00:00 This one that says I love CH.
00:02 Oh, this one says I love CH.
00:04 Who do you think tattooed that on his foot?
00:06 Was it you? Nice.
00:08 Let's go. Second career.
00:10 Ha! Yeah, you're right.
00:12 So, the first thing I have to ask about is
00:20 Daryl. Because he's clearly been
00:22 on a journey for ever since
00:24 Captain America Civil War.
00:26 You're the first person to ask about Daryl.
00:28 In the film, he's the tour guide.
00:30 Yes. A new ass guy.
00:32 I love that
00:34 that thing that we shot before Ragnarok,
00:36 those little short films,
00:38 kind of set the tone
00:40 for the character. It was like a little experiment.
00:42 We're like, "Oh, let's see what Thor's like
00:44 when he's a bit more human."
00:46 And a bit more
00:48 improvisational and wacky.
00:50 We had kind of no... There was no risk.
00:52 And then we walked on set and we thought,
00:54 "Let's kind of keep that going."
00:56 And so is the idea that
00:58 Thor was just such a terrible roommate that he actually
01:00 got him a job in New Asgard?
01:02 He owed Daryl money.
01:04 "I'll get you a job in New Asgard. You're gonna love it."
01:06 In Norway.
01:08 Right, D? Yep.
01:10 One scene that I wanted to ask
01:14 about specifically is the scene
01:16 with all the children. Because
01:18 you're playing almost a horror villain
01:20 showing up in front of this group. What was that experience like?
01:22 It was like the
01:24 worst birthday party performer
01:26 ever. And we did actually sit there
01:28 and we went through so much. That was just
01:30 one of a bunch of things that
01:32 Tyker and I made up on the spot. He was just
01:34 sitting near the camera going, "Ah, try doing
01:36 this thing and do that." We did a whole bunch of different
01:38 things. And that was
01:40 the one that
01:42 we chose. But we had a lot of fun,
01:44 a lot of creativity. We went
01:46 to some really bloody funny places
01:48 and we also went to some very, very
01:50 creepy, dark places. Both
01:52 of which were probably a little bit too extreme.
01:54 We want to make sure that this is a family
01:56 film. And, you know,
01:58 I took my kids to it last night and they
02:00 just adored it. And what was it like
02:02 interacting between shots with the kids?
02:04 Like, were they... Oh, actually
02:06 no, they were fascinated.
02:08 It's the thing about playing a villain, isn't it? People
02:10 are fascinated with the villain.
02:12 So the first few days, I spent a lot
02:14 of days with all the kids, but the first few days
02:16 they were all a little bit kind of looking at me
02:18 and Tyker's little girl, she was hysterical.
02:20 She would stare daggers at me, you know.
02:22 I would try talking to her and she was
02:24 having none of it. She was just like,
02:26 just looking at me like, "You stay
02:28 away." She just would... She demolished
02:30 me with every time. She looked
02:32 strong little character.
02:34 But initially they were all staying, keeping their
02:36 distance. But then as they
02:38 recognised just how harmless
02:40 and silly I am,
02:42 they were all coming up and like, "Go on,
02:44 do the Black Bile thing. Do this. Give
02:46 me the necrosyl." The necrosyl would get passed
02:48 around everybody and then people would be coming in,
02:50 "Christian, is that the sharp one? Please don't let the kids
02:52 play with that one. Oh, it's the rubber version.
02:54 Okay, great." But they were fascinated.
02:56 Wanted to touch all the scarring and
02:58 whatnot and
03:00 yeah, it was a great deal of fun.
03:02 Today, we'll go
03:04 down in history. How exciting.
03:06 Today, we'll fight!
03:08 And this is spoilery
03:10 and I promise to hold it until the movie comes out,
03:12 but I do want to ask about The Whisper,
03:14 because I know... I'm assuming that
03:16 you're not going to tell me what it actually said,
03:18 but I'm curious if there was a
03:20 specific line and you could just talk about
03:22 filming that scene?
03:24 Yeah, that scene was
03:26 really, really fun to...
03:28 really fun to
03:30 shoot and yes, there is
03:32 a specific line, but I will never reveal it.
03:34 Never?
03:36 The one that got away.
03:38 The one that got away. That means escaped.
03:40 Yeah. Yeah.
03:42 Well, this is kind of spoilery,
03:44 but I need to ask about the tattoo,
03:46 because the R&B Loki tattoo.
03:48 This one?
03:50 This one that says "I love C.H."
03:52 Oh, this one that says "I love C.H."
03:54 Who do you think tattooed that on his foot?
03:56 Was it you? Nice.
03:58 Skills. Second career.
04:00 What was the design process for that?
04:02 He just did it freehand.
04:04 The design process of the Loki
04:08 tattoo of the beak. Did you come up with that?
04:10 Yeah, that was my...
04:12 I tried to get that in Ragnarok.
04:14 Yeah, yeah. Rest in peace.
04:16 Him and Loki were talking and he goes
04:18 "I thought you were dead."
04:20 "I mourned you. I got this tattoo."
04:22 And it says "RIP Loki."
04:24 We had another opportunity to do it
04:26 this time and Kevin was like "Yeah, let's
04:28 go big though. Let's put it
04:30 all over his back." We had another tattoo
04:32 reference as well when we were talking about rollerblading.
04:34 Thor and J.
04:36 Was it Blade?
04:38 Once you Blade, you never fade.
04:40 But that didn't make it in the movie.
04:42 Yeah.
04:44 You
04:46 are not like the other gods of kill.
04:48 You have something worth
04:50 fighting for.
