00:00 Today Blackpool waves a fond farewell to resort legend Gain Sedgwick who did so much for the resort and devoted many years of her life to making Blackpool's Golden Mile what it is today.
00:19 She's been described by many as having Blackpool running through her DNA but as well as being a well respected business woman she was also known for just being a very kind and compassionate person who was said to be beautiful inside and out.
00:42 So as you can see she will be very sadly missed in the town.
00:47 I've worked for Gain for many years along with a lot of my other colleagues that are here today.
00:52 And how will you remember her?
00:54 With fond memories, happiness and joy. Absolutely. Same as everybody else she was a delightful loving caring person.
01:04 How much of a shock was that?
01:06 Massive. Absolutely massive. Devastation all around really. It wasn't expected at all.
01:15 I worked for Gainer as well. She was a lovely lady. She was there for me all the time when Stephen vanished. Missed her so much.
01:29 Were you shocked with the news?
01:32 Yeah, it was a great shock. It's life I guess. She'll be missed by a lot of people definitely.
01:43 What will you remember her for the most?
01:47 Always being there for me. Always there for me. I can't say nothing else.
01:59 Here we go.

03:21 where Gaynor's funeral will be shown on
03:26 a number of screens.
03:29 So it's gonna be televised.
03:31 - So she's done a lot for this town.
03:36 - Yeah, absolutely, yeah, I'd say so.
03:38 Yeah, it's all about tourism at the end of the day,
03:40 isn't it?
03:41 And that's how, you know, people from Blackpool,
03:44 that's how we earn our money working in the leisure
03:46 and tourism industry.
03:48 So for me personally, yeah, I've enjoyed it.
03:50 I've loved it.
03:51 I've loved working on the promenade for Gaynor
03:53 over the years.
03:54 And we've done all sorts of things.
03:55 We've done go-karting.
03:57 We had one season down at Central Pier.
03:59 We've had ice cream, snow cones.
04:03 She does more wine at Christmas
04:04 than the illuminations around.
04:07 Lots of things, all sorts of things.
04:09 Always, always looking to earn a cross, eh?
04:13 An extra bit of dough.
04:15 (laughs)
04:16 That's Gaynor.
