00:02 - We've been waiting for the market movement here
00:07 to tilt here on the free agent signing.
00:09 'Cause as you stated, there are hundreds of players out
00:11 that are probably still needed to be signed
00:13 to the respective ball clubs here.
00:15 But we finally get some movement.
00:16 Justin Turner with the Blue Jays here.
00:18 Do you like that move number one?
00:20 And number two, when is that explosion of left and right?
00:23 We can't keep up with how many players
00:25 are being signed back to their baseball clubs.
00:28 - I mean, Donnie, I don't know the answer to that.
00:30 It's look, we had these lines of demarcation
00:33 for the last month.
00:34 It's Otani, it's Yamamoto, it's January,
00:37 it's the Superbowl, it's this.
00:38 Nobody knows the answer to it at this point.
00:40 We're kind of all guessing.
00:42 And we saw a couple of years ago,
00:44 this go deep into spring training
00:46 and almost up until the season in March.
00:49 I mean, look, could that happen?
00:50 Is that in the plans?
00:51 It's certainly possible at this point.
00:53 It's not something that anybody wants to happen,
00:56 but there's just simply too many players that are out there
00:58 to think that all of these players could get signed
01:01 in the next couple of weeks.
01:02 And at this point, I also don't,
01:04 look, it's annoying the fact that some of Scott Borris'
01:07 key guys are still unsigned,
01:08 but for me to hold him completely accountable
01:11 for all of this when there are so many other players
01:13 that are still out there,
01:13 that feels sort of silly too, like this domino effect.
01:16 We just keep going back to this domino effect.
01:18 The domino effect never happened
01:20 in the off season for baseball
01:21 with any of these guys that have signed.
01:23 As far as Turner is concerned,
01:25 I would have preferred they signed Soler.
01:27 We talked about that last week.
01:29 I thought Soler was the perfect fit for them.
01:31 Maybe he still is.
01:32 I don't think the Blue Jays can be done at this point.
01:35 And they kind of put themselves out there
01:37 in a position where it looked like
01:38 they were willing to invest between six and 700 million
01:41 in Shohei Otani.
01:42 So certainly they can get a lot more than Justin Turner
01:44 if they wanted to.
01:45 You would think their payroll could go up to 250, 260
01:48 if they needed to do that.
01:49 But face value, Turner's gonna deliver offense.
01:51 He always does wherever he goes.
01:53 He probably can play until he's 45.
01:55 He did it in Boston.
01:56 He did it in LA.
01:56 He'll do it in Toronto, Donnie, this year too.
