00:28 Yeah, we recording?
00:30 Yep.
00:31 [Music]
00:37 Um, getting ready.
00:41 [Music]
00:45 Get my popcorn.
00:46 [Music]
00:50 Get my drink on.
00:52 [Music]
00:56 Um.
00:58 [Music]
01:04 Get out of my seat. No, no, no. This is my seat.
01:07 Hey, share.
01:10 Get out of share.
01:12 [Music]
01:15 I'm sitting here.
01:17 [Music]
01:18 Oh, yeah.
01:22 This is not your audition reel.
01:25 That's my part. Yeah.
01:30 Um.
01:31 What?
01:33 Um.
01:34 Alright.
01:35 So we, so we, we, we back.
01:37 Episode three.
01:39 Alright.
01:40 Season four.
01:41 Season four.
01:42 And we're starting off immediately with a nice federal sweep.
01:46 Yeah.
01:47 Of Dre, Julio, and Lakeisha.
01:50 Yeah, they got caught up.
01:52 And then we also see Angela in the church for Greg's funeral.
01:58 And in the background is Greg's friend.
02:01 Greg's friend.
02:02 The guy who we went to, to do some cyber sleuthing for.
02:06 Right.
02:07 So, um.
02:09 We see that this is already starting.
02:11 Like, you know, we predicted last episode.
02:14 Yeah.
02:15 In the extra credit scenes that we were talking about.
02:17 How that would probably be the only person that can really save.
02:21 Ghost.
02:22 Greg's friend.
02:23 Greg's.
02:24 Because he's the only person that knew that there was somebody else.
02:26 Right.
02:27 Because Greg went to him and said, listen.
02:30 You know, he was telling him everything he had found out about the whole situation.
02:35 Right.
02:36 And then.
02:37 And Greg, did Greg know it was.
02:39 Agent Mike.
02:40 No, he didn't know it was Mike.
02:41 But he knew that it was an internal person.
02:44 What was Greg telling him?
02:45 If you recall.
02:47 Off the top of my head, I don't recall.
02:49 Right.
02:50 But basically, everything there was to know that Greg had figured out.
02:53 He had told this dude at that point.
02:55 Right.
02:56 He went, right.
02:57 He told this dude.
02:58 And then when he went to Mike's house.
02:59 Yeah.
03:00 He was telling Mike.
03:01 And then all the pieces started clicking together that.
03:03 Right, right, right, right.
03:04 It was Mike.
03:05 And of course Mike killed him.
03:07 Right.
03:08 So.
03:09 Ghost is still in jail.
03:11 He needs his second chair.
03:12 Who's going to be representing him.
03:14 Seems like a real jerk.
03:15 Yeah.
03:16 And.
03:17 Ghost tells him.
03:18 That there's a phone in the picture that wasn't there originally.
03:21 Right.
03:22 This is at the Greg scene.
03:23 This is at Greg's crime scene.
03:25 So when.
03:26 Ghost broke into the house.
03:28 He's trying to say that that phone was not there.
03:32 Ghost said the phone was not there.
03:34 Right.
03:35 Right.
03:36 So the phone was actually planted by Mike.
03:38 Right.
03:39 Which is.
03:40 To frame Greg.
03:41 To frame Greg.
03:42 Yes.
03:43 Because Greg has now been accused of.
03:44 Being the.
03:45 Mole.
03:46 The mole.
03:47 Right.
03:48 Right.
03:49 He's put the phone in there to frame Greg.
03:50 Right.
03:51 But that phone was not there beforehand.
03:52 Right.
03:53 Okay.
03:54 That's where we are.
03:55 That's where we are.
03:56 So.
03:57 Let's see how this plays out.
03:58 Okay.
03:59 So Tommy.
04:00 Can automatically sense that something is wrong with Tyreke.
04:01 Right.
04:02 Well everybody knows that.
04:03 Right.
04:04 But you know I think Tommy's able to put more of a fingerprint on it.
04:05 Like.
04:06 Alright.
04:12 Something.
04:13 Something has gotten into this boy's head.
04:14 All of a sudden family is not important.
04:15 He doesn't care what happened to his father.
04:16 The only downside to this scene between Tommy and Tyreke is.
04:17 Tommy mentions how.
04:18 He didn't have a father growing up.
04:19 And I'm really hoping that.
04:20 Courtney.
04:21 Is going to be able to.
04:22 Get him to realize.
04:23 That he's not the father.
04:24 And that he's not the father.
04:25 And that he's not the father.
04:26 And that he's not the father.
04:27 And that he's not the father.
04:28 And that he's not the father.
04:29 And that he's not the father.
