Dev Patel, Oscar nominee (Lion, Slumdog Millionaire), makes an impressive directing debut with Monkey Man, an action thriller. The film follows Kid, played by Patel, who seeks vengeance against corrupt leaders for murdering his mother and oppressing the poor. Kid, inspired by the legend of Hanuman, survives in an underground fight club, wearing a gorilla mask for cash. Driven by suppressed rage, he infiltrates the city's elite to settle the score and unleash retribution with his mysteriously scarred hands.
