00:00 a lock. And I'm going to call Dinah.
00:04 [phone ringing]
00:18 [music]
00:44 Hello, PEPsters! Welcome back to another PEPlive episode.
00:49 This week is a real jump-back.
00:53 It's almost weekend, but we're not ending this week
00:57 without talking to our guests today.
01:01 One of our guests is a dancer on the dance floor,
01:04 and the other is a great songwriter.
01:07 The stars of the 25th annual Batnam County Spelling Bee,
01:11 Bonifacio and Angela Kim. Hello, girls!
01:14 Hello!
01:17 I like how you're all dancing together.
01:22 Your energy is on another level.
01:25 Yes!
01:27 Let's greet our PEPsters.
01:30 Hello, PEPsters! Good afternoon, morning, and evening, wherever you are.
01:36 Thank you for joining us today. Let's enjoy today.
01:41 Hello, PEPsters! It's been a while.
01:44 It's nice to be back. Let's enjoy today.
01:47 Correct! Let's enjoy this PEPlive episode.
01:51 It's fun because it's like a reunion.
01:56 It's been a while. We've just talked for a while.
01:59 We have a lot to talk about because of your latest project.
02:02 But before anything else, let's start our PEPlive with a burning question.
02:08 There.
02:20 I'll give you the burning question, and you have to answer it right away.
02:26 But you have to give the explanation before we end our episode.
02:32 You can be serious with your question.
02:36 Actually, it's more like a dream question.
02:42 The question is,
02:44 "If you were to replace a lead character from a local movie, series, or play, who would it be?"
02:55 Let's start with AC.
02:58 There's no explanation, right? Just answer?
03:03 Yes, we'll explain later.
03:06 I'll go with Kat from "Got to Believe."
03:12 Oh, Katri from "Got to Believe."
03:14 Okay, Angela.
03:16 That's a hard one.
03:23 Is it movie?
03:26 It's an NLE.
03:28 Any project that you want to replace and you're the one who's in charge of it.
03:36 That's it.
03:38 Ms. Marian Rivera, rewind.
03:43 Correct. That's it.
03:45 If it's just...
03:47 You're watching it.
03:50 You're going to raise it, right?
03:53 We'll get back to your answers later.
03:56 You'll explain why those are your answers.
03:59 Now, let's talk about your latest project.
04:02 This is the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
04:07 I was a bit nervous.
04:09 Actually, I read it over and over again so I won't make a mistake for you.
04:14 So, what is this about, girls?
04:16 What is 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee about?
04:21 The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is an interactive musical comedy
04:33 consisting of six middle school spellers
04:37 who will discover themselves all throughout the competition.
04:44 All of them aim to win the championship.
04:47 What is the character that you're playing in this project?
04:54 I play Marcy Park alternating with Shania Gomez, who you know.
05:02 Marcy Park is your typical Asian girl.
05:08 She has a lot of talents.
05:11 She's scared of disappointing people.
05:16 She has a lot of pressure on her shoulders.
05:18 She goes into the Spelling Bee with that kind of mindset.
05:21 But she will come out as a whole different person.
05:24 What about you, Angela?
05:27 For sure, everyone has growth here.
05:32 But this is the side of growth of your character.
05:36 What about you, Angela?
05:38 I'll be playing Olive Ostrovsky, one of the newest spellers of the Spelling Bee.
05:45 I'll alternate with Crystal Brimner.
05:49 Olive is a very shy girl because she's new to the Spelling Bee.
05:59 But at the same time, I can describe her as a very strong girl
06:10 because her problems are related to her family.
06:16 It's good to watch her because almost all spellers
06:21 will come out as different people after the Spelling Bee.
06:28 So, this is a live production.
06:30 Yes, it's live.
06:33 If you've given your best, that's it.
06:40 What's the difference in terms of preparation, girls,
06:46 when the project is taped live?
06:49 Let's go with AC.
06:52 One thing for me, maybe it's the rehearsal time.
06:58 It's less rehearsal time when it's taped.
07:01 Because we always know that we can do a second take.
07:04 But for us, so far, we have been every single day of the year.
07:10 From January 2020 to the beginning of 2024,
07:15 our mindset is just Spelling Bee.
07:18 It's been so fun. We've been learning so much.
07:22 We've been creating a family here.
07:24 So, that's the main thing for me.
07:28 It's longer rehearsal hours because we're really live.
07:33 Correct. We keep saying live.
07:37 And if that's what happened, that's it.
07:39 That's what will flow in your project.
07:45 But earlier, you mentioned interactive.
07:49 I found out that you'll have guest spellers from the audience.
07:54 It's really challenging.
07:55 Aside from being live, you'll have guest spellers.
07:59 So, this is like trying out improvisation skills.
08:03 Yes.
08:04 How's your preparation for that part?
08:08 Maybe, that's why we're like this while preparing.
08:16 Because we don't have the choices that guest spellers make.
08:21 So, all possible choices or decisions of spellers,
08:27 we experimented and tried.
08:31 Of course, it's hard.
