Climate activist Greta Thunberg was acquitted at the Westminster Magistrates' Court on Friday of a single charge under the UK's Public Order Act. The Swedish 21-year-old was arrested during the demonstration near the InterContinental Hotel in Mayfair on October 17 as oil executives met inside for the Energy Intelligence Forum. 00:12 disproportionately interfered with our clients right to free speech. The
00:18 government should stop prosecuting peaceful protesters and instead find
00:26 ways to tackle the climate crisis. Indeed they should stop defending the
00:31 litigation that will explore oil fields such as Rosebank and instead join
00:37 with all of the young people here today and throughout the UK and throughout
00:41 Europe to try and protect our planet. Thank you.
