Rożnów dam and hydroelectric power plant.
The Rożnów reservoir was created as a result of damming up the waters of the Dunajec River with a dam located in 80.0 km of the river bank. The first concepts of the construction of the dam date back to the years 1924 - 1929.
The length of the dam is - 550 m.
Maximum height - 49 m
Body volume - 450 thousand. m3 of concrete.
The construction of the dam was carried out in the years 1935-1941. The damming process and the first power unit were launched in 1942. The total capacity of all dam devices is 3980 m3/s of water.
The power plant was modernized in 1996-2001
As a result of the damming of water by the dam, Lake Rożnowskie was created, which covers an area of 1,600 ha and is 22 kilometers long.
The maximum depth of the lake is 25–30 m.