08:33 There's no easy musical or theater play.
08:38 But maybe that's what makes our show unique.
08:45 It's because it's interactive.
08:47 So, there are a lot of possibilities.
08:52 Even us, we can't guarantee what the ending will be.
08:58 But that's how it is.
09:00 So, it's very exciting.
09:01 Every show will be very different.
09:04 That's what's exciting.
09:07 Because you'll make sure to your audience that every show will be different.
09:13 Because you don't know what the guest spellers are thinking.
09:18 But just like live, there are a lot of things that can happen.
09:23 Even if we said that you already anticipated and rehearsed,
09:27 there are still surprises.
09:29 "Oh my God, we can't do this."
09:31 How can you overcome that when it happens live?
09:36 AC.
09:41 That's a good one.
09:43 I don't know.
09:44 But I think we've gotten used to it.
09:47 Whether it's musical, whether it's theater or on TV or just like a performer,
09:52 the show must go on is our main motto in life.
09:57 So, no matter what happens, we adjust and adjust.
10:01 We just keep going with the show.
10:03 At the end of the day, yes, there's an improv in this musical.
10:07 But we do have our lines.
10:08 We have our set songs.
10:10 So, as actors in the show, we just keep going.
10:15 We keep fighting.
10:16 Yes.
10:17 Correct.
10:18 Even if there's a surprise, "Oh, what's that?"
10:20 Go! We keep going.
10:22 But honestly, that's what makes the show so much fun.
10:24 Because it makes the show different every single time.
10:27 Yes.
10:28 So, if you watch it twice, you'll see a different show the second time.
10:33 Yes.
10:34 And since we're mentioning your improvisation skills,
10:36 Ariana Grande said, "Yes, and..."
10:40 Yes, and...
10:42 See?
10:43 The flow is continuous.
10:46 There's no blocking idea.
10:51 But if I were to ask you, what's the hardest part?
10:55 What's the most challenging for you guys?
10:57 The live or the tape?
10:59 The live.
11:01 Always the live.
11:03 Always.
11:04 Because we know that there's no fallback here.
11:07 There are times that you can record, you can do this and that.
11:12 And there's a second take.
11:14 But for this, we're practicing every day for it to be a good run.
11:18 If we do each live.
11:21 Yes.
11:23 That's why you have to be very careful with your preparation.
11:26 So, guys, in this project, did you audition for the role or did you handpick it?
11:31 We did audition.
11:33 We were with...
11:36 Callback.
11:37 I was a callback.
11:38 And then, it was her first audition.
11:40 So, we were both on the side.
11:42 There were a lot of people who auditioned.
11:45 So, we said...
11:46 I really thought I wouldn't get it.
11:48 Oh, my God.
11:50 We were really cold.
11:53 And we held hands.
11:55 And we waited for them to call our names.
11:57 Because we were going to be next.
11:58 We were really scared.
11:59 We said...
12:01 "Let's just do our best."
12:04 And we kept on repeating it.
12:07 As in, we were really from scratch.
12:11 We studied and researched what we were going to audition for.
12:16 What we were going to sing.
12:18 We had no idea how the audition would go.
12:21 So, really...
12:23 Actually, I thought...
12:25 Even after I auditioned,
12:28 I was already done.
12:29 They were like, "Okay, you can go home."
12:31 Angela auditioned.
12:34 She did a solo audition.
12:36 And then, you came out of the room.
12:38 I was waiting for her.
12:39 Because she was the one...
12:41 She was going to take me home.
12:44 So, I had no choice.
12:45 I had no choice.
12:46 I was waiting for her.
12:47 I was waiting for her.
12:49 She was the first one.
12:50 I was the first one.
12:51 So, I was done.
12:52 They said, "Okay, you can go home. Thank you."
12:55 So, I'm waiting there.
12:56 She comes out of her audition.
12:58 And I said, "Okay, let's go."
13:00 She goes, "Oh, babe."
13:02 She said, "I'm waiting."
13:04 I said, "Oh, no."
13:06 Because you're always like that.
13:08 Because I'm not the one waiting.
13:10 I said, "Okay. It's fine."
13:13 I said, "At least, she's my best friend."
13:15 "She's my best friend. I'll still support her."
13:18 I really didn't think I got it.
13:22 I thought Angela got it.
13:23 And I was just so happy.
13:24 Because I was like, "Oh, my gosh."
13:26 At least, one person is going to get the part.
13:28 So, I can go and support.
13:30 Even for me, when...
13:32 I was being let in.
13:34 I was like, "Hello."
13:36 "Hello."
13:37 She's in the elevator.
13:40 "Hello, sir."
13:41 "Hello."
13:44 "Okay. Go, Mika."
13:47 I was like that.
13:48 Even for me, I didn't expect that I would get it.
13:55 Because it was Christmas.
13:57 Everyone's on vacation.
13:59 We didn't receive any emails.
14:01 There was no one here.
14:02 None.
14:03 Then, one day, I really...
14:05 I just woke up.
14:07 I was in Cavite.
14:10 I was with my dog, Cas.
