Segway-Ninebot is one of the leading players in the field of e-mobility and demonstrates its dominance thanks to the wide range of products in its product range.
At the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), numerous electric mobility companies showcased their latest innovations for the world to see. Segway-Ninebot was no different. One of its new products, Xyber, has attracted a lot of attention, especially due to its motorcycle-inspired design and powerful electric motor.
But Segway-Ninebot shows that Xyber is different from every other e-bike on the market. For starters, it claims an incredible amount of torque, with 175 Nm (130 pound-feet) of torque. This delivers a thrilling zero-to-20 mph acceleration time of just 2.5 seconds; That's certainly not fast for a motorcycle, but it's pretty fast for an e-bike. As for the battery, it packs two 1,440 watt-hours, offering 95 miles of range on a single charge. The bike also features a strong front suspension fork with 120 millimeters of travel for extra comfort and improved off-road performance.
For this Product Segway-Ninebot decided to use a set of standard bicycle pedals and chains. This means you can ride this two-wheeler like any other bike. Judging by the images, it looks like it is equipped with a standard bike drivetrain, derailleur gears and all other hardware. With this, a return throttle is achieved for a simulated motorcycle experience without having to pedal.
Segway-Ninebot has yet to announce pricing and availability for its new Xyber e-bike. Other features such as top speed and optional extras are also yet to be announced. What we do know is that the bike will have a host of tech features like a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity and even a nifty Active Scene Sensing feature that adjusts lighting and power delivery according to the terrain. The large digital display is mounted on the handlebars, just like on motorcycles, and keeps the rider informed of relevant riding data at all times.
