00:00 Living in a van, you just got to, I don't know, it's not really that hard.
00:05 You just got to find all sorts of different spots to put it, you know.
00:09 You hang out somewhere.
00:10 It's like a don't shit where you eat thing, you know.
00:12 You don't really want to hang out where you're sleeping because then people will figure it
00:15 out pretty quick.
00:19 I started riding motorcycles when I was about five.
00:23 Started racing a bit after that.
00:25 I've always been into skateboarding, motocross, just binge drinking.
00:29 It's a bad idea.
00:31 I'm going to love it.
00:33 And so now I've turned this sort of horrible addiction to endangering myself and others
00:41 into an income.
00:42 Some days it'll be fucking Murphy's Law, you know what I mean.
00:45 You're like, fucking chain pops off, receptionists don't, you know, you're like sign on the X
00:50 and they're like, what X?
00:51 And you're like, the X, you know how to spell your name?
00:54 It's so much fun.
00:55 I mean, you get to ride your bike, you get paid for it.
00:58 There isn't a better job.
00:59 You never see anybody fall asleep on a roller coaster, you know what I mean?
01:12 Anybody that's riding something and riding it fast is going to get, there's a certain
01:17 excitement to it, unless it's like my grandma, which would just like scare her to death or
01:21 something.
01:22 But you know what I mean, it's a natural thing.
01:24 I mean, anybody would get it.
01:25 That's why people jump out of planes and shit.
01:27 As a courier, you're not winning.
01:29 You're definitely losing.
01:31 Unlike the tear stained romanticism depicted in such films as Quicksilver, there's nobody
01:40 who used to be a stockbroker that's running a courier gig right now.
01:47 It's a lot of hardship and it's a lot of friendship and it really does a lot to your character,
01:52 you know?
01:53 It's a really nice sort of perspective that you wouldn't necessarily get being cooped
01:58 up inside.
01:59 You know, they say like, most people are like two paychecks away from fucking living on
02:04 the street or whatever.
02:06 A lot of people are fucking two hard weekends away from being any fucking junkies.
02:12 I mean, that's just the reality.
02:14 That's why you gotta fucking check yourself sometimes, you know what I mean?
02:17 If you're out fucking partying, this and that.
02:19 It's like, you know, I don't know.
02:23 Yeah I guess there is a support system in couriering.
02:27 It's kind of hard to do something by yourself because you're always around the same people
02:31 every day.
02:32 When you have just one person helping out with whatever your struggle is, if it's drugs
02:36 or hookers or whatever, if you have one other friend, it will help you so much and then
02:43 another friend will hop on and help you and help you.
02:45 Each person that I've come to know and love in the courier community has taught me so
02:53 much about who I think I am and more to the point, who I should try to be.