14:12 Someone was notifying my phone.
14:15 "Angela! Angela! Angela!"
14:18 "Check your email! Check your email!"
14:20 I said, "Why? Why? Why?"
14:22 "Did you get something? Did you get something?"
14:24 "I got something!"
14:25 I didn't stop because I was really waiting.
14:31 I was like, "If Angela gets a text and I don't get one, it's okay."
14:37 I was just excited whether it was me or her or other castmates.
14:42 Because we also saw other Star Magic artists at the audition.
14:45 Who's that? Jordan?
14:46 We went in with no expectations.
14:50 We just went in to try to start our musical theater start of the year.
14:56 With no expectations.
14:59 That's all.
15:00 I'm very excited because my first musical was in English.
15:05 Not in Tagalog.
15:09 The good thing about this, girls,
15:15 is that no matter who gets in, you support each other.
15:20 I'm curious, Acy, about your story.
15:25 When Angela was still waiting, you really waited.
15:28 I was still waiting!
15:29 How could I go home?
15:31 How could I go home?
15:32 I didn't want to go home.
15:34 I had to wait.
15:37 She was there.
15:38 She was there in a corner sofa.
15:42 We were just talking.
15:45 I could hear Angela in the room.
15:49 She was reading the script.
15:53 I was like, "Okay. Okay."
15:56 "Okay."
15:57 I wasn't like that. I think...
15:59 No.
16:00 But I was just happy to be there.
16:04 I was so nervous.
16:05 I was so nervous.
16:06 I was just so excited to be there.
16:08 That's all.
16:10 That's the good thing about your friendship.
16:12 No matter what the outcome or result of the audition is,
16:16 you're happy for each other.
16:18 But of course, there are auditions that you don't accept.
16:24 Let's say, the rejections.
16:26 Did you experience that in the showbiz industry?
16:28 Yes.
16:30 Sorry, it's my turn.
16:34 She said, "Yes."
16:37 Yes.
16:38 You're so mean.
16:40 Yes.
16:41 I'm the one who should answer.
16:43 It's my turn.
16:44 No, it's my turn.
16:45 I'm the one who should answer.
16:47 Yes, she experienced it.
16:49 Yes.
16:50 And there's a bed.
16:52 It's so comfortable.
16:53 Before I got into the showbiz industry,
17:02 all the reality competitions...
17:05 What did you audition for?
17:06 PBB, The Voice, Idol,
17:12 I don't know the names.
17:13 Even the songwriting competition.
17:18 Himighandog.
17:19 I tried almost all of them.
17:23 But I didn't get accepted even for the mall auditions.
17:28 I reached a point where I thought,
17:30 "Performing is not for me."
17:33 I'll just perform in the barangay.
17:36 Then, TikTok happened.
17:40 I'm curious about your experiences with rejections.
17:46 Because a lot of people can relate to that.
17:48 I'm one of them.
17:49 I auditioned for PBB almost 10 times.
17:53 But I didn't get accepted for all of them.
17:55 If we let that define us,
17:59 we'll stop dreaming and reach our goals.
18:05 How about you, AC?
18:06 Did you experience rejection?
18:08 Yes.
18:09 I've been rejected so many times in my life.
18:12 Why?
18:13 It's like you're full of it.
18:15 No, no.
18:17 I started as a competitive dancer.
18:22 You have to audition to get into teams.
18:26 From there, I've always been rejected.
18:28 It made me work harder and harder.
18:30 Recently, like the pandemic,
18:33 everything became self-tapes.
18:35 Whenever casting directors were doing auditions,
18:41 it was always self-tapes.
18:43 I did a lot of self-tapes in Canada.
18:46 This was before I got Riverdale.
18:48 During the Riverdale era,
18:49 I auditioned for auditions.
18:51 I did a lot of self-tapes.
18:54 I was tired of saying,
18:55 "Hello, I'm AC Bonifacio. I'm 5'2".
18:58 "I'm 18 years old."
18:59 I was so tired of it.
19:01 I was like, "I'm not going to get this again."
19:04 Then Riverdale came in.
19:06 I didn't even expect anything at all.
19:08 Of course, just like all auditions.
19:10 Then I gave in my demo.
19:11 I gave in everything.
19:13 Then I got picked.
19:14 It was really like after 50 rejections of self-tapes,
19:19 you just really have to keep going.
19:21 You'll find the one that's meant for you.
19:23 You just have to keep auditioning.
19:25 Then eventually,
19:26 if it's meant for you, it's meant for you.
19:28 Correct.
19:29 Keep pushing and pushing.
19:31 You'll never know if you'll continue this last thing you're thinking about.
19:35 That's it.
19:36 Then your life will change.
19:38 You don't know.
19:39 Right?
19:40 So, just keep going.
19:42 And you'll see that in your experiences.
19:45 But this, of course,
19:47 with the hardships you went through,
19:49 you were able to enter the industry.
19:51 And working here in the industry,
19:54 you can't avoid receiving harsh comments.
19:58 What is the most harsh comment you received?
