Oscar Mayer has the Wienermobile and now McDonald's has the Burgercuda. The fast food company has introduced a new ride for one of its mascots, the Hamburgler, and if you see him on the road, you could score yourself a year's worth of free burgers.

The car in question is a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that received a unique restoration courtesy of Sean Smith Designs, a workshop known for its work on classic American automobiles. They've previously showcased their talents for creating custom vehicles by designing a Roadrunner for Kevin Hart and a Dodge Charger for Fast & Furious 9.

The red white and black color scheme is inspired by the Hamburgler, the character who would use it as an escape vehicle. In addition to color, it was also changed according to its function. This includes a McDonald's badge on the front, a "Robble" badge on the hood scoop (apparently inspired by the character's catchphrase "robble, robble"), and "Sesame Bun" wheel covers.

Inside, the color scheme continues with seats featuring Hamburgler's prison uniform-style black and white stripes. Its spare tire was also modified to look like a giant cheeseburger in the trunk, and the team concealed a "burger warmer" under the center armrest. It's also unclear if there was a fire extinguisher nearby.

One of the most significant changes to the car, at least from McDonald's perspective, is the QR code displayed on the rear quarter panel. If anyone encounters the vehicle in the wild and scans the code, they will be able to gain access to Hamburgler-themed merchandise and receive an "Arch Card" for a free McDonald's burger.

The competition and Burgercuda were designed to celebrate the introduction of a series of improvements to McDonald's burgers. The company says it's making its buns fluffier, adding onions to the patties as they cook to caramelize them, and adding more sauce to the Big Mac, among other changes.
