00:00 We are today launching our biggest launch ever at Volvo Trucks.
00:04 We are introducing a completely new product range both for the North American market and also then for the European market, Asia and then Australia.
00:13 We are now reducing here with a lot of emissions and then bringing down the CO2 level.
00:19 The fuel consumption that we are taking out in reduction in North America is up to 10%.
00:25 What we are taking out for the Europe, Asia and the Asian product range is up to 5% out of already a big reduction in terms of fuel consumption.
00:35 We are also then extending our product range of electrical trucks from 8 units, from 6 units in serial production to 8 units in serial production.
00:44 And by that we are making a significant impact by then reducing then the carbon emissions.
00:50 And this is part of your battery electric phase on the road to net zero.
00:55 But for that you need charging infrastructure everywhere you operate it.
01:00 So what needs to happen and where?
01:03 There is not a silver bullet solution for all the transport sectors and we need to then have efficient carbon reduction in all kind of market and all kind of trucks.
01:14 So therefore we are making application for all kind of segments, all kind of markets and also then all kind of customers.
01:21 But one area that we are then focus on a lot is then battery electrical trucks and we are driving out that segment.
01:27 We have then a leading position in Europe with 50% market share.
01:32 We have a strong position in North America as well and we have delivered battery electrical trucks to 45 countries around the world.
01:39 But of course to have the big growth into the battery electrical trucks we need charging and we need to then expand in the charging infrastructure.
01:47 But it also need to have electrical capacity as well to drive these electrical trucks.
01:53 So let's talk about fuels of the future because the big change is going to be green hydrogen.
01:58 So what's the time frame for that or is it still too expensive for heavy duty fleets?
02:04 What I said before there is not a silver bullet solution for the different technologies to move them to set net zero emissions in 2040.
02:14 So we are having then different solution.
02:16 We said that we have battery electric, we have fuel cells and we have then the current combustion engine run on renewable fuels.
02:24 When we are looking at fuel cells then we think that we will come out with products here in serial production in the end of this decade and that is what we are working towards.
02:33 And investing for as well.
02:35 Roger Elm, CEO of Volvo Trucks, thank you.