20:07 And what did you do while Angela was hiding?
20:10 Do you want to start?
20:12 I'll go first.
20:13 You go first.
20:14 Yes.
20:16 Wait a minute.
20:17 Yes.
20:19 And we're already like this.
20:21 There is.
20:22 No.
20:25 Because I,
20:27 I praise God that
20:29 if I compare it to my friends in the industry,
20:35 I'm very blessed.
20:36 It's not that they're too much.
20:38 To me.
20:40 Maybe the most harsh comment to me when I was young,
20:44 was,
20:45 "Oh."
20:47 What?
20:48 Oh, no.
20:49 No, maybe one of the most harsh comments,
20:55 but now I'm just laughing,
20:58 is when I made a cover,
21:01 and they said,
21:03 "Oh, your voice is so low.
21:05 That's lip-sync.
21:06 That's not real.
21:07 It's obviously recorded."
21:09 And the song I sang was "Titi Boti Bobo" by Redelatory.
21:13 It was so fast.
21:16 I said, "Huh?"
21:18 My friends were angry.
21:21 "What's with that?"
21:22 That's how good you were.
21:24 That they were like, "No, there's no way it's real."
21:26 That's the only thing I took.
21:28 Maybe that's how it is.
21:29 People's insults,
21:31 you'll feel like,
21:32 "Is that how clean it is?
21:34 It's not clean."
21:35 It's like that.
21:37 Maybe that's how it is.
21:38 You know,
21:40 what's great about what EC said,
21:41 is that they're so good at questioning,
21:43 "Is this true?"
21:45 It's not like that.
21:47 But sorry, Angela just tried to prove it's true.
21:50 Right?
21:53 Sorry.
21:54 What about you, AC?
21:55 What's the harshest comment?
21:57 Oh my gosh.
21:58 I think I've gone through
21:59 very harsh comments in my life.
22:02 They've asked me,
22:04 can I say this on live?
22:06 They've asked me to,
22:08 they've told me to do stuff to myself.
22:12 They've told me to,
22:14 yeah, they've asked me to do that.
22:16 They've commented.
22:18 The number one always is to comment on my body,
22:22 to start bringing up my family,
22:25 to start saying,
22:26 "Madame po, even the way I dance,
22:29 they say a lot of things."
22:30 They've said everything.
22:32 They've said everything.
22:33 And I've had,
22:34 I've had my tough times.
22:36 So there are times when I just stay quiet.
22:39 Or like,
22:40 I just disappear from social media for a while.
22:44 Or just being on TV.
22:45 Because it can get to you.
22:47 And it's like,
22:48 it's really hard because at the end of the day,
22:50 a lot of people don't remember that we are all human beings.
22:54 We are all human beings.
22:55 Just because we are artistas doesn't mean that we are hidden
22:59 from what they say to us.
23:01 So it's like,
23:03 I've learned to take a step back,
23:05 and breathe,
23:06 and be with the people that I love the most,
23:08 and who are there for me,
23:10 and just comfort me in the most safe way.
23:13 But yeah, it's been bad.
23:16 They've gotten bad comments.
23:18 Until now, it doesn't stop.
23:20 But I've just been able to handle it better now.
23:24 You know how to accept it,
23:27 or deadmau5,
23:29 you'll just choose what you can read.
23:31 Actually,
23:32 the technique is also good, right?
23:34 You'll just choose what you can see,
23:36 and you won't think about it,
23:39 and you won't give it time.
23:41 Because it's nonsense, right?
23:43 It's like a punishment.
23:45 But for those who received these harsh comments,
23:48 did you think that you're questioning yourself?
23:52 Or with that,
23:54 you want to quit the showbiz?
23:56 I have one.
24:00 You have one?
24:02 You have one?
24:03 Oh, bye!
24:05 Happy.
24:06 Happy.
24:07 I know, of course,
24:09 as a person,
24:12 there are times when
24:15 the reality hits you,
24:18 that you don't want to do it anymore,
24:20 you're tired.
24:21 Like, whatever you prove to people,
24:23 even if you don't have to prove it,
24:25 of course, there are parts of you that you want to prove to them,
24:29 like, nothing happened,
24:31 I'm tired, I don't want to do it anymore.
24:33 But,
24:34 it's just like,
24:36 a split second of your day,
24:40 or a few hours,
24:42 you'll feel it.
24:43 But you'll also think that,
24:46 you're in this situation because
24:49 there are a lot of people who support you,
24:51 a lot of people who love you,
24:53 a lot of people who believe in your ability.
24:56 So why would you stop because of a single word from a person?
25:00 And,
25:01 there are a lot of people who love and support you.
25:05 That's it.
25:06 Correct. You, AC.
25:08 Me,
25:10 I've really put myself down because of
25:14 what people were saying about me.
25:16 I became really insecure about how I look,
25:19 even how I dance,
25:20 which is one of my, like,
25:22 which is one of my ways to really release how I feel,
25:25 and one of my, like, superpowers.
25:27 It felt like one of my superpowers.
25:29 And then people were still hating on my superpowers.