04:30 And that he's not the father.
04:31 And that he's not the father.
04:32 And that he's not the father.
04:33 And that he's not the father.
04:34 And that he's not the father.
04:35 And that he's not the father.
04:36 And that he's not the father.
04:37 And that he's not the father.
04:38 And that he's not the father.
04:39 And that he's not the father.
04:40 And that he's not the father.
04:41 And that he's not the father.
04:42 And that he's not the father.
04:43 And that he's not the father.
04:44 And that he's not the father.
04:45 And that he's not the father.
04:46 And that he's not the father.
04:47 And that he's not the father.
04:48 And that he's not the father.
04:49 And that he's not the father.
04:50 And that he's not the father.
04:51 And that he's not the father.
04:52 And that he's not the father.
04:53 And that he's not the father.
04:54 And that he's not the father.
04:55 And that he's not the father.
04:56 And that he's not the father.
04:57 And that he's not the father.
04:58 And that he's not the father.
04:59 And that he's not the father.
05:00 And that he's not the father.
05:01 And that he's not the father.
05:02 And that he's not the father.
05:03 And that he's not the father.
05:04 And that he's not the father.
05:05 And that he's not the father.
05:06 And that he's not the father.
05:07 And that he's not the father.
05:08 And that he's not the father.
05:09 And that he's not the father.
05:10 And that he's not the father.
05:11 And that he's not the father.
05:12 And that he's not the father.
05:13 And that he's not the father.

05:18 And that he's not the father.
05:19 And that he's not the father.
05:20 And that he's not the father.
05:21 And that he's not the father.
05:22 And that he's not the father.

05:30 And that he's not the father.
05:31 And that he's not the father.
05:32 And that he's not the father.
05:33 And that he's not the father.
05:34 And that he's not the father.
05:35 And that he's not the father.
05:36 And that he's not the father.
05:37 And that he's not the father.
05:38 And that he's not the father.
05:39 And that he's not the father.
05:40 And that he's not the father.
05:41 And that he's not the father.

07:55 And that he's not the father.
07:56 And that he's not the father.
07:57 And that he's not the father.
07:58 And that he's not the father.
07:59 And that he's not the father.
08:00 And that he's not the father.
08:01 And that he's not the father.
08:02 And that he's not the father.
08:03 And that he's not the father.
08:04 And that he's not the father.
08:05 And that he's not the father.
08:06 And that he's not the father.
08:07 And that he's not the father.
08:08 And that he's not the father.
08:09 And that he's not the father.
08:10 And that he's not the father.
08:11 And that he's not the father.
08:12 And that he's not the father.
08:13 And that he's not the father.
08:15 You would think she would wear slippers.
08:16 Even on the last scene she had flip flops on.
08:19 What last scene she had flip flops on?
08:20 When she was with Tommy.
08:21 Yeah, she had flip flops on?
08:22 Yeah.
08:23 Okay, well she did.
08:24 But like, why is she always looking like she...
08:26 Geez, the big hoop earrings.
08:28 Like, you just coming from the night at the club.
08:30 Like, it's like, day time.
08:31 Like, why you dress like that?
08:33 I don't know, man.
08:34 She's like a hot mama, huh?
08:36 I guess so.
08:37 I wonder where her kid is at.
08:38 She ain't never got the kid.
08:39 Yeah, right?
08:40 You know, her kids don't play with Tyreke and them?
08:42 Alright, so we just saw a little interaction with Tyreke and Kanan.
08:47 And it looks like Kanan got Tyreke about to do something real stupid.
08:51 Yeah, he got him on that...
08:52 Got him on that lean.
08:54 And Tyreke, of course, is all into it.
08:57 Because, you know, he's a gullible little kid.
08:59 Alright, so do you want to explain to the people what the hell is going on now?
09:04 Alright, so, Agent Bailey Markham.
09:07 Again, he's the guy that was Greg's friend.
09:11 And he intimated the details of the mole.
09:16 Right.
09:17 He comes into the office, the FBI office or whatever, the Attorney General's office, wherever they are.
09:27 And he goes to Angela's office and approaches her about this whole situation.
09:33 And basically says, tells her that she needs to admit that she is the reason why Greg is dead, that Greg is not the mole.
09:42 And basically exonerates him.
09:44 Right.
09:45 And she ain't having that. She says, "I'm not the mole."
09:49 Right.
09:50 Which she isn't.
09:51 Right.
09:52 But, you know, because it all, I mean, the only thing that this guy knows is that it was somebody in the feds.
09:59 Right.
10:00 And Greg assumed it was Angela.
10:01 Mm-hmm.
