00:00 I think Bob Marley's work and legacy has had such an impact on global affairs.
00:07 I think Bob Marley's music has been and continues to be the anthem of liberation struggles right across the world.
00:15 I think his music adds voice to the voiceless, people who have been oppressed.
00:21 And as the generations move on, his work may fade in the background.
00:26 So it's very important that we continue to re-establish his work and his impact.
00:31 And I think the film does this in a very big way.
00:34 And that the producers and makers of the film have chosen to use the Jamaican backdrop.
00:40 Adds the authenticity to the film, the legitimacy to the film.
00:44 And that the world premiere is here is also significant.
00:47 It pays a great honor to the Jamaican culture and to Bob's life as well.
00:52 I think clearly it's Bob's very strong resistance.
00:59 This idea of resisting oppression, speaking up and standing up.
01:05 I think that's very important. It speaks to the Jamaican spirit.
01:08 We have a word for it, it's called "Talawa".
01:10 And I think you will see that in the film.
01:14 But it is also a testament to the incredible pool of culture and talent that exists in Jamaica.