25:32 So I was really insecure about myself.
25:35 And it was really bad for a time for me.
25:39 But again, there is like that handful of people
25:42 who will always be there for you,
25:44 whether that's your family or your friends,
25:45 or like, even fans.
25:47 Like, the other day, I was having a really bad day.
25:49 And then I came home to flowers
25:53 from one of my fans.
25:54 Did I tell you this?
25:56 Her name is Micah.
25:58 She gave me flowers.
25:59 And I was like, "What the heck? How did she know?"
26:01 I came home really late from rehearsals.
26:04 Yeah, even Ikoy.
26:05 Yeah, we have a fan.
26:06 They give us gifts when they don't even realize
26:09 we're having bad days.
26:10 And it's just because they're there for us.
26:12 Like, it's insane.
26:13 And I messaged her.
26:14 I was like, "Thank you so much."
26:16 And it's just those few people that keep you going.
26:19 Actually, even if you don't have that many people who love you,
26:23 but there are,
26:24 Yeah.
26:25 it's already too many.
26:26 It's already too many.
26:27 Correct.
26:28 And they're the ones who really matter
26:30 because they're the ones who know you,
26:32 they're the ones who know what you've been through,
26:34 and what you really want to show and share with people,
26:39 especially with your supporters.
26:41 So, for those who are commenting harshly,
26:46 "I'm just doing nothing but bashing."
26:49 My God, you need to think about it.
26:51 Be careful with what you're saying
26:53 because we're all just humans.
26:54 Right?
26:55 Yes.
26:56 And with that, let's leave those negative comments.
26:59 What's the best--
27:01 Let's leave those negative comments.
27:04 What's the best comment that you remember receiving?
27:11 Go.
27:15 There's a lot.
27:16 There's a lot.
27:18 Anything positive in general.
27:20 Anything positive.
27:21 I love--
27:22 I find it so funny when people comment.
27:25 People on TikTok, their humor is on another level.
27:29 They'll comment, "Bash me."
27:32 Is that right?
27:34 "Bash me. I'm still wearing it."
27:36 Something like that.
27:38 "Attack me. I'm still wearing it."
27:40 Those comments.
27:43 "Oh my gosh, I wouldn't care if AC punched me right now."
27:46 That's what I like.
27:49 I really enjoy those comments.
27:53 Or those comments like,
27:57 "I just noticed you, AC. Comment on me."
28:00 Those comments.
28:01 Because they're like your friends.
28:04 That's why they're happy.
28:06 They're like your friends.
28:09 Or those like, "Oh, I didn't know you can do dance videos."
28:13 My dance videos on TikTok.
28:15 They'll comment, "Oh, you can do The Voice."
28:19 "You can do Out of Talent."
28:22 Thank you.
28:23 Thank you, Nui.
28:25 I really enjoyed our episode.
28:28 I'll go to the audience.
28:30 I can just listen to you.
28:32 Let's go back to spelling bee.
28:37 We just learned about spelling bee.
28:39 The 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
28:43 Let's go back.
28:44 How was it working with your friends?
28:46 Shania, Jordan.
28:49 You also have Nui Volante with you, right?
28:51 Yes.
28:52 We love our cast.
28:56 Aside from the Star Magic artists.
28:58 We get to work with them on ASAP and ABS.
29:02 That's normal for us.
29:03 But seeing them in a whole different light.
29:05 A whole different side to them here in the musical.
29:08 With our other, can we say theater veterans?
29:12 Our theater co-actors.
29:16 Everyone was like...
29:18 Actually, when I first started, honestly...
29:22 I thought we were the only ones.
29:26 Like, "Okay, Star Magic artists. We have a circle. This is okay."
29:33 I thought it was like that.
29:35 Because it's intimidating.
29:37 The discipline and talent are different.
29:41 Especially the theater actors and veterans.
29:46 But honestly, the healthy...
29:51 We're all very healthy.
29:53 We said in the car, "We're all very healthy."
29:56 It's like...
29:58 It's like this is wrong.
30:00 Because we're all...
30:03 Even for example...
30:05 A theater actor, for example...
30:10 Justine.
30:12 One of the Schwarzies who plays as Schwarzie.
30:18 For example, when AC and I work together,
30:21 they'll have their own banning.
30:23 There's no awkward moment.
30:25 There's no OP here.
30:27 Everything is in harmony.
30:29 We're all touched by Angela's humor.
30:32 Her loudness, her...
30:35 This is what Angela said.
30:37 The one's who's annoying becomes the one's who's annoying.
30:40 Everyone.
30:41 Everyone is just getting along so well.
30:43 And we work so well both onstage and offstage.
30:47 They just teach us so much.
30:49 We learn so much from them.
30:51 There's no OP here.
30:54 Everyone belongs.
30:56 Even our prods, our stage managers.
31:01 Yay!
31:02 Hello.
31:07 Hello.
31:08 So, there.
31:10 Actually, we're in a rehearsal.
31:14 We're just doing a segway.
31:18 Later, maybe...
31:20 Maybe you can go up and say hi to the rest of the cast.