10:02 You know, but like I said, when he confronted Mike, he started all coming together.
10:09 Right.
10:10 And that's why Mike killed him.
10:11 Can I just, a little aside?
10:14 That reminds me of Spider-Man Homecoming in theaters this weekend.
10:19 There's a scene in Spider-Man Homecoming where something similar happens.
10:23 And the villain comes into contact with Spider-Man.
10:29 But the scene is unfolding and the villain doesn't realize that Peter Parker is Spider-Man.
10:38 Right.
10:39 And then he figures it out.
10:40 Freaking awesome movie.
10:42 One of the best Marvel movies in years.
10:45 I mean, this movie has everything.
10:47 Definitely go see it this weekend.
10:49 Let's go home with power.
10:50 All right.
10:51 This episode is real, real slippery and intricate.
10:55 So much going on, we got to stop like every few minutes to talk about what the hell's
11:00 happening here.
11:01 All right.
11:02 Man, it's a lot.
11:04 All right.
11:05 So it looks like Greg's guy now is talking to Sal.
11:11 Yeah, the other agent.
11:13 The other agent.
11:14 And pretty much he ain't buying into it either.
11:16 He's not really buying into the whole...
11:18 So Agent Bailey Markham, who's Greg's friend, is now talking to...
11:23 I should know this guy's name.
11:25 The freaky agent.
11:27 Sacks.
11:28 Agent Sacks.
11:29 Trying to get him to change the focus of the investigation to exonerate Greg.
11:36 Right.
11:37 That's all this guy wants.
11:38 He just wants to exonerate Greg.
11:39 He really doesn't care about, you know, Ghost, Tommy, or none of that.
11:43 Yeah.
11:44 So basically, but Sacks is still not really on board with Peter.
11:50 Right.
11:51 And now we have a new thing in play.
11:54 We have this new character.
11:57 Hannibal Lecter?
11:58 Yeah, Hannibal Lecter here.
12:00 Who we've called Hannibal Lecter, the old white guy from jail.
12:03 All right, so this is Tony Terezi.
12:05 His name is Tony Terezi.
12:07 He's a convicted felon.
12:09 Right, convicted felon.
12:10 He's in jail, but his wife is out, and she's sick with cancer.
12:15 Right.
12:16 He needs her to get some sort of treatment, so now he's leaning on Ghost to try to get
12:20 money for the treatment.
12:21 Right, $20,000 a week.
12:24 They don't understand the thing that Ghost broke.
12:26 Right, and the other thing is he wants Tommy to deliver the $20,000.
12:32 Right.
12:33 Himself, which is kind of weird.
12:34 Yeah.
12:35 I'm telling you, this better not be his-- don't make-- please don't make this his father.
12:42 Oh, wow, yeah, yeah, yeah.
12:44 Because, like, why does he want Tommy to deliver?
12:46 I'm scared for you, because I know you really--
12:50 That's just one big sign of bad writing, and it would make me drop the show in a heartbeat.
12:55 But we're going to keep hope alive, and, you know--
12:59 Oh, yeah, because he did say earlier he never made his father.
13:02 Right.
13:03 I'm sorry.
13:04 I think that's where it's headed, man.
13:06 You're going to have to just make yourself open to that right now.
13:08 This podcast is going to have one less person on it.
13:11 Hell, you coming back.
13:12 Woo!
13:13 We're taking this step by step.
13:14 Getting hot in here.
13:15 It's almost scene by scene up in here.
13:17 Wow.
13:18 So Angela has just offered Ghost a deal to testify against Tommy.
13:24 To admit that he killed Egan.
13:27 No, he--
13:28 That he killed Greg.
13:29 Right, and that Tommy killed Lobos.
13:32 Did she say that part, Lobos?
13:34 Yeah.
13:35 OK.
13:36 I think he said that he killed Greg.
13:38 All right, so we just checked it.
13:39 She did say, "Give us Tommy for the Lobos murder."
13:42 So she wants him to confess to killing Greg and also frame Tommy.
13:48 Right.
13:49 Not going to happen.
13:50 He's like, "Yo, I didn't do it."
13:52 Right.
13:53 She's trying to throw everything at him, like, "Your family is going to be torn apart.
13:57 You're going to die by legal injection.
13:59 They're going to call Tasha in and testify against you."
14:03 Right, and then she throws an ultimate at him.
14:05 Like, you know, you don't care about nobody but yourself.
14:09 Yeah.
14:10 You know, meaning that Ghost cheated on her with her.
14:12 Right.
14:13 He didn't care about his family then, so why would he care now?
14:16 Right.
14:17 Which is a good point.
