00:00 All right, we got a lot going on here.
00:01 It's crazy because right now, Barrett Jackson Collection Car
00:04 Auction was established in 1971 as the world's greatest
00:07 collector car auction ever.
00:09 And it kicks off the year of major events
00:11 here in the Valley.
00:12 So let's go live and see what we can expect this year
00:15 with the man, the myth, the legend himself,
00:18 ladies and gentlemen.
00:19 Look at that good looking guy right there.
00:21 Craig Jackson, how are you?
00:25 I'm awesome, Brad.
00:26 So you look amazing.
00:27 You look younger and younger.
00:29 Each time I see you.
00:32 Yeah, I wish.
00:33 We go back a long ways.
00:35 But I love what I do.
00:36 So it keeps me feeling young at any rate.
00:39 Yeah, and I'll tell you, this is awesome because this is a year
00:42 of, again, amazing cars out there.
00:46 71 years ago when your father started this,
00:48 did you expect it to become this big of a car auction that's
00:51 world known?
00:52 No, but when I took over the company,
00:58 I listened to my customers, what they wanted,
01:00 built out the vision, put us on TV and the internet,
01:03 and it just exploded.
01:05 And this is where everybody comes to see each other
01:08 that they may not see all year long.
01:10 This is the biggest, largest, best collector car
01:14 auction in the world.
01:15 Every car here is selling at no reserve.
01:18 And it is an unbelievable docket of over 2,035 cars
01:24 on property.
01:25 Oh my gosh.
01:25 All selling.
01:26 And you know what's so amazing, Craig,
01:28 is that there is a car for anybody,
01:31 I hate to say, collecting budget.
01:33 Because we have the very, very expensive ones to even
01:36 some great modern ones that people are auctioning off.
01:40 Absolutely.
01:43 Plus all the car manufacturers out here,
01:46 ride and drive, take a thrill ride,
01:48 go on an off-road experience.
01:50 You've got about 12 different auto manufacturers out here
01:53 when you enter the automotive pavilion
01:57 in the front entrance.
01:58 So Bear Jackson is more than just a car auction.
02:01 It's a lifestyle event.
02:02 We kick off tonight with Forerunner,
02:04 with our Rock the Block concert.
02:07 Tomorrow is family day, so kids under 12 get in free.
02:10 There is something for everybody,
02:12 and it goes all week long.
02:14 Auction starts actually on Monday.
02:16 But the first opening weekend is one of our biggest days.
02:18 Tomorrow will be great.
02:20 Two separate car shows will be going on tomorrow.
02:22 We have the Barrett Jackson Cup,
02:24 50 of the world's best custom and hot rods
02:27 going up for cash prize.
02:29 Future Collector Car Show is tomorrow.
02:31 Those are concourse judge cars from the 80s on up.
02:35 And then Monday the auction starts.
02:36 But look at the selection.
02:38 One I want to show you, Brad,
02:39 this '36 Mercedes right here with a one-off Mayfair chassis.
02:44 It is a special roadster.
02:48 The radiators moved back.
02:50 It was bodied in England, two-seater, disappearing top.
02:55 It is absolutely stunning, this car,
02:58 and it's the only one in the world like it.
03:00 So this goes back to our roots.
03:02 This is one of Don Williams' cars,
03:04 who was one of our founders.
03:05 He passed away this year.
03:07 We're selling off the last of his collection.
03:09 And then we lead into all these supercars.
03:11 So supercars are super popular nowadays.
03:15 Ford GTs, 918, Bugatti Chiron selling it nowhere.
03:20 No reserve.
03:21 SF90, Tour de France.
03:23 I mean, the list goes on and on.
03:26 A great selection of resto mods.
03:28 The market keeps getting more popular.
03:31 More people coming into the hobby.
03:34 And as you said at the start,
03:35 there's something for everyone here.
03:37 Monday we start off with more of the entry-level cars,
03:40 and then it ramps up to Saturday the 27th.
03:44 Every car in this room will be going over the block.