31:25 They're all upstairs.
31:27 I hope so.
31:28 But it's so nice that you're not limiting your circle to Star Magic Family.
31:34 And you're even expanding.
31:35 And what's nice about this is that you're all very...
31:38 No one is OP.
31:41 And for sure, you're all very collaborative.
31:43 You're all really helping each other.
31:45 And you mentioned earlier that you discovered something in your co-stars.
31:50 You've been in other shows before.
31:53 What did you discover in yourself in this project?
31:58 Like, "Oh my God, I can do this."
32:01 "Oh my God."
32:02 Like that.
32:03 Do you want me to act?
32:05 Oh my God.
32:06 I discovered that I can sing and dance at the same time.
32:19 Wow!
32:20 Hey!
32:21 Because there are people who don't believe in me.
32:24 There are people who don't think I can do it.
32:26 Because they don't give me the chance to prove it.
32:29 But here, they give me the chance to prove it.
32:32 And it's making me believe in myself so much more.
32:35 Yes.
32:36 But that's right, Acey.
32:37 You've been performing before.
32:39 Yes!
32:40 You've been dancing and singing, right?
32:43 Yes, but I don't know what it is.
32:46 Why?
32:47 Actually, I was surprised when I first saw you.
32:50 Because you're known for being a good dancer on stage.
32:54 But when I saw you perform and sing at the same time,
32:58 and you can do it,
32:59 I was surprised that you can do it.
33:02 But why?
33:03 I was surprised too.
33:05 So, there are people who question you.
33:07 What?
33:08 There are people who question you even though you've shown them.
33:12 Yes.
33:13 It's me.
33:14 It's me.
33:15 This interview doesn't make sense anymore.
33:19 Our dog show is over.
33:22 It's over.
33:24 Okay, you go, Jalago.
33:28 What did you discover?
33:29 Because it's like Acey and I are so different.
33:33 What?
33:35 Wait, I have a proper answer.
33:37 You're so nice.
33:38 No, no, no.
33:39 I discovered that maybe with acting.
33:46 Not even just that.
33:47 Because the show is long.
33:49 It's like an hour and a half, almost two hours.
33:51 Almost two hours.
33:52 Maybe I discovered that I can do the things that I can do.
33:56 Like singing, dancing, and you're gonna go back into your emotions.
34:01 Yeah, like you can.
34:03 And then you're back into your acting.
34:05 And then suddenly, it's sad again.
34:07 And then you're happy.
34:08 And then there's a lot of emotions in one thing.
34:11 Besides that, we're kids.
34:12 Yeah.
34:13 So, maybe I was surprised that I can do all four at once.
34:22 Because I've never done that in my life.
34:24 Actually, I've never done that in my life.
34:26 That's really what I haven't done ever.
34:28 Singing, dancing, and acting all at the same time.
34:31 That's a good discovery.
34:34 And it will add to your profile.
34:37 And people will question you.
34:39 "Acey can do it."
34:41 Now, let's go to Angela.
34:44 Maybe in addition to what Acey said.
34:51 Because it's live.
34:54 That's the highlight.
34:56 Because it's live, you can't look tired.
35:01 You can't breathe.
35:03 You can't be out of character.
35:05 Because the show will be ruined.
35:09 So, I discovered that...
35:13 Actually, it's four.
35:15 Four talents can mix in one show.
35:24 And I realized that I can do it.
35:29 Even if my character is already ruined.
35:35 I can still perform my role well.
35:44 That's it.
35:46 Okay.
35:48 And with that, we'll read the comments.
35:51 I saw earlier that they're really enjoying it.
35:56 Let's read the comments from our pepsters who are watching.
36:01 This kind of friendship.
36:06 Don't.
36:08 It's a bit abusive.
36:10 I don't want to do it.
36:12 It's my choice. We're working together.
36:14 Is there a chance that you'll be doing the same show as Olive or Marcy?
36:20 Yes, it's our first show.
36:22 Ah, together.
36:24 Let's do it together.
36:26 Actually, the very first show, opening day, Feb 24, 3pm.
36:32 Angela and I are together in that show.
36:35 Where will you do it again? Acey and Angela.
36:39 Yes.
36:41 In...
36:43 Sorry.
36:45 I know this.
36:47 In Power Mac Center Spotlight, Black Box Theater, Circuit Makati.
36:54 There.
36:55 Angela was noting earlier but she still doesn't know where it is.
37:01 I don't know.
37:05 Guys, let's go.
37:08 Yes.
37:09 Circuit Makati.
37:11 I'll repeat it.
37:13 It's gonna be at Power Mac Center Spotlight, Black Box Theater, Circuit Makati.
37:20 There.
37:22 Guys, take note. It will be on Feb 24.
37:26 24.
37:27 Until March 17.
37:29 Until March 17.
37:31 We'll go there.
37:33 Go, go, go.
37:37 You can also buy your tickets at Ticket2Me.
37:43 Angela is not good at guessing.
37:45 I'll do it.
37:47 25...
37:51 Auntie is telling me.