14:18 It's a good point.
14:19 But I think, you know, throughout the series, he's never shown neglect for his kids.
14:24 Right.
14:25 He's shown neglect for Tasha's feelings.
14:27 Right.
14:28 But never technically neglect for taking care of Tasha, you know.
14:31 Right.
14:32 But, you know, I think that's--you know, if you think about the Jay-Z album, right?
14:36 Yeah.
14:37 It's more than just paying the bills.
14:39 Right.
14:40 You know, anybody could pay the bills.
14:42 I mean, Beyonce's chauffeur could pay her bills if she gives him the credit card to pay the bills.
14:47 Right, right, right.
14:48 So it's about companionship or whatever.
14:49 Right.
14:50 So we're hoping that--I'm hoping to see how this is going to turn out.
14:53 Yeah, I think that that whole, you know, issue of spousal, you know, being separated from your spouse,
15:00 you know, they're going to try to show that they were not together
15:05 and use that to have Tasha testify against him.
15:09 I think that the whole issue here is really not about whether or not, you know,
15:14 they were, you know, sleeping in the same bed or whether he was sleeping with someone else.
15:20 At the end of the day, the man was insensitive to her feelings, but he was still supplying for her family.
15:27 He was still making sure that the bills were paid in the household, and he was still visiting the children.
15:32 Right.
15:33 So a marriage ring relationship doesn't mean that they still didn't have a relationship, a spousal relationship,
15:40 but it just didn't include intimacy and it didn't include love.
15:43 Right, and, you know, Angela's bringing up the sale of the wedding ring, which we saw in Episode 2 when Tasha sold the wedding ring.
15:49 So does the sale of a wedding ring really dissolve the marriage?
15:53 Right.
15:54 They know.
15:55 Right.
15:56 And even if a person cheats, it doesn't dissolve the marriage.
15:58 I mean, it just means that that person has, you know, fidelity issues.
16:02 You know, for a person, the person's insensitive to the other person's feelings, but that doesn't mean you don't have commitment anymore.
16:08 Right.
16:09 You know, marriage is a contract. It's not about feelings at all, you know.
16:13 So when people are in a contract, you know, unless that contract is officially broken through divorce,
16:19 then the contract is still, it still stands, in my opinion.
16:22 Right.
16:23 Okay.
16:24 You know, ghosts didn't go Eric Benet.
16:25 Yes.
16:26 I just wanted to say that.
16:28 Woo-hoo! You going crazy. Shut up.
16:33 So it looks like Proctor and the gang found some traffic footage of ghosts being arrested or being detained by Officer Knox.
16:45 And that's how the DNA was under Knox's fingerprints for Jamie.
16:50 That's right.
16:51 Then the judge, then of course, Proctor was like, you know, this information was known by Angela.
16:57 Right.
16:58 Who said, yeah, it was known and she told him.
17:00 Right.
17:01 And their lawyer, what's his name, I think it's John.
17:06 Boy, what's his name again.
17:10 Anyway, their lawyer was like, yeah, you know, we knew it, but, you know, we didn't, John Mack, Mack didn't choose to pursue it.
17:18 Right.
17:19 He could have pursued it, but chose not to.
17:21 Right.
17:22 So the judge pretty much left it up to him.
17:23 Well, like, you know.
17:24 So basically, they discompromised the DNA evidence.
17:29 Right.
17:30 The choice was the judge's as to whether or not he would allow it.
17:34 Mm-hmm.
17:35 But Proctor pressed him and said, well, because Angela knew that this evidence existed, it cannot be included.
17:44 Right.
17:45 And then the judge throws it back to Mack and says, well, I'll split the baby.
17:51 Either we allow it, which is going to poison your jury against you.
17:56 Right.
17:57 Because you're going to tell the jury that you suppressed it.
17:59 Right.
18:00 Or we throw out the DNA evidence.
18:03 Right.
18:04 And they disagreed.
18:07 Yeah, Saks was like, yeah, Saks was pretty much like, yeah, throw it out.
18:10 I wanted to say.
18:11 Didn't you talk about this last time, that the DNA evidence had to be thrown out?
18:15 Yes.
18:16 This is what I'm talking about.
18:17 Yeah.
18:18 They had to get rid of that DNA evidence.
18:19 Yeah.
18:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
18:21 So this should be a lesson to everybody, right?
18:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
18:24 At the end of the day, you know, the second chair guy that's working with Proctor, he was ready to just take the deal.
18:29 Right, right, right.
18:30 You know, and it's like, yo, do your job.
18:32 Right.
18:33 You know, figure out a way to get the case working.
18:36 Right.
18:37 In your favor.
