A total of 67 individuals, including 49 foreign women, were arrested by the police for prostitution during a large-scale raid in Johor last Thursday (Jan 25).

00:09 during a large-scale raid in Johor on Thursday.
00:12 A total of 17 premises were raided, and those arrested were aged between 21 and 61.
00:19 In a statement on Saturday, Johor Police Chief Commissioner M. Kumar said the main targets
00:25 were the premises that have been suspected of running immoral activities.
00:30 Among items seized were condoms, massage oil, working schedules, receipts, various types
00:35 of drugs, and cash.
00:37 The suspects are currently waiting to be remanded to help with the investigations.
00:43 The case is being investigated under Section 107 of the Local Government Act 1976 for operating
00:50 without a license, also for exploiting any person for prostitution, soliciting for prostitution,
00:57 and using a premise for immoral activity.
01:00 Police will also investigate the case under Section 39, Subsection (b) of the Dangerous
01:06 Drugs Act 1952 for the distribution of drugs.
