Singapore mall becomes unlikely art haven

Around half a century old, Peace Centre is scheduled to face the wrecking ball later this year, but fans say it has provided a rare space for self-expression.

00:15 It's not something that you do on a normal weekend and then less
00:19 so inside an indoor area inside a mall.
00:21 >> Based on the things that we do here in Peace Centre,
00:26 which is the spray painting workshop or creating murals,
00:29 I think we have created an extension
00:32 or we have created a form of characteristic of this space
00:35 and also kind of tell a little bit of story
00:39 of this space itself in expressing our art.

00:49 in Singapore malls, for example.
00:50 There was bookstores, thrift shops, performances, music.
00:55 So it kind of overwhelmed me.
00:57 It had a very non-Singapore kind of feel,
00:59 very organic kind of feel.
01:01 >> Yes. One, two.