37:52 No, I'll do it, Angela.
37:54 No.
37:55 Okay.
37:59 This will be running from Feb 24 to March 17.
38:03 You can get your tickets on Ticket2Me.net.
38:06 Yes.
38:07 The ticket price starts from P19233.
38:13 There.
38:14 So, get your tickets now.
38:16 Take note, PEPsters and to all our viewers.
38:19 We'll repeat it later.
38:21 But now, we'll go to our PEP Challenge.
38:24 PEP!
38:26 How, Angela?
38:32 I'm the one who's doing the voiceover.
38:34 I'll do it.
38:36 You can move.
38:38 1, 2, 3.
38:41 Wait.
38:42 Let's say it again.
38:44 We'll do it first.
38:45 Okay.
38:46 We'll do the VTR.
38:48 You'll do the intro.
38:51 Yes.
38:52 Okay.
38:53 Don't put the OVB.
38:55 Okay, guys. Take 2.
38:57 And with that, we'll start our PEP Challenge.
39:00 PEP Challenge!
39:02 [Laughs]
39:04 Okay.
39:08 Oh, my God.
39:10 We're going to the house.
39:11 And the PEP Challenge is Top of Mind.
39:14 I heard the OVB.
39:23 I heard the OVB.
39:24 You didn't hear it.
39:26 You didn't hear it.
39:27 I didn't say it.
39:28 To all our viewers, please repeat the screen record.
39:31 No, because I was preparing to say the OVB.
39:37 I said, "And then I said the OVB."
39:40 [Laughs]
39:42 Oh, my God.
39:43 I don't know how we'll end this.
39:46 Okay.
39:48 Okay.
39:49 We're okay.
39:50 Okay.
39:51 Okay.
39:52 Let's go back.
39:53 Top of Mind.
39:55 In Top of Mind, I'll give you instances, situations, or things that you need to answer right away.
40:02 Very top of mind.
40:04 Okay.
40:05 Okay.
40:07 Ready?
40:08 Ready.
40:10 Ready.
40:11 For our first best actor.
40:14 We're going to answer at the same time.
40:17 One by one.
40:18 You go first. Easy. Go.
40:20 Go.
40:22 5, 4, 3.
40:24 Daniel Padilla.
40:25 2, 1.
40:26 Ding Dong Dantes.
40:27 Okay.
40:29 Next best actress.
40:31 Catherine Bernardo.
40:33 Mariana Rivera.
40:34 [Laughs]
40:37 Okay.
40:38 Next.
40:39 Don't get it wrong.
40:40 Catherine Bernardo.
40:41 I'm good.
40:42 I'm good, right?
40:43 Okay.
40:44 Next best dancer.
40:46 Diana Guerrero.
40:48 Aisipu Di Pacho.
40:49 [Screams]
40:51 I said, "I can't say this."
40:53 [Laughs]
40:54 I said, "I can't say this."
40:55 [Laughs]
40:56 Let's go.
40:58 Best singer.
40:59 Moira De La Torre.
41:01 Angela Kel.
41:02 [Screams]
41:04 What is this?
41:05 [Laughs]
41:08 I'm good.
41:09 Okay.
41:11 Next.
41:12 Your favorite project, guys.
41:13 Like our own?
41:15 Yes.
41:17 Spelling Bee.
41:18 Yeah, me too.
41:19 Spelling Bee.
41:20 Spelling Bee.
41:21 Next.
41:22 Your least favorite project.
41:24 My project when I was in high school.
41:31 My teacher was my crush.
41:33 Maybe my dance covers before
41:37 when I was a kid.
41:39 When my mom was the one who shot it.
41:41 My mom was the one who shot my dance covers.
41:43 Me.
41:44 I used to cover my head when I couldn't see.
41:47 Then, black and white.
41:48 Just here?
41:51 Just like this?
41:52 Like this.
41:55 "Ah, it's me."
41:57 Like this.
41:58 Welcome to Pep Challenge.
42:02 Yes.
42:03 Thank you.
42:04 Welcome to Pep Challenge.
42:05 Top of the mind.
42:07 Welcome to Pep Challenge.
42:08 Top of the mind where you do not see the mind.
42:10 Okay, next.
42:14 Choose only one.
42:15 Acting, dancing, singing, hosting.
42:17 Only one.
42:18 Dancing.
42:20 Dancing, singing.
42:21 Okay.
42:23 Next.
42:24 Live fraud or taped.
42:26 Live fraud.
42:28 Bye.
42:30 Next.
42:31 Be part of a girl group.
42:33 What girl group will you join?
42:35 Blackpink.
42:36 Red Velvet.
42:40 Correct.
42:41 I'll join Sexpom.
42:49 So fast.
42:50 So fast.
42:51 So fast.
42:52 It's on cue.
42:53 At the same time.
42:55 It's like you're the one who will form your own girl group.
42:58 Here we go.
42:59 We're going to do it.
43:00 We're going to do it.
43:01 Double A Battery.
43:03 Inib.
43:04 Oh my God, easy.
