the amendment of the Legal Act and doing joint voting of the Senate and the House of Representatives to change this.
14:47 It is not easy to submit signatures when there are five to six people.
14:52 Where did the forms come from?
14:53 We have a lot of forms. We just played with them and upgraded them.
14:58 More than 20,000 signatures were submitted,
15:01 more than the number of signatures that are needed for District 2, said the group.
15:07 When the signatures of Comeleque Quezon City District 2 were accepted,
15:10 they immediately submitted it and now they are counting it.
15:14 They will issue a certification on how many signatures they have received.
15:19 But Comeleque said that this is not yet the end because there will be a process called verification of the signatures.
15:28 According to Comeleque, they have the power to remove the names and signatures that are not consistent with their record.
15:34 A person from Comeleque can request to remove their signature if they don't want to be part of the People's Initiative, but they were allowed to sign.
15:45 The local Comeleque can remove it.
15:47 Comeleque will also consider the allegations that the signatures were bought or signed illegally.
15:54 Celbay First District Representative Edsel Lagman,
15:57 against the People's Initiative, has a comment on the so-called 3 percent of the signatures of the people in his district.
16:05 Whether sufficient or not, it is irrelevant to the procedure of gathering signatures and it is tainted by both payings.
16:17 The signature forms that Comeleque received from different parts of the country,
16:21 from more than 600 cities and municipalities, or less than half of its total number.
16:28 The legislative district in the whole country is 253.
16:33 Each district should have a signature equivalent to 3 percent of its voters.
16:39 A requirement in the law that is not easy to apply, according to Comeleque.
16:43 Only one district can say that without 3 percent, the pre-visito will not continue,
16:51 the People's Initiative will not give even if 12 percent of the total number of signatures were obtained in the whole country.
16:58 For GMA Integrated News, Sandra Aguinaldo, for Tutok 24 Horas.
17:03 Home is where the heart is.
17:10 Tested and proven.
17:12 Alden Richards was able to stop the bonding of the family in the US for the holidays and his birthday.
17:18 Now, he is busy with the mall fun duties.
17:20 That's the story of Nelson Canlas.
17:22 This past Christmas, Alden Richards' mind was more open to the importance of the whole family's cohesion.
17:33 Because it was the first time that his family was able to travel to America.
17:41 That's why his siblings and father were so emotional when they returned to the Philippines.
17:47 It was the first time that I experienced not being homesick.
17:51 I said, "I feel like I'm going to die."
17:56 It's been two weeks to think.
17:58 The first three days when I'm out of the country without family, I just want to go home.
18:02 So, that's how it is.
18:04 That's what you're really saying, that where your family is, your home is there.
18:09 Happy birthday to you.
18:12 Best birthday ever for Asia's Multimedia Star, it was on January 2.
18:18 Because of their simple bonding.
18:21 Most of my birthdays lately, because I'm away from them.
18:24 I'm not with them all.
18:25 My dad and two siblings and two sisters.
18:27 But this is my first birthday that I had a birthday, even my brother.
18:31 We're complete.
18:32 For now, Alden is a member of the Board of Trustees of MUBI Workers Welfare Foundation, Inc. or MUBI Fund.
18:41 He is a partner of the late prime time king, Dindong Dantes,
18:45 in several projects to help the workers of the shoebiz industry.
18:50 I've reached the point of my age and my career that somehow,
18:55 I'm looking for a purpose with everything that I do.
19:00 And of course, the priority is really to give back.
19:06 And being part of Mobile Fund, I think, is God's blessing.
19:09 Because this is one of the platforms and avenues where I can really practice that kind of intention in our industry.
19:19 What else is more fitting than giving back than Mobile Fund?
19:22 Since Mobile Fund takes care of our workers in the industry, the actors as well.
19:28 Nelson Canlas, updated on the shoebiz happening.
19:31 We're updated on the tragedy in Davao de Oro where seven people were killed due to the heavy rain.
19:41 The forced evacuation was carried out there and live from the town of Mungkayo,
19:47 Kent Abregana of GMA Regional TV 1 in Danao.
19:51 Kent.
19:56 Vicky, 12 people were buried in Mount Diwata in Mungkayo, Davao de Oro.
20:02 Seven confirmed dead to date.
20:04 The water is still flowing.
20:09 You can see in this video the small stones that are falling from the road.
20:13 The ground is getting heavier.
20:16 This was taken by one of the residents of Purok 19 Pag-asa, Mount Diwata in Mungkayo, Davao de Oro.
20:22 A few hours before the ground was completely shaking.
