00:00 A British couple famous on social media for their globe-trotting adventures in a camper
00:05 van have been asked to come forward in an investigation involving a traffic policeman
00:11 who allegedly abused his authority.
00:13 Perak Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohamad Yusri Hassan Basri said the police
00:19 are currently looking for the fishers who are behind the "Tread the Globe" videos
00:23 on social media.
00:25 In one of their recent videos during their trip to Malaysia, Chris and Marianne Fisher
00:30 filmed a traffic policeman who had allegedly offered to settle a traffic ticket that he
00:35 had just issued.
00:37 Commissioner Yusri said Bukit Aman needs to determine where the incident occurred, whether
00:41 in Kelantan, Pahang or Perak, adding that the case is being handled by the Bukit Aman
00:46 Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.
00:50 In the video posted on January 28, a traffic policeman stopped the couple for allegedly
00:56 speeding downhill along Jalan Simpang Pulai, Cameron Highlands in their camper van named
01:02 "Trudy".
01:03 The traffic policeman claimed the fishers had driven over the speed limit and gave them
01:08 two options - either pay 300 ringgit to settle the summons at a police station or pay 100
01:15 ringgit on the spot.
