00:00 Over the last couple of years for you there was Elvis, Masters of the Air, we've got you
00:03 in Bike Riders. You must kind of feel like a man out of his time at the moment because
00:07 you've spent so long embracing the past.
00:10 Yeah, I mean I've always, I think I've always felt at home kind of in another time and a
00:17 lot of my favourite films and the people that I've looked up to a lot are from those time
00:24 periods so it's really just a joy to get to live within that moment in time.
00:29 Speaking about people you're looking up to, in the film business no one really looks up
00:33 to anyone more than Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. They had some incredible success telling
00:38 the stories of Band of Brothers and the Pacific. Even with all the success you've had over
00:42 the last couple of years that must have still been a bit of a pinch me moment to know what
00:46 you're involved in.
00:47 Yeah, it absolutely is. I mean it doesn't get any better than Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg
00:53 so I feel fortunate.
00:56 How important do you think it is to still tell these stories? There was a bit more of
01:00 a connection I guess when Band of Brothers was told 20 years ago of the people still
01:04 alive who fought these battles and now we have a generation that feels a lot more removed
01:10 from that time.
01:11 Absolutely. I thought I knew a lot about World War II but I didn't know about their stories,
01:17 the stories of the 100th and how treacherous it was and how volatile that space was that
01:24 they were going into. Calum and I talk a lot about the fact that 77% of them did not make
01:29 it back. They would either end up in a POW camp or lose their lives. That statistic is
01:36 just absolutely harrowing to think about and the bravery that it took for them to get back
01:41 up in that plane. I feel so honored to be a part of telling their story.
