00:00 There is no end to the number of unconsolidated jeeps that were unloaded today after the deadline was set for April 30.

00:07 Some jeepney operators said that they are having a hard time registering

00:10 because of the requirements for consolidation under the POV Modernization Program.

00:15 We have news from Joseph Morong.

00:17 According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB,

00:25 more than 20,000 jeepneys have not yet been registered or possibly only in Metro Manila.

00:31 But due to the extension given by the President along with the consolidation,

00:35 jeepneys will have a chance to register by April 30.

00:39 The problem is, according to the Manibela Group, they are having a hard time registering

00:43 because the requirements are being made for proof that they should be consolidated,

00:47 which is what they are pushing for.

00:49 When the House Committee on Transportation heard this, the LTFRB changed its mind.

00:54 We are not requiring any application for consolidation before we confirm them

01:00 because the President said that we will extend it until April 30.

01:05 But the LTFRB did not allow the time to register to be consolidated under the POV Modernization Program.

01:12 However, according to Piston and Manibela, who are in charge of consolidation,

01:16 we will not join the consolidation because we saw the loopholes here.

01:22 Some congressmen said that the extension will not solve the real problems of the POV Modernization Program

01:28 such as the lack of a Route Rationalization Plan

01:31 and its violation of the right to life under the Constitution.

01:35 The LTFRB is saying that they are reviewing the program.

01:38 They are suggesting for the DOTR to seriously consider the requirement of industry consolidation.

01:46 That is what we are doing now.

01:47 Piston and Manibela are hoping that the resolution will be released by the camera

01:52 to suspend the POV Modernization Program as well as the resolution that extended the deadline of consolidation.

01:59 We are hoping that the House has the right to propose a House Bill to suspend the program.