20:25 The shaking of the ground never stopped.
20:27 It looks like this.
20:30 And the water was overflowing to 12 people.
20:33 According to the initial information of LGU Mungkayo, seven were killed, four are still being searched.
20:39 While the critical condition of the hospital is getting worse year by year.
20:43 Julius' wife is also in the hospital.
20:46 It's a miracle that they're still alive.
20:49 I saw my wife crying.
20:53 She was crying because she was worried that they were still alive.
20:59 They were praying and worshipping in a house that had a landslide.
21:03 It was past 11 in the morning.
21:05 They were dancing because their host was coming down.
21:11 I was praying. When they came out, I was praying.
21:17 I was with my child. I didn't have a yoga.
21:20 It was raining.
21:21 They were dancing for half an hour.
21:25 They were praying and worshipping.
21:29 They were dancing.
21:31 The retrieval operation was difficult because the ground and the roof of the two houses were covered.
21:37 I was praying. I was praying.
21:46 We immediately started the search, rescue and retrieval operation.
21:49 But because it was still raining heavily, we stopped it.
21:53 Because it was not safe for our rescuers.
21:57 According to LGU Mungkayo, they will carry out a forced evacuation to Mount Tiwata.
22:04 For now, the labina are in R.H.Mungkayo.
22:07 Vicky, for now, LGU Mungkayo is still investigating the identity of the bodies that were retrieved.
22:19 If the weather is good tomorrow, the retrieval operation will continue for the missing or four missing individuals.
22:27 Vicky.
22:28 Thank you very much, Kent Abregana of GMA Regional TV 1 Mindanao.
22:33 [Music]
22:39 Kapuso, are your jackets, jackets and other winter clothes already out?
22:43 The weather is very hot.
22:45 It is very hot in many places in the country today.
22:48 According to the forecast, the temperature in Baguio City fell to 13 degrees Celsius this morning.
22:53 17.4 degrees Celsius in Vasco Batanes and 18 degrees Celsius in Casiguran Aurora.
22:59 Here in Metro Manila, the science garden in Quezon City recorded 20.1 degrees Celsius.
23:04 The lowest temperature this year.
23:08 In the next few days, the temperature in Metro Manila may drop to 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.
23:14 This cold climate is still due to the windstorm or North-East Monsoon that affects Luzon and Visayas.
23:20 But don't worry because it is also possible that it will bring rain.
23:25 In the meeting of cold and hot winds, the shear line in Mindanao continues to flow.
23:30 Based on the data of Metro Weather, there are light to moderate rains in Carraga, Davao Oriental and Davao de Oro this morning.
23:36 Be careful, Kapuso, because the land is soft, so the landslide is possible.
23:41 The rain will continue in the afternoon and will also rain in the other parts of Davao Region and Misamis Occidental.
23:47 It will decrease in the evening.
23:49 In Visayas, there is also rain in the morning in Leyte Provinces in particular.
23:53 In Southern Leyte, Aklan, Capiz and Negros Occidental, the chance of rain is low in the afternoon.
23:58 But be prepared for localized thunderstorms.
24:01 In Luzon, it will also rain in the morning in Cagayan, Aurora and Quezon.
24:05 It will continue in the afternoon and will also rain in Cordillera Administrative Region and Mindoro Provinces.
24:12 Here in Metro Manila, the chance of rain is still there.
24:16 It will be dangerous and it is not safe to sail on the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
24:25 The weather will continue to get colder, according to the forecast.
24:29 If the weather is bad, some people are using the cold weather to sail.
24:38 Let's find out where this is in Ian Cruz's report.
24:41 Mountains that are covered in clouds.
24:47 The scenery is bleak.
24:50 And the living creatures are rich in nature.
24:55 Now, they are more comfortable to enjoy because of the cold weather.
24:59 That's why even on weekdays, I have accompanied some people to walk in Tanay Rizal.
25:04 Nakim and Mark decided to celebrate their first wedding anniversary here.
25:10 They also rented a rest home in the sky because of the view.
25:14 It's cold. Good weather.
25:18 We are from the Philippines so it's different.
25:21 Because of the scenery, the scenery is beautiful and the weather is good.
25:28 So, it's perfect for a staycation.
25:31 The return from England, Sileti Booth, is also beautiful because of the beauty of Tanay.
25:37 Heaven.
25:39 It's beautiful. You can see left and right. Nature.
25:45 When the weather is cold like this, it's really good to just enjoy the view of the mountains and the clouds.
25:51 And of course, I'm drinking a hot cup of coffee.
