00:19 In the meantime, reflecting on her two decades in entertainment, which since her breakout
00:24 role in 2006's "Akilah and the Bee" has included a Nickelodeon sitcom, an Emmy-winning game
00:31 show and a hit podcast, not to mention films like "Hustlers" and "Alice," the 30-year-old
00:37 says she's focused on creating a space for others to thrive.
00:41 Kiki notes, "I just don't believe in holding everything.
00:44 I don't believe in gatekeeping.
00:46 I'm not a coward.
00:48 What would that do?"
00:49 She continues, "I think about my son.
00:51 I don't want to raise him to be afraid.
00:53 I don't want to raise him to have no boundaries or for him to be naive either.
00:57 But I want to raise him to know that if life is a school, get out there and learn.
01:02 A part of learning in this place, I think, is to love and to know how to first be unconditionally
01:08 loving to yourself so that you know how to love others and be of service to others in
01:13 a way that doesn't disadvantage them, but instead empowers them.
01:17 That's what I would hope that the legacy is for me.