18:38 Right.
18:39 You know what I'm saying?
18:40 Proctor, he actually, you know, went out and found the information to get the DNA evidence thrown out.
18:48 Well, because Proctor believes his client for reasons that he hasn't revealed to the second chair.
18:54 Right.
18:55 And I don't remember what those reasons are.
18:57 Well, is it because his wife says the cocaine has it?
18:59 I don't know.
19:00 Why is it that Proctor--
19:01 I think so far Ghost has been very forthcoming.
19:04 Yeah, I just, I don't remember. It's because he keeps, they keep implying that somehow there's something that they have between them that they're not speaking of.
19:13 And I can't remember--
19:14 I think it's the cocaine addiction, because that's how he became the lawyer in the first place.
19:17 Oh, that's right.
19:18 You know?
19:19 So, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, that's pretty much why Proctor is more inclined to, you know, continue to support him.
19:28 And you were just talking about, and just in general with lawyers and stuff like that, like, you know, these days you're not necessarily going to find an attorney who's going to really go hard for you.
19:37 Right.
19:38 I mean, it's sort of like they're just looking to hurry up, move the case along, and pretty much just come up with a deal.
19:45 Right.
19:46 You know? And oftentimes when you're doing a deal, you know, it's like everybody wins, you know?
19:53 But you don't want a deal where everybody wins. You want it where you win and the other person loses.
19:58 Right.
19:59 You know? So attorneys, they're not working hard these days, especially if you don't have money, you know, to make sure that you win and the other person loses.
20:08 They're too busy doing deals. And that's why a lot of people are winding up with really bad, you know, bad sentences.
20:14 Right.
20:15 Yeah.
20:16 All right. All right. That was a very interesting ending.
20:22 Yeah, yeah.
20:24 With Ghost talking to his second chair and, you know, just really just, I don't think Ghost is feeling it.
20:35 Yeah, well, I think, I mean, it's clearly, you know, I don't know what motivated Ghost to invite him there alone without Proctor.
20:43 I still don't understand that. I mean, you think that it's probably because Ghost doesn't trust him or whatever. I'm not sure they didn't really explain that.
20:50 But I think, you know, this is an opportunity to talk about this whole issue you were talking about, you know, earlier about the legal system, about lawyers and representation.
20:58 Right.
20:59 You know, these lawyers, you know, they're about getting paid, you know, and if you can pay them, then they'll represent you, but they don't believe in you, you know.
21:10 And not only do they not believe in you, but they look down upon you, just like this lawyer looks down upon Ghost.
21:16 Right.
21:17 And Ghost is basically saying, listen, you just make bad choices, you know, and it's not about education.
21:23 The fact that, you know, I grew up in a good neighborhood, you grew up in a bad one, or I was educated and you weren't educated.
21:31 It's about choices. And maybe that may be the case, but I think it's the attitude, you know, that somehow, you know, Ghost is below him.
21:42 Right.
21:43 And, you know, that's a problem. I think it's a problem with the legal system in general, where, you know, these attorneys, they're not empathizing with their clients, you know.
21:56 They're not in their client's shoes, and they're just looking to do a deal. For them, it's a game.
22:01 For them, you know, it's about how many wins they can get, you know, at all costs.
22:08 And in some cases, it's just about, you know, how many losses I'm not going to get. So if I do a deal, that's putting them in the middle. I'm not losing.
22:16 So I could do a lot of deals. I don't have to win. I'll just do a deal. And that's still, to some extent, a win.
22:22 So that's what puts, I think, people in a hard position, because if you're being represented by an attorney who's really concerned about getting wins, whether that be a deal or an absolute win,
22:34 then they're more inclined to do a deal, because a deal is easier to do.
22:39 They can still say they got, to some extent, a win. They didn't get a loss.
22:43 You do a little bit of time. You bargain a little bit. Everybody wins.
22:51 You know, it's a bad situation out there. And I think that ultimately, you know, he's looking at himself like he's different from goats.
22:59 You know, out here in these streets, you know, you can have on whatever suit you got on. You can have on whatever outfit you got on.
23:07 The only color that matters, the only thing that matters is brown.
23:11 You know, and when police officers see you, you know, oftentimes that's the context that they're coming from.
23:18 And they're not making the nuance of, oh, you went to school or, oh, you sound educated or, oh, you know, you had a hard upbringing.
23:26 You know, they're just looking at you as a profile of a familiar criminal that they've seen before, whether that be in the media,
23:35 whether that's what they've learned over years being in a police academy. You know, that's the situation.
23:44 Very scary. Very scary. All right. So that concludes Power, episode three, season four.
