00:00 We're here at CES 2024 at LG Display and we're looking at the future of TVs and display technology.
00:07 And this is all about OLED and not just the kind that we use for gaming and watching TV.
00:11 We're going to see transparent OLEDs both in the living room and what it's going to look like in a retail environment.
00:16 Let's go take a look.
00:17 We're looking at three sizes of transparent OLED TVs that could be coming to a living room near you in the not too distant future.
00:26 On the left hand side here you can see that we have a 77 inch transparent OLED TV and this is really more for immersive entertainment experiences.
00:33 But you can see that because you can see the background behind it, it makes the content in the foreground more immersive and it's almost like 3D.
00:40 Over here in the middle we have a 55 inch transparent OLED TV and you could use this just for watching TV like you normally would but also productivity applications, especially when it comes to video calls.
00:52 You can see this person who's front and center and again it's almost like the person is there because you can see what's going on in the background.
00:59 And last but not least we have a 30 inch transparent OLED on the right hand side over here and you can use this for productivity applications and checking your stocks.
01:07 So what about regular OLED TVs?
01:11 Today we're also getting a demonstration of META 2.0 3rd generation which is going to be showing up in sets like the LG G4.
01:18 And what you get with this is a picture that's up to 42% brighter than previous OLEDs reaching a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
01:25 You might not see that when the TVs actually come to market but the fact that it's capable of that is pretty amazing.
01:31 And the way that it does that is with billions of micro lenses.
01:34 So you're not going to lose as much light leaking from the TV, it's reflected back into the panel itself so you get to enjoy that brightness.
01:43 If you're into gaming this is the 45 inch META bendable display from LG Display.
01:48 It has a 240 hertz refresh rate.
01:50 What you can see here is that if you're playing a soccer game maybe you don't need that level of immersion.
01:54 But with the push of a button we can go to an 800R curve.
01:58 So basically it's almost like a 3D experience in front of you.
02:01 You can see that it's bending on command with a press of the remote control.
02:05 So this actually makes it feel like you're in the cockpit racing around the track.
02:10 So what did I like? I definitely like the bendable OLEDs that you can use for gaming but also for professional use.
02:16 And I think transparent OLED is going to go mainstream thanks to LG Display.
02:20 It's already showing up in TVs and we're going to see what it looks like when we go into malls in the not too distant future.