25:53 That's why in a coffee shop here in Tanay, coffee lovers are here at any time.
26:03 They are also walking and taking photos.
26:07 There is also a campsite where you can stay overnight.
26:11 The cold weather is not bad.
26:13 I reached Pamipamilya or Barkabarkada because of the clean air that is not in the city.
26:20 Dan Pangilinan and his family have been here for 10 days.
26:24 Here, if it's not windy, in the morning, you can see sea of clouds.
26:30 It's like you're above the clouds.
26:32 Usually, sir, the degrees is 21 to 19.
26:37 You really need to wear a jacket sometimes because it's really cold.
26:41 And earlier, it was 8am and it even went above 18.1 degrees Celsius.
26:47 But the coldest season this year is the one in Latrinidad, Benguet, which went above 10.8 degrees Celsius.
26:57 For GMA Integrated News, Ian Cruz has the latest news for 24 hours.
27:03 The picture of the winner of the 642 lottery that was edited by the PCSO, which is legit even if we edited it, became a hit.
27:12 But that's not an issue anymore, according to a senator who wants to be sure that there is a winner in another draw.
27:20 Mark Salazar was on the spot.
27:25 The PCSO should have just released an ordinary photo to show that there is a winner of P43 million in the 642 lottery on December 28.
27:35 But the netizens zoomed in.
27:40 They immediately thought that their picture with Betor was edited and that it was receiving its prize.
27:46 The PCSO reached the netizens with fake news.
27:51 Kesio, did the PCSO save money on Photoshop?
27:55 They said congrats. It's not obvious that the editor is good.
27:58 Lucky color of the year was added to Lucky Betor's hair and it also looks like a star witness.
28:05 The senators continued to ask PCSO General Manager Mel Robles if this photo was edited.
28:13 This picture is very controversial on social media. It was edited.
28:19 Yes, your honor.
28:21 Edited. Why was it edited?
28:23 We have to protect the identity of the winner.
28:27 Someone complained to us one time. We covered the face and the clothes were recognized.
28:33 I agreed. It's a very poor editing.
28:35 But the objective is to conceal the clothing that identifies him.
28:39 There is something apologizes the poor editing.
28:43 The picture was edited only with the clothes and hair color. But it was really 47-year-old Lucky Betor,
28:50 the housewife of San Jose del Monte Bulacan.
28:54 The senator is okay with the issue of edited picture.
28:58 He wants to know who won P690 million yesterday in the P655 lottery.
29:07 In the executive session, I need to know who won.
29:12 Because there are news that you threw the winner.
29:18 So I need the name and identity of the winner.
29:25 If I hire a private detective,
29:27 for example, after I hire a private detective and it's really traced,
29:35 I will say this.
29:38 Let's make it a strictly executive session.
29:42 Even on the part of the Senate, the attendees are limited.
29:45 This is our identity.
29:47 Of course, we are liable to be the source of the leakage.
29:52 The winner of P690 million yesterday is not yet claimed.
29:57 But the PCSO will give the name to the senators when Lucky Betor faces them.
30:04 We will put a record on that. If you will subpoena, we can provide the name.
30:09 To remove the leak, we want to see if he's a real person.
30:16 Tulfo also wants the PCSO to ban all lottery tickets and small town lottery.
30:25 The process may be delayed again.
30:28 For GMA Integrated News, Mark Salazar, 24 Hours.
30:34 Senator Mig Zubiri is ready to accept his Senate President if the legal provisions of the Constitution are changed.
30:43 MAV Gonzales is on the scene.
30:45 In the resolution of Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri,
30:52 the amendment of the Constitution is being pushed for the provisions that have to do with the opening of the economy to the people.
31:00 In the middle of some sectors' arguments that if the Charter Change is opened, there will be a significant political change,
31:08 Zubiri said in an expression that he will leave his position as Senate President.
31:14 They have no other motive.
31:16 Zubiri also said that almost all of the Senators he talked to are in favor of the economic amendments,
31:23 so the public does not have to worry about their proposal of a simple and radical change to the Constitution.
31:30 Zubiri also said that the Senate will not allow the passing of political amendments to the House of Representatives.
31:36 Senator Jingoy Estrada said that they fully support the Senate President.
31:41 He added that if the Constitution is changed through the People's Initiative or P.I.,
31:47 like what the people behind the signing of the Charter,
31:50 it is not only the economic provisions that will be affected.
31:54 Under the resolution of the Senate, the Senate and the House of Representatives will sit as a Constituent Assembly to implement the Charter Change.
