00:00 Thanks for being late.
00:04 We would like to read the agency statement in regard to the allegation that our president is in the watch list.
00:14 So, we are reading the official statement of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency,
00:20 that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. was never in our watch list.
00:26 The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency categorically states that President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. is not in its watch list,
00:36 contrary to the statement of former President Rodrigo Duterte, claiming that, and we quote,
00:42 "When he was the mayor of Davao, he was shown evidence by BDEA that in the list, the name of the president was there."
00:51 End of quote. Former President Duterte was mayor of Davao from 1988 to 1998, from 2001 to 2010, then 2013 to 2016.
01:02 BDEA, on the other hand, was activated on July 30 of 2002.
01:08 When the agency was activated, it established its National Drug Information System, or NDIS, which is still in existence today.
01:18 The NDIS is the intelligence database of all drug personalities,
01:23 gathering inputs from counterparts from both law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
01:29 Pursuant to its mandate under Public Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,
01:35 BDEA regularly conducts intelligence workshops in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies to update the NDIS.
01:44 From its inception in 2002 and up to the present, President Ferdinand Romualdo Marcos was never in our NDIS.
01:54 It is worthwhile to note that when the former president took over in 2016,
02:00 his administration came up with a list, which was then initially called the Narcolist,
02:05 sometimes referred to as the Duterte or PRRD list.
02:09 And upon continuing validation and revalidation, it became the Interagency Drug Information Database, or IDID.
02:19 The name of President Marcos is also not in the said list.
02:25 Based on all the foregoing facts, the BDEA asserts that President Marcos Jr. is not and was never in its watch list.
02:34 And so, our statement exerts an impulse. Thank you very much.
