00:00 Billionaires have busy schedules, but there's one thing that we know for sure.
00:03 There's 12 events that are always on their calendars.
00:07 Hi, I'm Joy Marie McKenzie, and I am Business Insider's Editor-in-Chief of our Life Division.
00:12 Billionaires are not hard to find, even if there are only 2,600 of them.
00:18 In January, billionaires descend on Davos in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum.
00:23 This event is invite-only, and it's a beautiful location,
00:27 a ski resort where there's tons of fancy dinners, panels.
00:31 So you may even see Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates walking the streets,
00:34 attending a fancy dinner or attending one of these panels, or anywhere in between.
00:38 In February, it's all about the Super Bowl.
00:40 They're sure to be a billionaire in the stands.
00:42 I mean, look, tons of them own teams, right?
00:45 Jerry Jones owns the Cowboys.
00:47 When I bought the Cowboys, they were losing a million cash a month.
00:51 So the billionaire experience at any football game, but especially the Super Bowl,
00:55 involves thousands of dollars.
00:57 Not only are they going to be inside luxury suites with unlimited food,
01:01 it comes complete with a concierge that goes in and out of their box,
01:04 so they never have to leave their luxury experience.
01:07 And there's tons of after parties.
01:09 They're not at bars, they're at fancy, swanky restaurants, termed nightclubs.
01:13 And in fact, in previous big games, billionaires like Jeff Bezos showed up.
01:17 So if you can get in, it's a scene.
01:20 In March, it's off to Hong Kong for Art Basel.
01:22 So if you're into art or just want to know who's collecting, this is the place to be.
01:26 Some of the billionaires that you might see here are Yahoo's co-founder
01:30 and a local real estate magnate, Adam Kwok, are among its attendees.
01:34 And one of the fair's most famous sales came in 2018,
01:38 when Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen sold a piece for a whopping $35 million
01:44 to a private collector.
01:46 I sure wonder who got that.
01:47 In April, forget about the Easter bunny.
01:50 It's time to head to Georgia for a little round of golf.
01:52 Of course, it's the Masters Tournament at one of the most exclusive golf clubs,
01:56 and so many billionaires are among its members.
01:59 Little known fact, though, they didn't allow women to join until 2012,
02:02 so I'm glad they got it together.
02:04 If you want to rub shoulders with Warren Buffett and Bill Gates,
02:07 tickets for the Masters are through a lottery system, so good luck.
02:10 But you could score tickets on the secondary market for $10,000, if you got it.
02:16 If you're looking for sun, head to the CanFilm Festival in May.
02:20 Not only are the biggest Hollywood superstars walking the red carpet along the closet,
02:24 but you also might see a billionaire.
02:27 The only way to get to Cannes if you are a billionaire is by your yacht, or superyacht.
02:32 In fact, Jeff Bezos has a $500 million superyacht that starts its grand tour
02:37 around the world to some of the world's exclusive spots here in Cannes.
02:40 So in June, billionaires head to London for the Royal Ascot.
02:45 It's a horse race, five-day event that over 300,000 people attend.
02:51 And unsurprisingly, the British royal family are among the attendees.
02:55 But there's also tons of billionaires.
02:57 In July, not only are your kids going to summer camp, but so are tons of billionaires.
03:02 In fact, they're trekking to this very small town called Hayley, Idaho,
03:06 that you and I have probably never heard of,
03:08 but these billionaires are going every single year for the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference.
03:13 Since 1983, Herbert Allen, a billionaire himself,
03:17 has created this invitation-only event where only the biggest and richest names are in the building.
03:22 I'm talking Rupert Murdoch, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett.
03:26 They're all there.
03:28 And in fact, these are where some of the biggest deals are made.
03:30 Jeff Bezos snagged the Washington Post for $250 million in 2013,
03:36 and it's where the seed for Disney's acquisition of ABC were planted in 1995.
03:40 I mean, there's big business happening here.
03:42 In August, they finally get some time to really relax and unplug
03:46 by trekking to the desert to Burning Man.
03:48 Billionaires are not doing Burning Man like the rest of us.
03:52 In fact, even how they get there is pretty cool.
03:55 They build a pop-up airport where their charter jets and private jets
03:59 can land right onto the desert.
04:00 In fact, they're building these really gorgeous campsites
04:03 with air conditioning, private shafts, and the like.
04:06 So, mud? I don't think so.
04:08 Billionaires are saying farewell to summer in Monte Carlo at the Monaco Yacht Show.
04:14 It's where they're bringing their yachts and superyachts to the place to be
04:17 to show off their boats.
04:18 And I mean, their boats are something to be seen.
04:22 There's over 100 boats on display, with an average of nearly 200 feet,
04:26 which is so huge.
04:28 They feature elevators, spas, hot tubs, even helipads.
04:32 Yes, helipads for their helicopters.
04:35 If you thought jet skis were nice, take a look at these boats.
04:38 In the past, yachts owned by billionaires like Paul Allen, Steve Wynn,
04:42 and Pierluigi have been exhibited at the show.
04:45 It's open to the public, so great for us,
04:47 but we'd have to pay over $640 a day to attend.
04:52 In October, which is honestly the best month of the year
04:54 because it's my birthday month,
04:56 is the Friis Art Fair held annually in London.
04:59 And tons of billionaires are spotted here,
05:01 including diamond titan Laurence Graff.
05:03 The Friis Art Fair shows off some of the most expensive
05:06 contemporary art found in the world today.
05:09 The pieces that are sold at this art fair can go for millions of dollars,
05:13 but they keep it really under wraps and mysterious,
05:15 so we never quite know what's purchased,
05:18 but we just know it's really expensive.
05:20 And if you want to go see it for yourself,
05:22 tickets are actually really affordable.
05:24 This year, they're averaging around $50.
05:26 In November, it's all about checking to Paris for Le Ball.
05:31 It's an invite-only debutante ball
05:33 where the founder handpicks 20 debutantes to attend each year.
05:37 And some of these names you might recognize.
05:39 The children of Forrest Whitaker have attended,
05:41 Reese Witherspoon's children have attended,
05:44 even Lori Harvey,
05:45 and of course, tons of billionaire children from around the world.
05:48 It's a really huge honor to be selected for this debutante ball.
05:51 And if you love Bridgerton, this is like your dream night.
05:55 December, St. Barts.
05:57 This is one I would like to go to.
06:00 So forget about Aspen and the Maldives
06:02 if you're a billionaire and you're looking to ring in the new year.
06:05 It's all about St. Barts right there in the Caribbean.
06:08 Tons of billionaires and Hollywood flock to St. Barts,
06:12 including Diane von Furstenberg, David Geffen.
06:15 We've spotted there several times.
06:17 I love these events.
06:18 I would like to go.
06:19 I would like to be a billionaire.
06:20 So if any billionaires are looking to create one, sign me up.