32:02 Everything is possible if everything is opened, especially if we have the People's Initiative.
32:10 There is a possibility that it will be opened.
32:15 And we do not have control over the People's Initiative.
32:21 What they want is voting jointly, they want a unicameral system of government.
32:30 He asked those behind the People's Initiative to stop the signing of the Charter,
32:35 especially those who have allegations of money in exchange for the signing of the Charter.
32:39 But Senate Minority Leader Coco Pimentel was surprised by the sudden passage of the Charter Change to the Senate.
32:46 He has many questions about the process,
32:48 like why the Subcommittee led by Senator Sonny Angara, now the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments,
32:56 was under Senator Robin Padilla.
32:58 How can we be surprised that we were signed by the People's Initiative?
33:03 That must have been a knee-jerk reaction. Relax. Let's see. In the past seven months, there's no need to have reacted that way.
33:14 Suddenly, the Senate is dancing cha-cha.
33:17 SP Zubiri replied that the Senate did not sign the People's Initiative.
33:22 After their consultation with the economic team and the President,
33:26 it turned out that a lot of foreign direct investment was invested because there are cases in the Supreme Court that question the Public Services Act.
33:34 That's why it's best to return the provisions in the Constitution about the national patrimony
33:40 to clarify the constitutionality of the law.
33:43 For GMA Integrated News, Mav Gonzales, for 24 Hours.
33:50 To all OFWs who want to stay in the Philippines, you can earn while helping with tourism.
33:57 The government has a program to train you in the possible businesses.
34:02 And Maris Umali was right.
34:04 Greener pastures is usually the reason why our countrymen are going abroad.
34:13 But there are overseas Filipino workers who are also returning to their country.
34:17 They were the ones who were helped by the program of the Department of Tourism and the Department of Migrant Workers,
34:22 the Balikbayani sa Turismo Program.
34:24 The goal of this is to give opportunities to our countrymen,
34:29 our returning OFWs to have various skills in the tourism industry
34:36 so that they can have an economic opportunity when they return to the Philippines.
34:41 You can choose from various training programs depending on the interest and ability of the returning OFWs.
34:48 Like the Micro Retail Tourism Seminar, Farm Tourism Trainings, Community-Based Culinaria,
34:55 Homestay Training, Tour Guiding, Foreign Language Speaking,
34:59 and OFW Teach-It-Forward Program for those who have experience of being a manager for 10 years
35:06 and are ready to be part of the pool of resource speakers or trainers of the Department of Tourism.
35:11 Some OFWs were helped by the Tourism Department.
35:15 Keisel has been an OFW in Qatar for almost 10 years.
35:18 And that's where she met her husband.
35:20 We are in Qatar, it's not a lifetime.
35:26 We really go back and forth as OFWs.
35:30 We thought, what can we do for a living when we go back?
35:35 We are already in the Philippines.
35:37 So what business?
35:39 Be sustainable and not just us.
35:43 If we want, we will not just be rich.
35:48 How can we help the community, the farmers, and at the same time our OFWs?
35:56 They thought of farming and now their farm is one of the most successful in Nueva Ecija.
36:02 According to the Department of Tourism, 150,000 are their target to be helped in this program.
36:07 And it can be added depending on how many people will repatriate.
36:11 The program is open to those returning OFWs and their families, as well as distressed OFWs.
36:17 I mentioned to the tune of around 200 million at least are devoted to the returning distressed workers in terms of livelihood.
36:27 I'm talking about resources of DMW and OWA.
36:31 But we need to harness the opportunities given to them.
36:35 So training, they need to know what is their ability in this program launched today.
36:43 The program is expected to start in May this year.
36:47 For those who want to avail this program, you can just go to the websites of DOT and DMW to provide additional information on the process.
36:56 For GMA Integrated News, Maris Umali, Naktutok, 24 Hours.

37:04 Marion Rivera and Ding Dong Dantes are even more inspired to work harder for 2024.
37:10 Before their sitcom returns here in your Kapuso Network, their movie, Rewind, has a blockbuster record.
37:18 Let's talk to Aubrey Caramper.
37:20 The best comeback has a great challenge.
37:25 Starting on Saturday, there's a royal comeback, Kapuso Prime Time King and Queen, Ding Dong Dantes, and Marion Rivera via Kapuso Sitcom Jose and Marias, Bonggang Villa 2.0.
37:38 There are other twists that we should look forward to in Season 2.
37:42 There are comedy sides of Dong here, it will be more.
37:46 Is it more riot this time around?
37:48 Yes, especially since we are with Mamang Pokwang, we are with her.