03:47 - Oh my gosh.
03:48 Craig, I got to ask you,
03:49 do you have a favorite car?
03:51 I mean, I hate to say that to you, but I know it's hard,
03:54 but do you have a favorite one this year
03:56 or that we can look at?
03:58 Or not right now, but do you have a favorite one?
04:00 - Oh, there's quite a few.
04:03 I love this Bugatti here.
04:04 I love Bugattis and just the vintage look.
04:09 This Bugatti matches the exact same colors
04:11 as the Chiron up front.
04:14 We also have President Trump's '97 Lamborghini
04:19 that he bought and drove for two years here.
04:22 We got a lot of celebrity cars this year.
04:25 And it's gonna be a great year.
04:27 - I love it.
04:28 - The lineup just kept getting better and better and better.
04:31 - Oh my gosh.
04:32 So Craig, let me just ask this.
04:35 Let's just say a friend of mine,
04:36 I'm not gonna say it's me, won the lotto tonight.
04:39 Can I still come out and throw some money down
04:41 and buy a car?
04:42 - You can come out to the concert tonight.
04:47 You can come out and register to bid.
04:49 You can come out all week long and register.
04:52 We also, we run later in the evening.
04:55 So come out after work and enjoy the cars,
04:58 the camaraderie, the experience
05:01 that's only at Barrett-Jackson.
05:03 - I love it.
05:04 Craig, I love it.
05:05 I'm gonna come out and see you.
05:06 I've not seen you in person in a while.
05:07 So I'll be out there this weekend
05:09 and we'll say hello to each other.
05:10 How's that sound?
05:11 - Excellent.
05:14 - All right.
05:16 - I'm gonna see you this morning just for old time's sakes.
05:18 (laughing)
05:19 - He does.
05:20 We've had some early mornings and some late nights.
05:23 (laughing)
05:25 - Yep.
05:26 - Craig, thank you. - Look forward to seeing you,
05:27 Brad.
05:28 - Thank you, Craig.
05:29 It is the Barrett-Jackson.
05:30 And again, we have information on aztv.com.
05:33 So a great car show.
05:34 All right, let's head back out to Scottsdale
05:38 where the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Car Collection Auction,
05:43 or I'm sorry, the Collector Car Auction
05:44 is getting ready to kick off.
05:46 Mike, hey, listen, buddy.
05:48 This, we saw with Craig, some very cool and expensive cars.
05:53 But you have some of like muscle cars.
05:57 You got some really cool cars.
05:58 And I love this.
05:59 The first one is belonging to a WLE Hall of Famer
06:01 that you're liking?
06:02 - That's correct.
06:05 So we've got a matched pair of Demons.
06:08 This is the brand new Demon 170.
06:10 It's the most powerful production
06:11 from the big three car ever built.
06:12 It produces 1,025 horsepower.
06:15 And Bill Goldberg, the famous WWE superstar,
06:19 champion, former NFL player,
06:22 he actually owns this one and the one right behind it,
06:24 which is a 2018.
06:26 They're both VIN number 1083.
06:28 So match set, incredible, incredible opportunity
06:31 to buy a match set.
06:32 They sell as one lot.
06:34 Same time, if you bid on the car, you're buying both cars.
06:37 And then of course, we've got the new modern muscle cars,
06:41 a couple more Demon 170s,
06:43 you know, 6.2 liter supercharged.
06:45 They built just a very, very limited number of these.
06:48 You had to be someone special to get these cars from Dodge
06:51 in their last call productions.
06:54 Headed down, we've got some vintage muscle cars.
06:56 We've got a 1971 Plymouth Kuda.
06:59 It's equipped with the 340.
07:01 They only built 30, 340 convertibles in 1971.
07:06 This one's finished in curious yellow.
07:09 Very, very rare, unique car.
07:12 Yeah, these Mopars are just unreal.
07:15 I mean, to find a convertible Kuda '70 or '71
07:18 is extremely rare.
07:20 And then we have a '70 right next to it.
