00:51 we've got some big young players in there, but we gotta get better.
00:55 >> Are you, to that degree, the defensive interior and
01:00 linebacking investment that you guys have made financially and
01:05 draft capital wise, have you had enough returns for what you've invested in?
01:12 >> Well, I think you gotta look at it, there's a lot of, again,
01:16 it's never just one thing, right?
01:19 We finished, I believe, ninth in run defense,
01:22 yielding a little over 100 and some yards, and a big part of that fell apart.
01:27 If you look at where we were the first nine, ten games of the year,
01:31 where we ended up, there was a huge fall off.
01:35 Why?
01:36 A lot of things factor into that.
01:40 Players gotta trust one another.
01:42 When you start to search for plays and you start to search for answers,
01:46 whether it's coaches searching for answers or players searching to make plays and
01:51 not playing within the scheme of the defense, it's all it takes for
01:56 an explosive play.
01:57 And we gave up way too many explosive plays as the season went on.
02:01 We didn't protect the ball.
02:02 We didn't take the ball away.
02:04 There's a lot of things that factor into it.
02:07 We feel like we have some good players.
02:09 We feel like, and we showed that through the first ten games,
02:13 able to stop the run very consistently.
02:16 We didn't do that at the end, so we got a little more.
