18:02 she was involved in a coordinated online smear campaign against Meghan Markle and Prince
18:07 Harry.
18:08 So immediately she reached out to her mom and then contacted her lawyers.
18:13 And she expected that her appearance in the series was going to be related to people expressing
18:18 negative opinions about the couple online.
18:28 As she does on her opinion-based YouTube channel.
18:35 However, she claims that the docuseries made false and defamatory allegations against her,
18:41 which ended up impacting her content creation business.
18:51 And she had this to say in a video that she made about this.
18:54 It's defamation, it's slander, it's mischaracterization, and you know what else it is?

19:11 During the Harry and Meghan docuseries, an interview with Bot Sentinel CEO Christopher
19:16 Boozy was featured discussing their findings that 70% of online hate against Meghan Markle
19:23 could be traced back to a small number of Twitter accounts.
19:37 While the identities of the women involved were not revealed, Shalyn Lester was shown
19:43 among the three women presented on screen.
19:47 And Shalyn Lester, she who's a journalist herself, turned YouTuber, known for her commentary
19:53 on dating and celebrity topics and things like that, compared the situation to someone
19:58 seeing their face flash across the screen in a documentary about Jeffrey Epstein.

20:13 Shalyn Lester strongly denied any involvement in any type of online smear campaign against
20:19 Meghan Markle and Harry, and she was completely mystified by the lack of evidence or proof
20:27 that was provided in the documentary.
20:34 She also pointed out that there was no traceable footprint of her involvement at all, because
20:40 for one, her Twitter account is private and she has not tweeted in years.
20:46 So then, following the documentary, Shalyn Lester claimed to have experienced personal
20:51 attacks in her Instagram DMs and YouTube comments from fans of Meghan and Harry.
20:58 Also she stated that there has been a noticeable decrease in brands wanting to work with her
21:04 since the release of the documentary.
21:07 So currently at the time of filming this video, Shalyn Lester and her attorney are in the
21:12 process of gathering information and conducting research to prepare for potential legal action.
21:18 While no legal action has been taken yet, Shalyn Lester is focused on getting an apology
21:23 and holding everyone who was involved accountable.
21:27 And she did mention too that financial compensation would also be appreciated.
