Halo Infinite Tenrai - Event Guide

The Halo Infinite Tenrai event is here and brings with it new samurai-inspired Spartan armor sets and the legendary Yoroi Armor Core for players to equip. The Tenrai event has its own 30-tier Battle Pass, which is free to all players, and completing event-specific challenges will allow you to climb up the ranks and claim the pass’s rewards. For some of these challenges, you might need to hop into the new Fiesta playlist for some weapons-based chaos, as well as the usual Quickplay and Big Team Battle modes. So, if you want the details on what the Halo Infinite Tenrai event is, and how you can unlock that samurai armor, here's all the info.

00:00 Okay, so you want to get the snazzy new samurai armour in Halo Infinite. Well, you're going
00:04 to have to put in some time into the Tenrai event, but it's not that simple. Bear with
00:10 me and I'll try and explain it all.
00:13 So for starters, this armour, the one they've used in all of the advertising for this event
00:18 and arguably the sickest one, you cannot get in the game at all right now. It's not there.
00:24 It's not in the battle pass, you can't grind your way to it, you can't pay for it and
00:28 343 haven't said when it'll even be available. We think it'll be in one of these future
00:34 event weeks in January or February, but who knows?
00:38 There are two other things you need to know. This event is free and will get you some nice
00:42 looking cosmetics. However, even if you played for days on end, there is a limit to what
00:47 you can unlock. You can only unlock these first seven in the first week. When the event
00:52 ends, your progress should be kept so you can come back to these in later weeks to keep
00:56 unlocking more stuff. So it's nice you're not forced to do everything in one week, but
01:02 it does mean that all of this cool stuff that you actually want isn't going to be available
01:06 until March or April. Can you be bothered to wait that long? I'm not sure I can.
01:13 So this is where the frustration of having to wait probably pushes you towards buying
01:18 the cool samurai armour outright or getting the battle pass. So how does the battle pass
01:24 help you? Well, players who pony up for the premium battle pass are able to work towards
01:28 completing four challenges at once rather than the baseline three. You also get more
01:34 challenge swaps. These challenge swaps basically let you swap out a challenge you've been
01:38 given to make it easier on yourself. So for example, instead of having to get a headshot
01:43 from across the map with a sniper, you get something easier like play three matches.
01:48 The Tenrai event pass is also filled with challenge swaps and XP grants to fill in the
01:53 gaps. The XP grants in this event pass do differ from the battle passes XP boosts as
01:59 they give at least a certain amount of XP rather than boosting the amount of XP you're
02:05 earning for a limited time. So it's just a big chunk of XP you can be given which can
02:09 put you up a couple of levels instead of you having to play matches to get XP that is then
02:13 multiplied as you're getting it. This means they should really help you climb through
02:17 the regular battle pass levels. The fracture Tenrai event for Halo Infinite multiplayer
02:22 has its own event pass that works similarly to the regular battle pass. It's only got
02:27 30 reward tiers instead of the usual 100 and it's free for all players. So you won't
02:32 have to spend any real money to get a premium version of the event pass. You can also access
02:37 it as soon as you log in while the event is at least still active. There's no need to
02:40 download or unlock anything to get access, which is great. So here are most of the rewards
02:47 that you can get from the free Halo Infinite Tenrai event pass.
02:51 So how do you start progressing through all of these levels to start getting all that
02:55 nice looking stuff? Well, you can only level up the Tenrai event pass by completing very
03:00 specific challenges. The special Fiesta playlist challenges that are currently active are marked
03:06 with an orange banner to show that they are specific to the event. So look out for them.
03:11 Completing one of these event challenges will give you one level. One event challenge, one
03:15 level. Which is great, nice and simple. So you'll need to complete 30 event challenges
03:18 to complete all the way through this pass and get all those things that you just saw.
03:22 Now remember, it's impossible to do this in the first week of the event as you can
03:26 only do seven challenges, seven challenges, seven levels. So don't bother grinding Halo
03:31 Infinite multiplayer as hard as you can in the hopes of finishing the pass ahead of the
03:35 upcoming events because there really is no point. The first mode with these challenges
03:40 is Fiesta, which you can find on the normal game mode list in the Halo Infinite multiplayer
03:44 lobby. Fiesta follows the regular four versus four slayer rules, except all players spawn
03:49 with a random weapon and equipment loadout. Using your random weapons or picking up new
03:53 ones from defeated players, you've got to reach 50 points before the other team do.
03:58 There are probably going to be different game modes throughout the events in the upcoming
04:00 weeks. At the moment it's Fiesta, probably change something else. So keep in mind when
04:04 you're playing each mode, what challenge you're trying to do. Earning 10 assists is a very
04:09 different play style to getting a double kill. So be aware of what you're trying to get
04:13 for that challenge. So the Ten Rai event will occur six times over the course of Halo Infinite's
04:18 planned first season. And that first season ends in May 2022. So it's going to take a
04:24 while to get through all of those levels when you can only do seven in each week. And each
04:29 week isn't concurrent. As you can see here by the list of dates, they're split up. So
04:33 you've got to wait a couple of weeks and then you can do it. So you've got to get through
04:36 all of that big slog for a long period of time and you might have to wait till May.
04:41 So in summarising all of this, most of the cool stuff you're going to have to pay for.
04:45 And while there is some things you can get for free, which is great, it's probably going
04:48 to take around six months to get by playing very specific game modes. Good luck Spartans.
04:55 Seems like it's going to be a long slog.