07:23 It's finished in lemon twist yellow.
07:25 It's a 440 six pack with a four speed manual transmission.
07:30 They only built 17 440 six pack four speed convertibles
07:35 in 1970, and that is a real one right there.
07:38 Very, very special car.
07:39 It's just a beautiful car.
07:40 The lemon twist yellow, the white bucket seats, white top.
07:44 I reminisce that we had a few people comment about it,
07:46 but the old TV show "Nash Bridges"
07:48 back in the day with Don Johnson,
07:50 he drove a similar car, although his car was a Hemi,
07:53 but still had kind of the same aesthetic look to it.
07:57 The car next to it is a 1970, yes sir, yes.
08:00 - I just, I'm sorry to interrupt, but I gotta ask you this
08:03 'cause everyone's kind of like wondering,
08:04 why do people sell these cars?
08:06 They're so great, but the secret is
08:08 because they're gonna buy another car, right?
08:10 - It's a hobby, and the hobby is driven by enthusiasts.
08:17 And enthusiasts, they have a passion for something, a car,
08:20 and they wanna own it, so they obtain it, they have it.
08:23 The gentleman who owns this car,
08:25 he's had this car for many, many, many years.
08:27 He's a longtime friend of mine out of Virginia,
08:30 and it just came to the time where he was ready to sell it,
08:33 do something different.
08:34 He likes to mix around cars, and every now and then,
08:38 it's not, they don't run out of money for buying cars,
08:40 they run out of space to park 'em.
08:41 So they just kinda have to cycle 'em through.
08:44 Give someone else the opportunity
08:45 to have one of 17 ever built.
08:47 - Oh man, I wish I had that problem.
08:48 Okay, let's talk about your favorite.
08:49 - You know, cars are cheaper than the real estate.
08:51 - Yeah, let's talk about your favorite, the 350.
08:53 - My favorite, my personal, yeah,
08:56 my personal favorite is this 1965 Shelby GT350.
09:00 These cars are special.
09:03 When I say special, had this car not been successful,
09:07 there would be no Shelby Mustangs today.
09:09 There would have been never,
09:10 you never would have heard Shelby's name outside
09:13 if you were maybe a Le Mans guy from the early,
09:16 late '50s and stuff where he won.
09:18 But this car was given to Carroll Shelby
09:21 to make a race car out of the Mustang.
09:23 And he did just that, produced these,
09:25 people built 562 of these in 1965.
09:29 This is car 555, is referred to the triple nickel,
09:32 very late production '65,
09:34 and these cars are like driving 300 horsepower go-karts.
09:36 - Man, I love that. - They're a lot of fun.
09:38 - Listen, I'm checking my numbers tonight
09:40 'cause I want a Shelby Cobra.
09:42 That's all I'm coming out there to get this weekend.
09:45 I probably won't, but. (laughs)
09:47 - There you go.
09:48 We've got several of the CSX 4000 continuation cars.
09:53 We got one for you, come see me.
09:54 - Oh my goodness, I will.
09:55 But also we wanna make sure people understand
09:56 there's a little change to the Future Collector Car Show
09:59 very quickly, right?
10:00 - Yes, that's correct.
10:03 So our FCCS show was scheduled
10:05 and slated to be on Sunday.
10:07 Due to the weather that's coming through,
10:09 they've made an adjustment.
10:10 The FCCS show now is going to be Saturday, tomorrow,
10:14 down on the polo field down here.
10:15 If you bought tickets for the passes for Sunday,
10:17 they are good for tomorrow.
10:19 - Love it, love it.
10:20 Mike, thank you very much.
10:21 And of course, you wanna find out
10:23 everything that's happening at Barry Jackson,
10:24 you head over to the website right there on the screen,
10:27 or you can head over to aztv.com.
10:30 So, all right, stick around
10:31 and see what's happening tomorrow on The Mix.
10:34 (upbeat music)
10:36 (upbeat music)
10:39 (upbeat music)
10:41 [BLANK_AUDIO]
