00:00 G.I. Joe that last scene first of all bring in Michael Kelly
00:03 I love that you brought in Michael Kelly for this role because you bring that man and he kills anytime he killed but
00:08 Now that we have this this connection here. Is there already an idea?
00:13 For that G.I. Joe Transformers crossover and what made you even think of doing that?
00:20 We don't think of it as a crossover either which is interesting. I know that well the terminology for me I find it
00:27 limiting
00:29 We've been debating the Joe the fan base has been debating it forever. You know they come on
00:37 what are you gonna do when you're gonna do it and
00:39 We've wanted to do it
00:41 But we've never found really an organic situation to do it with
00:45 So what happened in this case is when we came up with a character who can't get a job
00:49 It was like the greatest idea that he's gonna get the greatest job ever right and so it was really
00:56 Otherwise it feels like you're just jamming it in yeah, you know it feels like it's the payoff to the movie
01:01 Honestly, it was it was just amazing to see that and he's got the card in his hand. I'm thinking okay. It's nest
01:06 It's sector seven whatever. Yeah, it's a little bit of C.I. Joe. I go
01:09 jaw drops like
01:12 Well, you know what's funny is we shot two cards
01:15 What was the other one sector seven?
01:18 Because we wanted to experience it ourselves
01:21 Because we were really it was important to us that it felt very organic
01:24 So we didn't know until we saw it that it was like okay. It works
01:29 You know that we had that chill that tingle down the spine that like
01:33 Joe well, I was excited about it like I remember presenting it to the studio
01:38 When I first turned in the draft of the script to the producers and everybody and they're like well
01:43 This is crazy
01:43 This is a leap
01:44 But I saw on everyone's faces they were kind of excited about it like it led us to a new direction and all the possibilities
01:49 Now I'm like this
01:51 But I was just like I feel like in terms of the friend that specific franchise like that's the one where I did have the toys
01:57 Grown up. I didn't have the toys of Transformers growing up my mom and dad never
02:00 sad face
02:02 but in this particular case the Joes I did have and I was like
02:05 If there's a way that I can combine these and like create something natural and organic so fans could appreciate
02:11 But see them sort of working together, you know, it would be cool
02:14 And then I'm a fan of the graphic novels too in the comics and there is a few
02:18 Special edition comics out there that kind of hint at it. So
02:20 When I pitched it to the studio and said where we can go with it
02:24 They were excited about it just took like two years for us to finally get all the yeses that we need to move forward
02:29 On it. Yes
