00:02 - Questions for Colin Schroeder?
00:06 - Here's to start, Colin.
00:09 I mean, you were one of the guys that was affected
00:11 in this gambling issue to see the news
00:13 that was coming out on the weekend.
00:14 I mean, how frustrating is that for you
00:16 to see this kind of revelation starting
00:18 to come out allegedly at this point?
00:20 - I mean, I don't really know if it's frustration or what,
00:24 but all I know is that I served what I had to do.
00:28 I did what I had to do.
00:29 And I have a match Friday and a match Sunday,
00:32 and everything else is kind of on the back burner.
00:34 So I'm focused on that.
00:36 I don't really care about the other stuff.
00:40 I dealt with it, and now I'm getting ready for Illinois.
00:44 - Are you paying attention at all,
00:47 or have you read any of the corpse stuff the last few days?
00:51 - I mean, obviously I've seen it,
00:52 but I'm not really paying much attention to it, no.
00:55 Like I said, I served my time, I did whatever,
00:59 and now I'm getting ready to wrestle.
01:01 So that's what my focus is.
01:04 - When we talked to you after the Columbia duel,
01:06 when we had kind of discussed this,
01:07 you had mentioned how that experience
01:10 had really helped you learn about yourself
01:12 and become a better wrestler about yourself.
01:14 Now that you've gotten back onto the mat,
01:16 you're starting to have some success here
01:18 in the last couple of matches.
01:18 I mean, how gratifying is it for you
01:20 to kind of be back out there now at this point?
01:23 - Yeah, I mean, obviously I love being back out on the mat.
01:27 I love competing.
01:28 That's what I do.
01:29 So each time out, I'm thankful to be out there.
01:34 Each time out's another opportunity.
01:35 So I just look forward to maximizing that each time.
01:39 So that's kind of what I have to say.
01:41 I'm grateful for every opportunity, for sure.
01:44 - In that room, I mean, right now, you, Kale, Teske,
01:49 I mean, you guys are all kind of getting
01:51 your opportunities right now to prove yourself, I guess.
01:54 What is it that you're trying to show
01:55 when you're on the mat right now
01:57 that you can be the guy at 133?
01:58 - I don't really think of it as much as being the guy
02:03 as opposed to this is the next step
02:07 towards what I want to do,
02:08 which is to be the national champion in March.
02:10 So I don't think of it as like competition-wise.
02:14 I think of it as this is the next time out
02:17 that I get to prove myself
02:18 and that I get to get better each time out
02:22 because, I don't know, March is on the horizon.
02:26 And that's what my focus is on, the next match and March.
02:31 That's everything else, like I said,
02:34 doesn't really matter to me, so.
02:36 - You've got two other guys with you
02:38 when you guys have wrestled together in opens
02:40 where you guys are all right there
02:42 when you guys wrestle against each other,
02:43 they're close matches.
02:44 How is that elevating you in your performance
02:47 when you have guys that are kind of just right there
02:48 and helping you improve on your game a little bit?
02:52 - Yeah, I mean, obviously it's good to have,
02:55 it's a good problem to have.
02:56 I mean, when you got people in the room
02:57 that are on your tail, this, that,
02:59 it holds you accountable.
03:01 And it's not even just my weight.
03:02 It's I have Drake Ayala to wrestle,
03:04 I have Rhea Woods to wrestle,
03:05 I have Spencer Lee to wrestle.
03:07 So I just think that being in a room like we have
03:12 is good for everybody, no matter the weight class.
03:16 (air whooshing)
03:18 - Anything else?
03:20 Thanks, Juan.
03:22 - Yeah, thanks.
03:23 - Thanks, everyone.