37:53 Bed and Breakfast is new, there are different storylines, and there are different powers that the characters will get here.
38:01 So, it's exciting.
38:02 Aside from that, we are also looking forward to Marion's return to the GMA Prime series with Guardian Alien,
38:09 where she will finally be with Gabby Concepcion and Firefly director, Zig Dulay.
38:16 Dong is also a regular guest on Kapuso's number one game show, Family Feud, and also hosts the infotainment show Amazing Earth.
38:26 The strength of Kapuso Power Couple is also felt in Taquilla because of their new achievement.
38:33 Their MMFF movie, Rewind, is considered the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time in Philippine domestic sales.
38:43 It was announced at the Thanksgiving party of the movie last night, brought by the cast and production team.
38:49 The 2019 blockbuster movie of another Kapuso star, Alden Richards,
38:56 passed Rewind with the help of Kathleen Bernardo in Hello, Love, Goodbye when it came to Philippine domestic sales.
39:02 So, they are not just a prime-time royalty, they are also a certified box office king and queen.
39:08 I can't do the character of Mary that Dong is not my partner.
39:14 Dong is the one who always cheers me up.
39:19 I can do all the things because when I do this, I get scared.
39:24 I said, "Why don't I get married to Mary?"
39:28 Because I get scared of the expectations of all people.
39:32 Because after 13 years, I came back to work.
39:35 I said, "Lord gave me you, I am thankful for that. So, I love you."
39:41 Their holidays were worth it when the family is not with them.
39:48 And because of this, they were even more inspired to make a movie.
39:53 In the result they showed in the box office, it means they have confidence in the Filipino film.
39:58 So, as artists who make movies, we want to make sure that their expenses for the ticket are always worth it.
40:07 And of course, we hope that they will not get tired of supporting the Filipino film.
40:11 Obri Carampel, updated showbiz happening.
40:15 And that's my chika this Thursday night. I am Ia Adaliano. Miss Mel?
40:23 To make the Filipino film even stronger,
40:28 local film producers are appealing to the Department of Interior and Local Government.
40:34 They want to have a moratorium on the collection of amusement tax that the local government is asking for.
40:42 Jun Veneracion is involved.
40:44 Some of the local film producers were able to help.
40:49 And the movie industry is laughing at Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjo Abalos.
40:54 He is asking for help to solve the problems of the Filipino film industry.
40:59 Just like the 10% amusement tax that the local government is asking for.
41:04 If there is a tax holiday like this, maybe we can raise the budget of making movies to make it better.
41:13 Because of course, we also need to fight for the products of other countries.
41:17 Our dream is for us to be like Korea, right? But we can't do that without the support of government.
41:22 Filipino first, they said. Let's put ourselves first.
41:26 If we don't love our industry, maybe we will be one of the ones to be left behind.
41:32 And what about the workers here?
41:34 A film producer laid the conditions for their income in producing movies.
41:40 Even if a movie earns P100 million in the box office,
41:45 it is reduced by 10% of the amusement tax.
41:48 The remaining 90% will be divided by the producer and cinema operator.
41:53 From the 45% that will be left to the producer,
41:56 5% to 20% of the booking fee will be taken from the distributors.
42:00 And there is a 12% value added tax.
42:03 Effectively, for every P100 million, the producer gets approximately P35 to P37 million net.
42:12 Not all movies reach P100 million.
42:16 For the year 2023, most movies grossed from the average of P2 million to P12 million only.
42:24 Secretary Abalos said that he will talk to the local chief executives.
42:29 I commit, I will talk personally with all of the mayors of Metro Manila.
42:34 Maybe we can just zero it. Let's help for the next three years so that they can get back on their feet.
42:41 That is what we will ask from all local government units.
42:46 Abalos, the city of Mandaluyong under his father, Mayor Benjamin Abalos Sr.,
42:53 will support the three-year moratorium on amusement tax for local movies.
42:58 Abalos will also address piracy, a problem that movie producers are also facing.
43:04 In this aspect, the movie industry in PNP can expect 100% help.
43:09 And other government agencies.
43:11 Stop it. You can't help. You are pitiful to the industry.
43:15 IKGMA Films President and GMA Network SVP, Atty. Annette Gonzon-Valdez,
43:21 the producers were inspired by the success of the last Metro Manila Film Festival.
43:27 That's why they are doing things to keep the local movie industry active.
43:32 Filipino movies are part of our arts and culture.
43:36 We have to preserve it. We have to love it.
43:39 And we will do everything so that the Filipino movie industry will not die.
