00:00 The fire that broke out in Balongbato, Quezon City is under control.

00:05 And for the first news, live, James Agustin is back.

00:09 James, how is the situation there?

00:12 Marie, it took almost 3 hours for the fire to be completely controlled.

00:20 In a construction and furniture store here in Balongbato, Quezon City.

00:26 At 6.42am this morning, the Bureau of Fire Protection or BFP declared the fire under control.

00:32 Before that, the fire reached the second alarm.

00:34 15 fire trucks of BFP were required to respond here in the area,

00:37 as well as fire volunteers.

00:39 It was 4am when the fire started.

00:42 The employees immediately went out.

00:45 But 3 of them were required to be rushed to the hospital

00:48 after they were hit by bullets to the body.

00:51 It was difficult to evacuate because of the furniture made of wood.

00:55 They added painted, varnished and steel objects.

00:59 So firefighters used chemicals to speed up their operation.

01:03 Some employees said that the fire started in the production area.

01:06 They tried to extinguish the fire but they couldn't.

01:10 They also helped in evacuating the vehicles

01:13 that were parked in front of the establishment.

01:16 We are still trying to get the warehouse manager's report

01:19 to find out how many employees were inside when the fire happened.

01:24 This morning, Fire Senior Inspector Ronel Singhontian

01:27 and Station 6 Commander of BFP Quezon City

01:30 investigated the fire that started on the ground floor.

01:34 Meanwhile, Marie, as you can see,

01:38 the smoke is still thick coming from the establishment.

01:41 We can see that the firefighters are using breathing apparatus.

01:46 But as you can see, the smoke is now more intense

01:50 compared to when the fire was really big.

01:54 Because it's now under control, according to BFP,

01:57 it's not possible for it to spread to the next establishment

02:00 because next to it is a warehouse that contains a freezer.

02:08 the West Service Road that leads to Quirino Highway

02:12 in Barangay Balumbato is still not passed