43:07 You know what?
43:09 I'll do it.
43:12 Here we go, guys.
43:14 At least I can promote my show.
43:17 I can do it too.
43:18 I can do it too.
43:19 This is the last one for our PEP Challenge.
43:23 This is fast, guys.
43:24 You'll answer at the same time.
43:27 I mean, at the same time.
43:28 Ready?
43:30 Okay, game.
43:31 Spell Mississippi.
43:32 M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I.
43:36 Mississippi.
43:38 Correct.
43:39 I like the way Azee was like, "Huh?"
43:42 I thought she was wrong.
43:46 M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I.
43:49 It's like a choreo.
43:50 M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I.
43:54 Yeah!
43:55 5, 6, 7, 8.
43:57 M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I.
44:00 Yeah!
44:01 See?
44:03 Correct.
44:05 Okay, guys.
44:06 Okay, here's the next one.
44:07 I don't know anymore.
44:09 You know, it's like something's going through my head.
44:12 But here's the thing.
44:14 I'm not sure if Azee did this before.
44:18 But I did this to Angela before.
44:20 So, here in PEP Live, especially when I'm the host,
44:24 what I do is I manifest my guest.
44:28 Right?
44:29 So, I just want to go back to what Angela Ken said before.
44:34 She said, "5 to 10 years from now,
44:39 you'll have your own house and financial stability."
44:44 There.
44:46 So, now, Angela, what will you manifest?
44:50 Just continue.
44:51 5 years from now.
44:52 5 years from now,
44:56 we'll still be friends with Azee.
45:00 Yuck! I said it myself.
45:03 5 years from now.
45:05 I don't want to.
45:08 It's like plastic.
45:09 That's why.
45:10 Okay.
45:11 5 years from now.
45:13 5 years from now,
45:15 people still know my songs
45:22 and there are still many people who are inspired by them.
45:25 There.
45:26 Okay.
45:27 And now, it's Azee's chance.
45:30 Go! 5 years from now.
45:31 5 years from now, I will be performing on international stages.
45:36 [claps]
45:39 With Angela Ken.
45:40 Perfect.
45:42 Our goal is to win the Super Bowl.
45:47 Yes!
45:49 Yes!
45:50 We'll sing there.
45:52 I'll go first.
45:54 Everybody.
45:55 They don't know!
45:57 English. English.
45:59 Every step in the soil
46:02 In the soil.
46:04 In the soil feels like I'm
46:07 I'm just an audience here.
46:10 Ah!
46:12 Every step in the soil, I feel like I am a wave
46:16 In the ocean
46:18 I thought it was Alan Way.
46:19 But seriously, I have an English version.
46:22 Just stream that. Don't do this.
46:25 Correct.
46:26 And here's our last question.
46:29 We'll go back to our burning question.
46:32 If you were to replace a lead character from a local movie, series, or play,
46:38 who would it be?
46:39 And your answer is, let's start with you, Azee.
46:43 Kathryn Bernardo in "Got to Believe".
46:47 Because?
46:48 I grew up watching "Got to Believe".
46:52 I'm still in Canada.
46:53 I would come home every day from school
46:56 and I would watch the next episode of "Got to Believe".
46:59 I feel like she raised me.
47:04 Chichay.
47:05 Chichay took care of me.
47:08 A part of Chichay will always be in me.
47:12 Is it correct, Azee, that Chichay is the one who's sorry?
47:17 Is it correct?
47:18 Yes.
47:19 Correct.
47:20 Iconic.
47:21 Correct.
47:22 And you, Angela?
47:25 Miss Marian.
47:27 Miss Marian because...
47:29 Because besides the last movie I watched,
47:36 the plot of "Rewind" was different for me.
47:41 Because I was with my family when I was watching it.
47:46 And then we were all hit by reality.
47:52 That life can't be rewinded.
47:55 So it's nice if I get a chance to reenact that.
48:03 Like in Miss Marian Rivera's role,
48:09 it's a perfect opportunity.
48:16 Okay.
48:18 And for my very, very last question.
48:20 What is your dream or goal after your project,
48:28 the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee?
48:32 For me, hopefully it opens more doors for musical theater.
48:38 Yes.
48:39 Even if it's just for auditions.
48:41 Just doing auditions for musicals would be such an amazing experience.
48:46 You, Angela?
48:49 Maybe I'll just add that it's more recognizable
48:55 the talent of musicals or even theater in general.
49:02 Because now we also watch different theater shows.
49:08 And we realize that they're really different.
49:14 Their talents deserve to be showcased to a wider audience.
49:24 And maybe that's also for us.
49:26 After this Spelling Bee musical,
49:30 for sure, we won't stop auditioning again if there's another one.
49:38 And for sure, there will be auditions.
49:42 So we will try to audition for those.
49:47 So there.
49:49 And I hope there will be more people who will appreciate it.
49:53 And the audience of theater shows like musicals will grow.
49:58 And with that, let's invite our PEPsters
50:01 to the 25th annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
50:04 Go!
50:05 This is your chance to redeem yourself.
